This year he turns 80 years old. 211 games for Hawthorn 1961-1974 Senior Coach Hawthorn 1977-1980 Carlton 1981-1985, 1991-2000 Fitzroy 1986-1987 1971 Premiership Captain 1978, 1981, 1982, 1995 Premiership Coach David Parkin, Ron Barassi, Leigh Matthews, Kevin Sheedy, Robert Walls and Paul Roos played 200 plus games and coached 200 plus games. They also won flags as players (Paul Roos was a 1996 Grand Finallist) and coaches.
I've only just realised this was only put up yesterday! Must be fate - as a Hawthorn fan, Parko is a huge figure not just as a player and coach but for what he continues to do for the game. An inspirational bloke who I have great admiration for.
Scraping the bottom of the barrel. Met him down in Hobart in 2015 at the Salamanca markets at a local cafe. Tried to cut the line in front of me. Total flog.
He's put an identical comment for Robert DiPierdomenico. Of course, Parkin and Dipper look very similar so I can see how he might have gotten confused. ua-cam.com/video/R8ANGMyLIE0/v-deo.html
