Uh. Slavery and gross mistreatment of other HUMANS occurred throughout history. People simply don't care about anything if it is more convenient or profitable NOT to care about a thing. You see the same thing with climate change now... Most people agree burning coal is a bad idea given how bad off the earth is and how much worse its getting every year, but people who have a financial incentive in continuing to burn coal (like coal miners, people who own coal power plants, etc) all continue to fight to burn coal and shut down alternatives whenever possible. Greed is the one true king of mankind. So long as there is a benefit to being terrible to people, or animals, people will continue to do so.
True but considering evrything that you can do with animal speak it would be hard to do much on all 4s or wings insted of hands but still a cool thought.
I'm just as impressed. You could play a Diplo character with SWA and bypass quite a bit of the game blocked by animals. I wish I had that level of dedication that Larian does. No wonder BW3 took so long.
You can do a LOT of fucked up shit in this game. And yet, somehow, convincing a dog that it only has so many runs in its life before it runs out is the cruelest thing of all.
There needs to be a ring that grants this ability sort of like the talk to dead amulet. Mostly so I can have a berserker barbarian and still be able to talk to animals without having to hoard scrolls.
@@ColonelBragg you wanted a feature that speaks to animals, wildheart "has that", or go fucking druid/ranger, better yet, take ritualistic caster feat gives you the option to choose ritual spells, pick speak with animal, problem solved. Berserker as a subclass, is great, tons of damage dished, survivability in a campaign that takes you to hell? eh good luck surviving there as a melee class fighting elementals and demons lobbing firebolt/fireball/burning hands in your face, unless you're a tiefling/red dragonborn that is. Totem warrior is d&d name for wildheart, exact same feature, but you don't know that since your immediate reply is "Wildheart sucks" its apparent you're pretty clueless, while in truth its among many of the more useful subclass for a party. 6th level allows an animal aspect, no darkvision? go eagle aspect, want to be a sneaky like a rogue, wolf aspect has that. Druid initiate at level 4? It will definitely gimp your potential damage and a better solution is to have another companion with speak with animals but it could work if you’re willing to pay the cost.
@@yellowbeard1 I wish the level cap was 20 instead of 12, Then I could just throw 12 classes into barbarian and 8 into druid sort of like how I'd do it in a DnD game.

They just want scratches. 🥲 If you know where the dogs are I'd certainly appreciate the help. :)
You can actually recruit the Strange Ox in the final battle if you talked to it in all 3 acts (Druid's Grove, Last Light Inn, and then finally the Rivendale stable)

PC games kinda suck compared to tabletop, you can't even ask a deer whether it did reproduce or not. In table top, you can at least ask if it did, then ask if it's progeny are adults or not, then ask for it's last words before feeding on it's flesh and returning it's blood to tree sappling's(which it just ate) parent. And comfort it by saying that you will try to protect the balance in this forest in which it's progeny lives. Then speak with the tree, inform it about the sappling take a seed if avalaible use druidcraft plant it, then take a branch from the tree to make arrows or a bow. Whole romance of animal speak and speak with plants is in their use though...So our understanding of romance seems to be different compared to Larian stuidios.

LMAO that pigeon reminded me of an ol animated movie called Valiant starring John Cleese and Tim Curry. Def worth it just for that LOL
You'd expect animal rights to be fairly advanced in a world where you can actually speak with them
There's not much you can do when you stand on all fours or have wings instead of hands.
