The berries should have been refrigerated with jello first to start to set up. Then, added to the bottom of the pie and again allowed to fully set before adding the cream cheese mixture on top.
My dad used to make something similar to this for holidays, but with canned pears, lime jello, cream cheese, whipped cream and put into a green plastic mold. Then refrigerated, totally "old school" because that was in the '60's but yummy. 😁
You didnt give the boiling water enough time to dissolve the jello, thats why its gritty. It wont dissolve once you introduced fzn berries, no matter how much you stir.
This is a variation of a Jello recipe topped with the cream cheese mixture. Used to frost the jello. My family used crushed pineapple, blueberry pie filling and black cherry jello. My mom has been making this for 50 years. However, she doesn’t use jello. You can replace the jello/frozen fruit mixture with canned pie filling. Blueberry and cherry pie fillings are especially good and, for what it’s worth, your desert will be easier to make pretty because you won’t have jello running all over the place. My mom’s recipe is called Cherry (or Blueberry) Cream Cheese Pie. Obviously, you can only make only half of the cream cheese/cool whip mixture and assemble just one pie.
Or maybe she/anyone could refrigerate the hello mixture until it starts to be soft set plus cool down. That should reduce the runniness of the hot liquid Jello. Pie filling does sound easier

This looks like it would be yummy with ingredients, however to make more appetizing I agree with a couple of the comments. Maybe let the blueberry jello mixture jell before spooning over cream mixture, or put some to the bottom and spoon some to the top in a decorative fashion. Once its jelled if you spoon in the middle it wont be as runny. But other then that, thanks for sharing the idea.💙

Oh man I can think of a good variation on this! Make a graham cracker or butter cookie crust for two 9x13 glass pans and spread it out. Mix the blueberries with the jello in a bowl and then pour it into the 9x13 pans. Refrigerate and let set. THEN…mix the cream cheese mixture and divide over the two pans. Decorate with a sprinkle of topping of your choice like chopped nuts or cookie crumble or skip topping altogether. I bet that would taste good and look appealing ❤

You are way too funny and such a real person to see on UA-cam ha ha I’m going to try your blueberry recipe tomorrow I can’t wait and I am sending you loving thoughts every step of my new recipe. Thank you for you.
You can get fancier and add a layer of pudding w/ fruit. I like to make this in a glass pyrex ( rectangle). I grind up walnuts or pecans, add a lil sugar and melted butter and make a crust for the bottom layer. Just bake the walnut mix for few minutes. Then make the cream cheese and add some berries and whipping cream( I prefer the real whipping cream). Spread that over walnut crust. Make the jello of choice, using a lil less water then it calls for. Let it cool a bit . Then pour over cream cheese layer. Refrigerate until jello is set up. You can throw in some berries at that point. Then make pudding( vanilla is fine if there's no flavor match to your berry of choice). Use a lil less milk than it calls for.Mix pudding ....then fold in some of the whip cream and lightly mix. Spread over the cream cheese layer. Then top with whipped cream and some berries. You can make the "crust" layer outta cookies( ground into crumbs), pretzels, nuts,etc... Or combo different things. Like vanilla wafers and cereal of choice. All no bake!!
It looks delicious...just wondering why not fill the pie crust with the jello and frozen blueberries...then the cream cheese on top with a few blue berry's in the middle for garnish
The original recipe was on the graham cracker pie crust pkg. I think. I first had this in the late 60's, it was made with cherry pie filling and she called it Cherry Delight. My Mother in law made it. As a teen I thought it was great. She didn't use Jello in hers. Can't stand it now. 😂 My own Mother never made this stuff.
Yum!! I'm going to create this for my next dessert. I love how you explained why ingredients need to be mixed a certain way. For the forth of July I'm going to add halved strawberries around the edges.. thank you for sharing this. My family loves blueberries!! 😊
You can also add frozen pink lemonade to the cream cheese mixture. Wonderful lemonade pie. I’ve never made it with jello but that’s basically a cheese cake that you can add any flavor of fruit to. We fix it all the time. But sorry I don’t like jello so I won’t make it this way.
My mom made this for years with blueberry pie filling and only the cream cheese filling, not the cool whip,or the jello, and we loved it, mom always called it Blueberry pizza! 😋 Yummy, but really its a blueberry cheesecake yumm!!!
It is very important when cooking that a dish looks good. You'd be well served to figure out what steps in the prepping stage can be taken so this dish looks a lot less messy and more appealing. Work on it. It can be done.❤
I'm in Canada and I make a no bake cheesecake that's similar. 1 pack of jello, 1/2 cup boiling water, whisk until gelatin dissolves. Beat 2 packs cream cheese and 1/4 cup powdered sugar until smooth and fluffy, add cooled jello mix,, and fold in whipped cream (2 cups measured before whipping), pour into precooked pie shells (any kind at all, I like making nilla cookie crusts), chill until set, serve with fresh fruit or whatever fruit you have on hand (I love fresh mango with strawberry jello cheesecake) and whipped cream.
Canada here and ive used the cream cheese part for no bake cherry cheesecake and its handsdown the BEST. Love. It and will never bake another cheesecake. Although you do have to bake your crust a wee bit. The only difference was i dont usually use pre made whipped topping but i have and theres not really much difference. I also wont say how many years ive made this. Im curious about the jello tho.
@robbsyre986 I'm not sure. My personal recipe is with crushed Graham wafers. And I actually do bake it for about ten minutes. I give it an egg wash first, but it's to help keep it all together when you serve it up.

@kimberlyaustin6677 hmm, maybe that's where my mom found it. Who knows. Once I made it with her a time or two I ended up making it for almost every holiday. It brings back really good memories.
I live in Georgia, it was a South East kind of dessert.
I made this for my kids all the time when they were growing up. It was their snack after school. You can use any fruit in this dessert.
This pie looks heavenly delicious. Thank you.
Wisconsin here. Sorry, but I've never seen this in my life. Not at any picnic, tailgate, potluck, bake sale, church basement, farmer's market, supper club, up north party or open garage party. And if it hasn't been seen in any of those places it's probably safe to say it doesn't exist in the midwest.
Michigan here, I’ve seen this many times and it’s yummy!
Maybe you just don't get out enough!
@@marilynotte7059lol you have not seen this in Michigan, PLEASE! 😅
@@Pandora819Traveled the world over, dear 😊
ILLINOIS HERE NEVER
It looks so delicious 😊.I will try that this weekend for my family and friends.
This is basically a no bake cheesecake.
That looks so deelish, and I especially love how it looks like clouds and blue sky. Mouth is watering!
Use the handle of a wooden spoon to dig a spiral inside the creamy part and that will create a really cool trough for the berries and jello.
Thank you for sharing your recipe. It looks delicious, can't wait to make😊
Dang this looks SO GOOD 👀👏👏👏
A definite have to make !!!
Looks Delicious 😋 Thank you for sharing this recipe.
You are way too funny and such a real person to see on UA-cam ha ha I’m going to try your blueberry recipe tomorrow I can’t wait and I am sending you loving thoughts every step of my new recipe. Thank you for you.
Fourth of July you could make a strawberry one a blueberry one and just a cream chz one for a red white and blue theme! Love this recipe!
My family always made cream cheese pies going back to the 70s but we put fruit pie filling on the top not jello.
Yes. Thank you for sharing. I love all ingredients that you used. I'll make this for my grandchildren
I plan on making this to serve my family Christmas 🎄 brunch!
This & home made bakedbeans are a win win adition to any meal! Ty & Merry Christmas!
Actually really pretty! Looks good.
Looks delicious gonna try this one... thank you for sharing.
It looks delicious...just wondering why not fill the pie crust with the jello and frozen blueberries...then the cream cheese on top with a few blue berry's in the middle for garnish
My brother in law made similar. Fresh blueberries & jello set up, in first, then topped with real whipped cream & cream cheese. 😋
That sounds delicious 😋
I just like that you really show us every detail thank you gonna try this!!!!!!
I've never heard of this pie before but I find this to be intriguing and looks delicious.
LOL No shortage of naysayers out there! Enjoy the pie!
This looks amazing!!!
Never heard or seen anything like it but looks delicious 😋
The original recipe was on the graham cracker pie crust pkg. I think. I first had this in the late 60's, it was made with cherry pie filling and she called it Cherry Delight. My Mother in law made it. As a teen I thought it was great. She didn't use Jello in hers. Can't stand it now. 😂 My own Mother never made this stuff.
I am going to make this!! Thank you for the recipe. I have to make something for my church and this will be perfect.
This looks so pretty and delicious. I am going to make this for sure!! Thank you
This is so pretty!
Looks delicious! I'm definitely going to make this! Thank you!
Added age that we reach IS TO BE PROUD OF‼️ WITH IT COMES WISDOM‼️🤩
I want to make it with strawberries, everyone loves strawberries, blueberries, only a few. Thanks for sharing this recipe! 😊
What a simple amazing desert. Thanks for sharing.
Great video! Thank you!
What in the smurfberry !!!!!
🤯🤯🤯
My kids would love this tho
This actually looks like a cloud pie and it looks sooo good! Ill have to make this
My mom made this for years with blueberry pie filling and only the cream cheese filling, not the cool whip,or the jello, and we loved it, mom always called it Blueberry pizza! 😋 Yummy, but really its a blueberry cheesecake yumm!!!
MA, VT, ME, and now FL. Been enjoying this for ages!
Looks great 👍🏾
Very well done ❤❤
It is very important when cooking that a dish looks good. You'd be well served to figure out what steps in the prepping stage can be taken so this dish looks a lot less messy and more appealing. Work on it. It can be done.❤
I’m from Wisconsin too. My Mom would make this pie she used Kool-Aid, Cool Whip and Cream Cheese with any flavor of kool-Aid. ❤
MUCH MUCH healthier to eat a cup of fresh organic blueberries!
I was wondering why she didnt bake the crust. Dangerous to eat raw flour isnt it?
@robbsyre986 I'm not sure. My personal recipe is with crushed Graham wafers. And I actually do bake it for about ten minutes. I give it an egg wash first, but it's to help keep it all together when you serve it up.
This looks delicious! Never heard of it but now I have! I think I'll make a substitution since I have frozen cherries and cherry Jell-O. This is going to be good!
THANK YOU DEAR I HAVE BEEN SEARCHING FOR THIS RECIPE FOR, SINCE I WAS NINE YEARS OLD 😢....THIS IS SO GOOD AN DIFFERENT, I'M SIXTY🎉🎉🎉BLESS THEM TALENTED HANDS❤
