Ireland's wrote very fine music- romantic, virtuosic, cinematic at times, and substantial although may not have been innovatove in his time. Along with the music of York Bowen I would regard him as English 'Rachmaninov'. In this I can certain hear the influence of French music such as Debussy. The playing is fantastic, bravo.
This music is so beautiful. I really want to hear more of John Ireland's work. Thanks so much for providing this calming interlude to my day.
What a lovely piece of music. I have only heard John Irelands music with symphonic orchestra or brass band before.
Listen to his piece called :"The Almond 🌲." You're in for a treat.
This is very fine and original piano music of the twentieth century and should be much better known today
I agree
