****For Sale**** I'll make you a *great* deal! Contact me if interested: maverickwatchreviews@gmail.com. It's *discontinued* on G-Shock's UK site and *still sold out as of 8/7/23* on their Japanese & American websites as well. Turns out this is *not* a JDM model.
I’ve ordered the DW-5040RX-7ER as I love the retro transparent design and mainly because I turned 40 this year and it has my birth year all over it haha.
This is a very cool watch but definitely for collectors only. In terms of availability, I'm positive this will be available in the States eventually, as there is no way Casio would not sell an entire wave of anniversary Gs here. No shame in paying a little extra for a JDM variant though. Thanks for taking the time to post this.
The JDM one is significantly cheaper than the UK one that just had its own release a few days ago. I live in US, but after seeing that I'm gonna go JDM. The "limited" nature has got me wanting one asap just in case...
Does that happen with case resin, though? I have the Iridescent from last summer, and while the strap was yellow basically from the start, the case never changed. and the Casio site says these cases are made with the "first-ever use of a see-through case made of clear glass fiber diamide"
If I get this one, will it keep the value if I wear it like daily does the clear parts yellow or is this no problem? Or do I need to keep it in box to keep value?
@@maverickwatchreviews so would you rather recommend not to wear it? I’m not sure what to do, I‘m looking for a new watch and on the first look I really like this one. I don‘t want to waste that much money and I‘m worried that it might yellow because I am wearing it. What would you recommend me in this situation? Maybe other watches interesting? Thank You :)
Unless something has changed, they go yellow whether you wear it or not. So I would say wear and enjoy, because a year from now it's yellow. I haven't heard they've changed the resin, but who knows.
Call me old fashioned, yet I’d rather be able to read time on my watches. With all the “ohhh” and “wow” factors on this piece, they could have done something with that.

This is an odd strap, bc i think it's the first to have sorta-translucent links (like the case) instead of just a solid, transparent band.
I own the dw-5040rx-7d & like it so much it is one of my favorite watch.. The legibility is ok because it has a bright backlight.. the see through display is awesome & the all metal case with screwback is built like a tank.. also the transparent bezel & straps made the metal case pop.. I think it is geniusly made..
I thought the same then I realized that you can barely read the time, so it wouldn't make sense to have a more complex module. This is a very special anniversary watch that will be sold out all other the world pretty soon, that's what it is.

How do I get one?
E-mail me at the address above and make an offer.

Lol this is the FrankenG watch :)
Thx man for the work you put on your videos !

It's here in the states now and also sold out like it is in Japan.
I'm in the Philippines. This watch is available here in the official Casio store but they don't sell the entire transparent line.
Cool idea, but get cant past the yellowing that occurs with the translucent resin 😅

At least it's actually something different instead of changing the colors and calling it something new like Casio usually does for collabs..
If I get this one, will it keep the value if I wear it like daily does the clear parts yellow or is this no problem? Or do I need to keep it in box to keep value?
I'm keeping mine in the box and never wearing it.

It's up to you. I've heard that this generation of resin doesn't yellow but who knows. Mine is for sale btw.

Obscure watch . I appreciate the style but don’t know if I would collect this one.
Frankenstein 😂
What is the cheapest g shock square that has a sapphire crystal?
Only titanium g-shocks come with a sapphire glass.

I agree. The legibility is horrible but it's already sold out on G-Shock's Japanese and now American websites so I'm glad I got one.
yes you are old fashioned this is for fashionable kids like me
Bonito reloj Casio. 🤩🤩⌚️⌚️
Has it yellowed much?
Not at all. I think they're using a different compound. It's also for sale. Only been worn for the review.
So wacky. It's pretty cool though. This will either be a complete failure or a timeless classic in ten years.
Does the strap yellow?

I like G-Shocks in general but that is one ugly watch, lol but I am happy to see them having a little fun with the designs
Fair enough. It's not for everyone that's for sure but they are sold out in the US and Japan.

AE-1500 all day long
No atomic time and no solar.
99,8% of all wrist watches don’t have those either🤷♂️
@@kini5000n 2023, it’s cheap enough that they should.

A Designer got paid for this. Think about that
...and was paid well.. They're sold out in the US and Japan now.
@@maverickwatchreviewsit’s actually been discontinued in the U.K.
@@AlmostLastJedi Wow, just checked G-Shock's UK site and sure enough it says "discontinued". And it looks like it's sold out everywhere else.
I don't know? 🤔 Half resin and half stainless steel bracelet. I think I'll pass...
It might not be for everyone I get it :)
Just so you know not all of them are like that too all of the other models are fully crystal clear
It's cool, but not my style.

Oh Casio, no no no. Like toy watches.
Oh Casio yes, yes, yes. Great watches.
