The exact reason why you have to always treat a gun like its loaded. Because accidents happen, even to the pros.

Thank you! This would not have been a problem if the client understood gun safety. Not matter what malfunction, the gun was pointed in an unsafe direction.

i make sure people i shoot with have great muzzle control for this reason. malfunctions happen and when they do you need to be prepared.@@joshhorn5131

I was hunting wood ducks in flooded timber, we had to break ice to throw out decoys. Well when we were packing up and picking up the decoys I slipped into a deep spot and the water rushed into my waders. It was a hell of a time getting out and I’m glad I didn’t get hypothermia.

I was 14 and a guy took me out on my first duck hunt. We went to a public lake on a 12ft jon boat with 4 guys and a dog. I didn’t think it was a good idea, but was young and a follower and decided to go for it. Got past the no wake buoys and water poured over the back. Boat capsized and down we went! Every single one of us had waders on and couldn’t get them off. Our hands went numb and we couldn’t feel the shoulder straps. I was clinging to a gas can until I felt the bottom side of the boat sticking out of the water. We were in the water for about 20 minutes until by the grace of god a bass fisherman showed up at 5:30 in the morning. He heard us screaming and saved our lives. We all had hypothermia and were told a few more minutes and we wouldn’t have made it. This was in the middle of January and the water temp was about 45 degrees.

Recently I was quail hunting in a very secluded part of the desert, I had my truck and cooler and camping gear set up not far from where I was bird hunting.
Two guys in a truck are coming down the road behind me and spot my truck, and they decide to set up shop 40 yards from my truck and start targeting shooting.
Obviously, a truck with camping gear and nobody around implied that there is a person somewhere in the area. But of course, they pick a spot next to my truck with no backstop and start randomly shooting rifles and shotguns in my direction.
As soon as I start hearing bullets whirling past me, I fire off 3 shells into an embankment to try and make them aware there is another person. They didn’t stop shooting. I become livid, jump down into a small wash and that’s when I hear the shot from the shotguns come tearing through the brush right over me. I managed to set my trucks car alarm off which stopped their shooting for about 2 minutes. I turn the alarm off and they get right back to shooting. These guys are truly morons. At this point I’m recording with my phone incase I need legal proof of what happened, I make my way up the wash about a quarter mile and then wrap back around towards my truck. I can’t call a warden or anything because there’s no cell service.
I get back to my truck and these guys ask “any luck”? I told them they were shooting at me for the past 20 minutes. They froze and became defensive, saying that this is a stupid place to hunt and they’ve been shooting here for 20 years. I told them they’re on public land, they have no idea what’s beyond their target, they aren’t using a backstop, there’s an empty truck next to them. They said “fuck off”.
Never in my life had my patience been tested like that. I left. As soon as I got into cell service which was a couple miles down the road, I called the warden. He showed up, I showed him the video, he told me to leave and that he’d handle it. I never found out what happened.
    Don’t be like those guys.

My buddy was using an old bolt action 12 gauge and the firing pin was gummed up. Flock of ducks came in, he pulled the trigger, gun didn't shoot. I dropped a duck so I walked out to retrieve it and all the sudden same thing happens the water exploded right by me. He was trying to figure out what had happened to his gun and the firing pin finally broke loose and fired like 30 seconds after the trigger pull.

    1. ALWAYS know where your gun is pointed. 2. Never bring a gun you know has problems on a hunt. Figure that crap out at a range or safe environment

Almost drown on a solo duck hunt trying to find the first drake mallard I had ever killed never found the bird but fell tru a grass mound in the swamp having my gun in my hand was the only thing that got me back out because everything u pushed on just fell apart and u would fall back tru and my waiters were full of water so I was 2x my weight scary experience but im glad to be alive and I don’t recommend hunting in a swamp alone unless u know where all the never trails and deep spots and of the whole swamp

When I was 16 my dad had shot 2 deer and needed help dragging them out the woods . So on my way out all I hear is cracking and crunching and and “EEERRRRENNNNNNNTTTT” . My dad starts yelling my name and instantly I took off running and slid behind a tree and BAM ,a tree hit the tree I was behind . So watch out for falling trees! I didn’t know where it was falling from but I ran right in its direction and scared the sh*t out of my dad !
