I've had my GT 3 Pro for a year now and I love it, I still get 14 days battery life, Samsung does'nt come close. The GT 3 Pro just does'nt scratch, I wear it every day and I work on cars, still looks new.
Hey I am thinking about buying the watch and have got a question. Can you use GPS on this watch completely without a smartphone? I am pretty sure I once saw on the official website of Huawei that it requires a phone to use GPS. For me, it is hard to believe and I cannot think of running with such an expensive watch and taking a phone with me just to use GPS on my watch. So here is my question, can you use GPS on it while running, swimming, etc. without taking your phone with you? Thanks in advance!
@kickgob3540 Unfortunately, it will only work with the phone. I don't take my phone with when running but when I return from the run, the watch transfers the info to my phone, and I can view my run on the map.

The most comprehensive comparison I've seen! Thank for the in-depth video. I wouldn't consider one of these watches a winner because different people have different needs. Of course, we would want the best of both these devices but for some, the battery life would be more valuable than apps. Or vice versa. A classic look may trump a modern look. Personally, battery life and a classic look is king.
Main points are forgoten to mention....huawei watch 3 pro can be used even without phone.... Has LTE and wifi connectivity.... It dont need any phone to work... You can sideload any apks in to watch 3...
Something very important is that if the huawei is more beautiful and the battery lasts an eternity 10 days without problems. But the functions of the watch 5 pro are on a whole different level.

Huawei Watch 3 Pro 1. It is way way more premium . Huawei is like a premium classy watch vs a Swatch ( Samsung) . It is an accessory after all, it should look premium, or at least cool . If I would buy it only for sport reasons there is Garmin and nothing else 2. Battery is way, way, way better than any Samsung watch ( Watch 4 classic hardly took me an entire hard day with training, calls on watch, alarms, AOD , notifications etc etc) 3. Display is way more beautifull ( I don't understand how ) 4. It is way , way more responsive, it is like a flagsip smartphone. Samsung responds like a first generation smartphone.... 5. Sensors are better : heartrate, gps, etc 6. Has ROTATING LATERAL BUTTON - extremely satisfying to use vs Samsung just got rid of it's rotating bezzel 7. The speakers are way better than Samsung's 8. Way, way more watch faces and better Galaxy Watch 5 Pro 1. You can write messages 2. You can see images and emoji in messages 3. Google Apps 4. Calendar 5. ECG out of the box in all countries 6. Google Assistant 7. NFC out of the box 8. During exercise you can go out and check other apps without closing the exercise app 9. Better AOD
ecg is not out of the box in all countries and so is blood pressure. in some countries we have to use the mod version of samsung health monitor which ***** up the bluetooth connection between the watch and phone!

I wish an MD doc Cardiology expert tested them for ECG with a real ECG lead. Many people with small or serious heart issues want to know about ECG feature. Imagine you have some heart pain and you are in a cafe. getting an accurate reading even from a single lead ECG is valuable for the patients doc...
Its much dimmer on the GT3 Pro and also the AOD is wash out and doesn't look good. For example the AOD of a beautiful analog watch face is tinny digital clock.

In WhatsApp you can only see the caller but can’t pick the call on the watch and can’t talk through the watch. For GPS tracking you can use Petal Maps to track your journey through the watch.
If there would be a classic edition in watch 5 there would no comparison between them in terms of function also just like galaxy 4 classic was better than huawei watch gt2 pro
I used the hyawei gt runner for two weeks and i returned it, missing sooooo much on it. Looks like an unfinished product. The wallet not available in canada is pathetic and makes a smart watch not that smart in 2022. They only pro i found on it is the battery life but thats it.

ECG is on the huawei watch and blood pressure on samsung is crap and you got to set it up qith your blood pressure monitor, so only as good as the blood pressure monitor you have. Thd Sansung hr tracking is poor and you never tested or mentioned these. I am going to get the Huawei due to it has thr best hr tracking out there or as good as Apple, which is the bench mark or smart watches
I'm glad you made this point. I'm more interested in accurate heart rate and blood pressure readings than being able to install stupid apps that I would never use on a watch. Probably the best watch for measuring is the Omron but it's a lot more expensive and less available.

Opinions on looks are very subjective and even though I personally 100% agree with him, I'm still more than likely going to get Galaxy 5 Pro simply because of software advantages. If Harmony OS had Google Pay equivalent and Spotify at least, then I'd probably get GT 3 Pro. The only thing I'm not sure Phil got right is the amount of RAM he said GT 3 Pro has. It has been confirmed that it has 4GB Built-in storage and 32MB RAM (yes MB, not GB)), which is kind of ridiculous nowadays and I've seen reviews of how much quicker things are installed on the Galaxy 5 Pro compared to GT 3 Pro. The difference is up to 30 seconds for the same watch face, which is just unacceptable. And yes, Apple watches are indeed ugly. Very ugly, but very good watches, but that's just my opinion of course.
had the samsung watch 5 pro toy for one week and got rid of it coz of the messed up spo2 algorithm and poor sleep analysis and overall unstability! got the huawei watch 3 pro and yes there is no ecg or blood pressure monitoring and no bmi and no remote connection but huawei 3 pro is much more stable and reliable and with adb commands lots of apk,s can be installed. huawei 3 pro wins.

I'm also a big fan of smartwatches, collecting smartwatches like apple watches, galaxy watches, Huawei watch / GT series, Tickwatch, etc. I LOVE every watches I own, they all have their own unique advantage.

In all fairness in my opinion the watch5 Pro in black does not look nearly as premium as the titanium raw finish version. The titanium roar version along with the tannish Gray band looks amazing. And I'm a woman with a 6.2 inch wrist. This is my first smartwatch as I'm coming off of 11 years of every iteration of Fitbit. The Huawei is not a wash I would have ever have bought because it's a very masculine looking watch.. In my opinion they watch five Pro titanium raw looks great on a woman's wrist. The Black titanium looked very masculine.. I throw a couple of stretchy beaded bracelets on my arm with a watch and it mixes right in with my fashion when I'm at play.

I went for the black titanium because I don't like the black bezel on the Grey one.
