When I took delivery of my R8, he showed me that there are latches on each side of the hood as well as in the middle. You are supposed to push down on the sides and feel them latch. Then you do the middle last. I am not too thrilled with the placement of the dead pedal. It is too far to the right and I move my leg around a lot to accommodate some knee discomfort. Other than that, I love my car. Oh, when the wheel is turned all the way (to the left for sure), there is a weird sound and sensation like something is rubbing. I haven't had it long enough to know if it's a temperature related thing or a real problem. The tires could be out of round and rubbing. Time will tell when the weather improves I can drive it again.

Love the R8 Spyder I have a black one with red interior 2018 of course only thing I don't like is where the damn cup holder is if you lift up and there's your cup holder and put a cup in it your arm is basically in the way of your cup other than that I enjoy it

I currently have a 2018 M4 Convertible. I’m really looking into an R8 V10 Plus coupe. I’m anticipating that the R8 will drop in price once the next gen comes out.

Close the cup holder lid, it's like driving with the glove box open.
Glove box lid obscures getting into the car. Open cup holder lid obscures nothing.

Nice review. Wonder if Audi got its ac sorted out, a bunch of Audi R8. Have an ac compressor that fails and the need to pull motor out, just to service the a/c. The magna suspension I’ve heard leaks. Any deeper knowledge on that

Hi Mike, I bought a 2020 R8 Spyder with MagRide--Amazing, perfect ride; comfort and sport---car always flat and reactive--always ready, nimble and light. Buy a convertible R8, I had a coupe before and the experience of a v10 can only be appreciated without a top. (I put a Kline Inconel exhaust on as well but regular exhaust is fantastic too--Im just looking for old F1 sound). Cheers and good luck.

One question, Porsche GT or this v10?
Not sure which Porsche you mean, but there really isn't a comp except perhaps a 911 Turbo S. If that's the question, the R8 is a supercar that makes each drive a special occasion. In comparison, a 911 Turbo S is just a very fast 911.

Totally different cars. The GT3 is a hard edged track car. R8 is a comfortable supercar. I'm not a fan of hard riding track cars on the street, so I'd got R8.
I would say if you want speed and just a fancy look the Porsche I have the Cayman s but if you want to speed up comfortable just unbelievable power the R8

The climate control doesn't turn off when the roof goes down it goes to the last setting that you had when you put the roof down

Well, I spent a week driving one and it was a total epidemic around here. The news reported drivers going blind all over town. Crazy. I made the mistake of telling my neighbour about the laser headlights and I think he told the police. He's a jealous wanker, but I might be screwed.
I hate blinding headlights and currently it's the Acuras' LED headlights but at least it doesn't do the Superman laser eyes to burn out my eyeballs.
This Audi does. Crazy. Should be illegal.
