You are totally right and no the upgrades from GT4 and GT5 mean that you definitely don't need to upgrade if you have the previous. Sensors are better but not enough to reinvest.
Used to have a Samsung, then 2 Fitbits, then 2 Garmins. Have had 2 Huawei watches so far, and the quality and battery life of the Huaweis is exceptional. Not to mention their build quality, designs, their bright and colourful screens, heart rate accuracy, variety of free watch faces, etc, etc. the Fitbits were fine I.t.o. battery life, but they both failed after only a year of use, which I am sure is due to planned obsolescence by Fitbit. So after coming to my GT Runner and GT4 from watches with shockingly bad battery life or really feeble construction I just couldn’t go back now. I use both of my Huawei watches, swapping them out as required, eg. I use the GT Runner for hard and sweaty gym workouts that really give the watch a beating, and I wear the GT4 for both casual and work settings, as I can swap out the watch straps to suit the occasion.
Ive just got the GT 5 replacing the pixel watch. The battery life on the pixel was just too bad for me, i also found it irritated my skin. The only thing i miss is the google assistant. Im using the GT 5 with the pixel phone with no issues.
Yes, I totally agree.Having the assistant on the watch is fantastic.But you do get used to not having it. it is interesting that you had a skin reaction also to the watch.
that rash reaction on your wrist is possibly due to the material of the band, i had that issue with my amazfit gtr, and since i changed to metal bands the issue dissapeared, i will give warning to people that work in labs near iritating chemicals, iw your watch has a plastic back and some of the cemicals spill under it it will cause a reaction with your skin.
Thanks, was just looking at nfc payments watch but battery life is a major concern if it's going to last less than a day with normal usage. It's 2024, that's unacceptable. Hopefully Huawei can do more with their nfc payments ecosystem outside of China soon.

279 euros. Holy mother… I just ordered the GT5 here in Thailand(American expat) for $154. And got free earbuds that I see are priced at $60 on Amazon in the US(freebuds Se). So, was like I got the watch for ~$100. I guess was a decent bargain then. Shows how much western companies rob their customers. The watch probably worth ~$50 and the rest of the price are all likely tariffs and middlemen profits and probably $1-5 in actual transport costs. Nvm the $500 on the Google watch… ludicrous. huge chunk of cash going straight to the Indian CEO’s golden parachute I’m sure. China def gets a bad rap while western companies are who are really robbing you imo. I guess I lucked out during a multitude of factors. Asians even Thais like their name brands and Huawei isn’t one; I’m sure most Thais like Apple. And the gt5 pros are sold out while the gt5 seems less popular here, so likely discounted since the perceived lesser model. Huawei being banned in a lot of countries with all the anti-China sentiment probably not doing well for sales of Huawei. Post-new year’s sale. And huawei promotion on the free earbuds. And I even got free shipping with a platform coupon. I hate even the supposed 9 day battery on my old Garmin fenix 6S pro solar which in reality I have to charge minimum every 2 days now… so, Apple, Google, Samsung etc., are all no-gos for me. I bought the watch on impulse at 3:00 in the morning… was looking for validation online that I didn’t overpay while half asleep. 😅
Im in the market for a smart watch, id like something that allows me to make calls on it, accesses whatsapp and had good battery life but also does well with the fitness and sleep tracking side of things, what watch would you recommended? Pixel for me looks too much like a kids watch and isn't as nice lookingnas many others onnthe market.

Why are you bashing pixel watch for weak battery? All the smartwatches last day or two- apple, samsung, pixel, ir they have full watch os integration. Take mobile, smartphone, they all last day max 2. but if you take dumbphone, nokia whatever phone- ut can last for a month. It just irrelevant
You are right although that is why my entire video is not about the battery life. They should be able to last longer by now but they don't. If we don't demand more for our money we won't get it.
@@marcelontechhi mate I know the exact issue on the rash, I have the exact same issue on the pixel watch 2 but not original pixel watch and put it down to then changing the charging from a magnetic puck to a 4 pin connector and myself being allergic to Nickel and the 4 contact pins containing nickel. The pixel watch 2 and 3 look to be using the same charging method

Thank you but from assessing this it was definitely only from the underside of the watch itself. The band was comfortable and not at all irritating.
Can I take phone calls on the GT 5? or just notification?
Yes this is the cool thing. You can totally take and make very good quality calls via the watch.

No NFC payments on Huawei for the foreseeable future. The pixel watch will last a day for sure don't get me wrong but not more than 2.

Exactly right. It does have a payment system but currently only enabled the Chinese market.

Good question and they are some what variable but I would say they are both very reliable. The GPS in Huawei is a little more superior.
