Useful info if you need to help somebody get into a system they locked themselves out of, but honestly it just makes way more sense to do a clean OS install for multiple reasons.

That's true - but having a true license for all these builds costs too much money. And if you aren't taking the system online, there's really no harm in just wiping the old data and keeping the OS.
