Kristen had feared some kind of consequence as a result of her decision to leave; "Courtney’s scary. If I take a hike, she’ll make me look bad or do something to make my life miserable."
2. He was probably there to deliver the drugs that killed her. Even *if* she had requested "one more for the road," and we don't know that she did, bringing drugs to an addict in recovery is absolutely reprehensible. Relapses are so so easy with heroin. Love and/or Erlandson knew this, and they knew that she had been clean for months. Was the heroin spiked with something? Was that even necessary? Was this delivery one of the "stupid mistakes" that Erlandson has referred to, which resulted in deaths? 5. I've seen this, but are these conflicting statements all collected somewhere? It will never be completely clear that she was going to join Kurt, and I don't know if it's disrespectful/tasteless to speculate like this, but imagine if they both got away, Kurt got custody of Frances in the impending divorce, Kristen was back with the band that made her happy and healthy, Kurt could become the Johnny Cash-like figure he talked about... and Frances could have a lovely stepmom. Sigh. Justice for the two of them!
Or had she lived just a few hours longer, and escaped from that horrible environment. Even before that- was one of Kurt's plane tickets for her? Imagine if they had both gotten away, the divorce went through, Kurt got custody of Frances and went off to make the music he wanted to make as a Johnny Cash-like figure. Kristen could be back with the band that made her happy and healthy... and Frances could have a lovely stepmom.
@@hehasnolips1371 Wasn't it three in total? One for him, one for someone from the staff, and one to prevent someone sitting next to him? Frances wouldn't have needed a ticket.
She has such a magnetic energy, if she only had more time. Imagine how famous she would be today. I think there definitely would have been a Kristen Pfaff solo album. ⭐️🖤⭐️
I just got "this" album, never heard 70% of the other songs, but I hit play, and listened to it all - Thought it was odd that Rock Star was mainly about being from Olympia, so did research and found what we all know here, that it was switched, so dug more and found that Kristen did the vocals on this track as well... I think they should have left it in with Kristen's vocals as it was the last song on the album, and would have contrasted Courtney's screaming on a lot of the other tracks well... but damn would it have been a bitter sweet sendoff considering the dark madness and hell that happened right after
Doesn't it strike any of you as odd that Kristen died shortly after Kurt? That pages of her diary were missing? That Courtney was in the apartment the morning of her death? Those who knew Kristen say she was digusted with Courtney. They were not best friends.
Even if it wasn't an intentional murder (and it could have been), delivering drugs to an addict in recovery is a disgusting thing to do, even if she had requested "one more for the road."
Courtney's version IS Kristen's version. I'm sure she had a lot more input on that album than people realise. She apparently came up with the chorus to Miss World.
Kristen grew up in my hometown outside buffalo New York I am a bass player and really think she was a great talent she is a self taught musician who was in college and was kinda at the right place at the right time and got in with hole ....rip Kristen
They greatly respected each other as musicians and were friends. Courtney was jealous of her, we will never know, she was married to Kurt and not dating Eric for a long time, Kristen was in a relationship with Eric but wanted to go back to Minneapolis to rejoin Janitor Joe and stay away from Seattle and heroin. But she wasn't able to do so because she couldn't trust her own boyfriend and bandmates.
@judyleasugar97 I believe what i believe and haven't ever read Love and Death, but I do know that the Pfaff family has said they were taken out of context in the book and that the information used in it was presented in a different light then it was intended to be perceived. Who knows what was rightfully said and what was taken out of context, but please keep that in mind while reading the book.
@@micnik4793 I know Kristen's brother and am acquainted with her mother and nephew. Not sure they ever went super widespread with it, but I've seen Jason post about it on social media various times in addition to Janet and him both telling me as such.

Kristen was my favourite Hole bass-player and her harmonies complemented Courtney's voice perfectly. I actually love Melissa as a solo artist but not so much as a background vocalist for Hole. She had a tendency to over-harmonise and make the songs sound way too busy. As for all the crazy "Courtney the murderess" theories, I wish people would fucking stop being pathetic and delusional and accept the truth already - Kurt killed himself and Kristen accidentally OD'd and that's all there is to it.
Listen Juliano Souza, you are the one who's being ignorant here by confusing facts with conjecture. If Tom Grant had anything new to offer, he wouldn't have waited 20 years to do it. Do us a favour and take your conspiracy bullshit elsewhere, okay?
ravenorkel There's anything new to show up, but like I said, you CANT ignore the FACTS. She had an affair with Kurt at the same time Courtney had an affair with Billy Corgan. Kurt was leaving the band, the city, quitting music. You can clearly see that on You Know You're Right lyrics. A song that other Nirvana members fought in court to release.
Juliano Souza Dude, you don't even know how much you *don't know* and are barking up the wrong tree here. None of the things you mentioned are facts. Here are a couple of ACTUAL FACTS I was privy to at the time: prior to her death, Kristen was seeing two people (Paul and Eric), none of whom were Kurt. Besides, Kurt was a monogamous person and the only "mistress" in his life was smack. He wasn't quitting music; he just didn't want to be in Nirvana anymore. You can't change history to fit your own misinformed wishful thinking no matter how hard you try.
The label should have dumped what's her name in the hole and filled it with dirt then get Kristen, Melissa, J. Mascis on drums and myself shredding the lead guitar duties, to form the super slacker group "Mound".

She would still be alive
@@scottcharney1091 that was a system error he didn't get 2 plane tickets
@@hehasnolips1371 Wasn't it three in total? One for him, one for someone from the staff, and one to prevent someone sitting next to him? Frances wouldn't have needed a ticket.
She has such a magnetic energy, if she only had more time. Imagine how famous she would be today. I think there definitely would have been a Kristen Pfaff solo album. ⭐️🖤⭐️
Wish the 90s never went away.
honestly most of the 90's sucked, after 94 for sure it all took a dive,, i wish we could go back to the 80's now that was fun.
no wonder she had background vocals. she sounds like an angel
She was / is so pretty with a very pretty voice . RIP but you and your music live forever .
Went and saw her grave today... RIP
That must be a sombre experience.
This was such a beautiful tribute! Sad to see talent like this guy too soon. Thanks for sharing
I just got "this" album, never heard 70% of the other songs, but I hit play, and listened to it all - Thought it was odd that Rock Star was mainly about being from Olympia, so did research and found what we all know here, that it was switched, so dug more and found that Kristen did the vocals on this track as well... I think they should have left it in with Kristen's vocals as it was the last song on the album, and would have contrasted Courtney's screaming on a lot of the other tracks well... but damn would it have been a bitter sweet sendoff considering the dark madness and hell that happened right after
most beautiful girl ever miss you
her voice is so beautiful
Doesn't it strike any of you as odd that Kristen died shortly after Kurt? That pages of her diary were missing? That Courtney was in the apartment the morning of her death? Those who knew Kristen say she was digusted with Courtney. They were not best friends.
My favorite bassist. Thank you for making this video
The guitar is everything
Justice for Kristen
Even if it wasn't an intentional murder (and it could have been), delivering drugs to an addict in recovery is a disgusting thing to do, even if she had requested "one more for the road."
Damn right.
Love her little voice
beautiful video you're posted here - thanks for sharing! ~The27s
It sounds to me like she's having fun with the verse chord progression to the then recently released "Cherub Rock".
So addictive this song!
I miss her so much. She was a great bassist.
R.I.P Kristen ❤️ this is so much better then Courtney’s version.
Courtney's version IS Kristen's version. I'm sure she had a lot more input on that album than people realise. She apparently came up with the chorus to Miss World.
Love and miss Kristen.
Kristen grew up in my hometown outside buffalo New York I am a bass player and really think she was a great talent she is a self taught musician who was in college and was kinda at the right place at the right time and got in with hole ....rip Kristen
She was classically trained.
@@scottcharney1091 classically trained on the piano but self taught bass guitarist
So beautiful...
RIP Kristen. 15th June 2020
this is so beautiful and sad , i love you kristen
Kristen and also Mia zapata were best things out of grunge to bad the haters stopped them
i love her so much
We need the whole song!
Not sure why thats a competition, Melissa is very talented and stepped in only when Kristen passed away.
This is the best version. Kristin Pfaff was taken way too soon.
Kristen Pfaff was so beautiful..
We love you Kristen.
From the Black n white thick pix to the fat heeled shoes.,...this brought me back.
Damn, I wish so many of these great artist were still alive. True artists suffer.
Que hermosa que era
such a great song
Very good compilation video.
Lovely.
If this is really Kristen then it’s just proves she wrote this song
@garfrain i think this was a back up vocal track that was to be mixed in with the courtneys lead at some point. thats probably why its so soft
I truly believe Kurt was leaving Nirvana to start a new band and Kristen was planning to join it…😊
i don’t think kurt would want to start another band, seeing that he hated the publicity. and wasn’t kristen wanting to go back to her old band?
They greatly respected each other as musicians and were friends. Courtney was jealous of her, we will never know, she was married to Kurt and not dating Eric for a long time, Kristen was in a relationship with Eric but wanted to go back to Minneapolis to rejoin Janitor Joe and stay away from Seattle and heroin. But she wasn't able to do so because she couldn't trust her own boyfriend and bandmates.
I wish she wouldve gone solo or hade started her band. I miss her sweet angelic voice
Jason Uriel she i think had one called Janitor Joe or Janitor Uncle
They say she was going to do just that, but just before she could leave Hole she died..
She was so beautiful
Kristen was the best person ever to be on Hole!
0:30,
Kristen looks damn good in that dress.
sounds like the Vaselines the way she does this version...which is, though short, way better than the album version with Love singing...
Where did they say that?
@@micnik4793 I know Kristen's brother and am acquainted with her mother and nephew. Not sure they ever went super widespread with it, but I've seen Jason post about it on social media various times in addition to Janet and him both telling me as such.
@@micnik4793 this comment is also 10 years old. That in mind, Janet has since released her own book on her daughter. That may state it also, but I do not own a copy of the book nor have a i read it as I slowed on music stuff considerably after my children were born
she is so badass and beautiful
Kristen was my favourite Hole bass-player and her harmonies complemented Courtney's voice perfectly. I actually love Melissa as a solo artist but not so much as a background vocalist for Hole. She had a tendency to over-harmonise and make the songs sound way too busy.
As for all the crazy "Courtney the murderess" theories, I wish people would fucking stop being pathetic and delusional and accept the truth already - Kurt killed himself and Kristen accidentally OD'd and that's all there is to it.
true.
Should probably study the cases some more.
Love her!
rest in peace angel
I’d rather die. Yeah. She did.
angel 💖💔💖
If Kurt had gone solo or started a new band I bet he would have gave her a call.
They were known to talk on the phone for hours.
wow, that was beautiful.
Hopefully there is more from her
Oh yeah
After she killed Kurt, she killed a detective, then Kristen, two years later El Duce and again six years later Kurt's coroner.
NevermindKurt94 and very nearly Frances’ ex.
It's fantastic...
This is a really nice song.
00.38 seconds=pepperoni dress
This is so sad. Poor girl, she was so so so much more talented than the C word. (sigh)
@judyleasugar97 Both dead and Mia Zapata also. Connection? Yes. Her name is Courtney Love.
Can anyone direct me to more of her stuff I get the feeling she was the Bronx live through this
Search UA-cam for Janitor Joe
thanks man
The label should have dumped what's her name in the hole and filled it with dirt then get Kristen, Melissa, J. Mascis on drums and myself shredding the lead guitar duties, to form the super slacker group "Mound".
she was so beautiful. RIP.
Rest in peace Kristen.
