Always down for some MTG story time. For some reason I keep expecting them to have Bolas involved in things somehow. After hearing this story all I can think is dang it please no more stories about Ravnica. 😂
Opening the omen paths could be a potential way to channel the leylines directly to ravnica, making him the most powerful. If he hasn't lost his mind and is too greedy, i bet he is preparing for the eldrazzi locked away in the moon of innistrad. Chandra was able to burn the eldrazzi, and a dragon connected to most of the multi-planar leylines would be possible to eliminate the awaiting threat.
Given that the next arc is the Dragonstorm arc I suspect we're going to see some hubris unfold and the plan not go exactly as Niv hopes. (Yes it also features the Return to Tarkir, which also likely plays a role in the name, but I suspect it will be a name that applies on multiple levels)
Maybe the storm that created the Dragons on tarkir some how is spread to other planes because of something Niv did likely do to a deal with the elder dragons 🐉 of that plane and the omen paths.
Although it fits Niv-Mizzet's mo to concern himself with research over a petty murder I'm not satisfied with this. I found it more of a convenient excuse being used. Especially with Aurelia so out of line she almost went to war. I will admit his plans are impressive and inspiring and I fully support his goals of making Ravnica the center of the multiverse Niv-Mizzet will always equal #1 😌
Red and Blue both seem to already think they are the best, most representative colors of magic so of course the dragon leader of Izzet would be the living guildpact over all the guilds.
@@AetherHub I truly love Niv, but I've always felt his ego would eventually lead him into a very dark place... It kinda feels like he's detached from the things he used to care about. Only time will tell

I always thought of niv mizzit as an annoying character and his designs have never interested me. His latest design looks just as bad but i guess to each their own.
Niv-Mizzet is older than dirt, hyper intelligent, vain, and powerful. He knew Azor, has known about planeswalkers for millennia, collaborated with Ugin, and has always known more than he lets on. If the multiverse suddenly changed following an interplanar invasion and pathways to unknown worlds abruptly began to open, I would totally expect the Firemind to find a way to protect and position “his” world.
@@magic_claw The world is clearly already a target as it’s been invaded TWICE in short succession. If he made Ravnica the nexus of interplanar travel AND did so impartially he would ensure that other planes have to come to their aid when aggressed upon. If they didn’t they’d leave the aggressor with access to everywhere and anywhere in the multiverse. Therefore he effectively will force other planes to defend Ravnica if they want to protect themselves. That actually seems like a pretty good idea to me.
I feel like his plan of making ravnica the center of the multiverse just stupid. It’s always been dominaria. And if dominaria fell, so do the other planes. So now what?
Dominaria was not always the center of the multiverse the creator of magic the gathering hinted at this so the center of the multiverse always changes or changes eventually.
Before this video, I thought that "The Living Guildpact was just a title. A meaningless thing that grants only a perceived sense of status and power on Ravnica. Now I know otherwise.
