  • It took me several months of searching and experimenting but I finally was able to come up with a solution that will allow me to use my propane lantern without having to buy expensive (and bad for the environment) 1lb propane cylinders, and making it safer and easier to handle.
    The 4 things you'll need:
    1. Flame King YSN5LB 5 Pound Propane Tank Cylinder, Great For Portable Grills, Fire Pits, Heaters And Overlanding, White (Part # ‎YSN5LB) (a.co/d/aqKAKfp)
    2. Mr. Heater Brass 90 Degree Elbow LP Accessory (Part # f273760) (www.walmart.com/ip/Mr-Heater-...)
    3. Catilon Safest 1 lb to 20 lb Propane Tank Adapter with Valve, Convert CGA600 to QCC/Type1 Male Connector, for BBQ Grill Propane Tree (Part # B0951MQYYM) (a.co/d/cGVdIo3)
    4. Aupoko Propane Cylinder Adaptor Convert, Portable 1LB Propane Tank Regulator Adapter with QCC Type1 Connector, 1"-20UNEF Throwaway Flexible Hose Line Adapter for Barbecue Grill (Part # B08KG9BWDM) (a.co/d/fCsC6Zw)

A propane distribution tree would accomplish the same thing, get the lantern higher and allow you to connect 2 additional propane appliances all while being less expensive than all those individual pieces

FYI the 1lb cylinders can be recycled now. I have a 5lb tank that we take camping and to the beach or mountains when we rent a house. We use that tank for grills. For light we generally take 4 white gas lanterns. Easy to use no worry about batteries and last longer than propane. Why jump through all the hoops, when a reliable white gas lantern solves all the problems?
