It has so many passages and interviews from Kristen herself, she was extremely intelligent, brave and passionate. She was deeply unhappy in Seattle, she never fit in with anyone except Kurt, with whom she had daily 4-5 hour long conversations over the phone. The same day Kurt was found dead she went into rehab and decided to leave Seattle and Hole for good, despite the fact that her contract still required her to tour with Hole that summer. She had all of her belongings in a U-Haul outside her Seattle apartment, ready to leave for her home in Minneapolis, but she was found dead next morning from an overdose which could have been prevented.
Did Kurt actually say that? In what interview, where? He would have gotten hell from Courtney for that for sure. He may have felt that way about Kristen but it is one of those things that seems more conjecture on people's part than anything known as fact.

I just got "this" album, never heard 70% of the other songs, but I hit play, and listened to it all - Thought it was odd that Rock Star was mainly about being from Olympia, so did research and found what we all know here, that it was switched, so dug more and found that Kristen did the vocals on this track as well... I think they should have left it in with Kristen's vocals as it was the last song on the album, and would have contrasted Courtney's screaming on a lot of the other tracks well... but damn would it have been a bitter sweet sendoff considering the dark madness and hell that happened right after
They greatly respected each other as musicians and were friends. Courtney was jealous of her, we will never know, she was married to Kurt and not dating Eric for a long time, Kristen was in a relationship with Eric but wanted to go back to Minneapolis to rejoin Janitor Joe and stay away from Seattle and heroin. But she wasn't able to do so because she couldn't trust her own boyfriend and bandmates.
The label should have dumped what's her name in the hole and filled it with dirt then get Kristen, Melissa, J. Mascis on drums and myself shredding the lead guitar duties, to form the super slacker group "Mound".

I think they should have left it in with Kristen's vocals as it was the last song on the album, and would have contrasted Courtney's screaming on a lot of the other tracks well... but damn would it have been a bitter sweet sendoff considering the dark madness and hell that happened right after

They greatly respected each other as musicians and were friends. Courtney was jealous of her, we will never know, she was married to Kurt and not dating Eric for a long time, Kristen was in a relationship with Eric but wanted to go back to Minneapolis to rejoin Janitor Joe and stay away from Seattle and heroin. But she wasn't able to do so because she couldn't trust her own boyfriend and bandmates.
