Now you made this look very easy for sure, especially getting it up there on the very first try. And it makes for some beautiful lighting up in the tree and down below. Thanks for sharing my friend.
Ha ha, I have hung many of these over the last few years when we started hanging these in the trees in my neighborhood. This one' however, surprised me as last year it took 3 throws before it went over the right branch!
BASIA! While I'm impressed with your tutorial on the hanging of the balls...? I'm SUPER impressed with those GUNS you have! Excellent shape you're in...you could NEVER be cast as a helpless female in a horror movie!
Love these lighted globe balls. It creates lots of light and gets you in the Christmas mood for sure. Love Sammy! You are so funny. Glad to see so much excitement on your first try! I was waiting for Sammy to grab the string lol. Looks like a lot of work but definitely worth it in the end.
I have managed with a few revisions to this method to get some lights upwards of 30 feet (+/- 5 feet) in my trees. I use a tighter weight (old brass lock painted to see better) and I use high test fishing line(80 lb or more) first (then use it to pull over the more friction ropes). Great Video.
Now for your next video, how to stop butts from stealing your Christmas lights... I want the near lethal version (not safe for UA-cam audiences lol). Too gruesome a subject?, how about how to not get killed by limbs you pull off your tree? Perhaps how to store 40 huge spheres in your shed and manage to still walk in? How about how to unknot that killer knot that always forms. Maybe a video on how to find your kids to help you hang lights once they know what you are up to? Maybe a video on how to not look too kooky to your neighbors when they catch you at midnight still hanging lights?
NEXT TIME HANG IT UPSIDE DOWN SO THAT YOUR EXTENSION CORD IS AT THE TOP AND NOT BOTTOM AND HANGING DOWN UNDER YOUR ORNAMENT. YOU CAN TIE YOUR STRING TO THE EXTENSION CORD END AND IT WILL ONLY REQUIRE A FEW MORE FEET SO YOU CAN HIDE THE CORD AROUND THE TREE AND THROUGH ANY BUSHES. HOPE THIS HELPS. IVE LEARNED THE HARD WAY LOL..MAYBE I HAVE GIVEN YOU SOMETHING HELPFUL TO USE.
Hi Kate, I made this video as I was participating in a lighted ball making workshop last Saturday here in my neighborhood. We had a nice turnout and my 2 videos were for reference in case anyone forgot a step!
Hi Federico, hanging lighted balls in trees started several years ago in my neighborhood. There are more and more being hung each year and the neighborhood looks magical when it gets dark outside. All you see are lights suspended in the air! Have a great weekend!
Thanks Mari! I made this video in preparation for a lighted ball workshop n my neighborhood I participated in. People learned how to make them and also how to hang them in the tree. Videos were for reference in case someone forgot a step or two!
That looks lovely and what a good idea.just a word of caution i would not recommend using indoor extension cords outside you should have an outdoor one, because if it gets wet and you unplug that would give a shock.just stay safe im not sure what set up it is with the cords but enjoy!
Hi, safety is always number one with me! Everyone in my neighborhood is encouraged to hang these in their trees so that it looks magical at night. Have a great weekend.
Hi Nancy, no big secret here at all just many hours at the gym every day, weights at least 5 times per week, cardio every day of the week (walking, stair step & row machines). Not much sitting for me, it's about being very active every day.
Hi Liz, yep, got it on the first throw! These lights look beautiful at night, soon everyone in the neighborhood will be hanging theirs out for Christmas. Very peaceful and magical just walking or driving through the neighborhood and seeing all the lights just suspended in the air! I made this video as I participated in a lighted ball workshop today to teach neighbors how to make them and how to hang them on a tree and they all could just check out the videos in case they forgot a step.
Thank you! Lots of traffic to my how to make lighted balls video and people want to know how to get them in the tree! I sure lucked out getting it up there on first throw! Thanks for watching
Hi, we all do this in my neighborhood, it started on one street and then took off so driving around here at Christmas time at night looks absolutely beautiful! Never played baseball so I guess it's my strong arm!
Very pretty! I thought no way are you going to throw that up in the tree! Nice job! It took me awhile to realize you are in or near Raleigh! Geography isn't my strong suit! Anyway, I have a sister there. She works for GE.
Great Leone, yes, in Raleigh, and your sister works down the street from me! Small world. As far as getting that target up that tree, well I got it on my first throw!
on sunday we have 'bon-fire night or guy fawkes night'. it's where we have huge firework displays and huge bonfires lighting up the sky and it can be seen by the astronauts on the space station. it's rather grisly and strange that we celebrate it. because 'guy fawkes' was burnt on the stake for trying to blow up our 'houses of parliament'. we get to eat loads of crusty bread, cheese and pickles. talking of pickles. i had the recipe for american bread and butter pickles and am totally addicted to it. great idea with the string and bottle. i'll try that with the firework we have, called 'the katherine wheel'. it spins around like a windmill and lasts for a couple of minutes.
Thank you E! These look wonderful at Christmas time, suspended from the tall trees, very magical. Most homes in my neighborhood do this. I made this video as on Saturday I participated in the lighted ball making workshop in my neighborhood. The 2 videos I have are for reference in case some participants forgot how.
It looks beautiful! It all started on one street and then everyone started doing the same. Our HOA sponsored the workshop for all those who wanted to learn how to make them. I am asked each year to come and help at the workshop. It's a lot of fun and everyone goes home with their lighted ball and ready to make more!
Hi, so no one punctured anything (including their fingers) making these balls at this workshop. All these people were amazed how easy it was to make one, ready to go home and make more. It was a good day!
Looks great! Good video! I ran the extension cords from ABOVE and had to climb the tree to hang mine. Check out my video if you are curious how I did it.
I remember this ball of light. Hello my friend :) It's always nice to see and hear from you again. Now watching all 😀
Hi Darren, thanks for watching!

That's a cool light ball you built Basia, it looks very nice hanging way up on your tree.
Thank you! Our neighborhood looks magical at night!

Ha ha, yes, got it up there on the first try! Sammy was out there because of that yellow twine, cats & string!
Finally got the pleasure to know who's the owner of such beautiful enchanted voice.
Thank you so much, I appreciate it! Have a great weekend

Hi Joe & Donna, hoping to see you soon on the beach!
