My first AR was a complete rifle by Olympic Arms and that was over two decades ago. For my second AR I decided to build it myself partly to learn how things worked and went together and partly to purchase the parts as I could afford them. I couldn't be happier with the results. Great videos! I'm glad I found your channel.
+Ready Vegas I agree with your comment 100% Vegas! I got my first factory, I learned a lot and when I was ready I decided to try out a build. I like building better now. You can set your rifle up, the way you want it.
Yeah you can save a ton building your own, but as I am finding out, you wind up spending more to replace low quality parts. I've had to replace aluminum gas block and am waiting for a steel barrel nut. Hell, the steel gas block I bought had mismatch set screws and I had to hit up my local hardware store for those!
I built my first AR,..striped lower anyway,.. Then I bought a lower parts kit and built it up then ordered a complete upper. Total of $510.00 total not a great savings but I got a hands on learning of the lowers internals,... and the complete upper allowed me to not have to worry about head spacing,..and they're usually even tested fired .. at least Del-ton is, and I can free float it later should I so choose,... Just something else to consider,...

It’s better to build because you’ll always get what you want instead of buying a new one and still having to swap stuff out

"This is the part that you have to register". Uh, no, no you don't. there is no national gun registry, and you should know better.
+Elliott Mazur Yes the 4473, You fill out the form, do your background check, then that document goes somewhere and is stored for records.
+JnJ Outdoors it's still not a registration
