lol
fr i could never do that
i guess it is kinda off topic but does anyone know of a good place to watch newly released series online?
@Lincoln Judson Flixportal xD
@Adan Finnley thanks, I went there and it seems like they got a lot of movies there :D I really appreciate it!!

this would've worked better if Fernando was an outfielder, but this man is playing shortstop. Didn't quite work.
If you are going to do it at short you can’t ask him questions just let him talk through what he is doing.
James Floriolli oh that would’ve been a great way to do it. Just let the man think out loud. Brilliant
Might as well mike up the pitcher and catcher too...
Or like a 1st baseman. He was probably super distracted lol
Dwayne Mcdowell idk if it would be very entertaining for you unless you know spanish 🤷🏻♂️
everybody: hey guys we want more micd up it's so fun!
MLB: gives them what they want
everybody: eww they're distracting him so much this is not good man.

I mean partially I don't mind the commentators talkin to them, but I like the mic'd up's bc you get to hear the players talk and interact which is better to me
Mic’d up and get the footage after the game. Not actually talk to them.
Tatis is some kind of special but it is lame to be peppering him silly questions while he is trying to field. Also, that ball didn't get past him when he went to cover second, the was an errant throw E-2.
Definitely. The ball was 6ft to the right of second base
@@drealboy_ Hows it feel to start Week 1?

This kid is just amazing.... him and mike trout and betts and the other guys that are playing good today are the face of baseball.
These are things that baseball need so people that are like 10 to 25, 30 so baseball can grow and be back to his old form (30,000 people on every stadium)

I thought more mic'd up players during the season would be cool, but this may have soured me on the idea, at least while they are in the field. Even Bryce Harper last week seemed to have a hard time splitting his focus with the questions, and he was just standing in right field. The shortstop has to react to 100 mph Exit Velocity to the point that he has to be moving before the guy even hits the ball. He also has to manage the other defensive players, defend an entire side of the field, and cover second on a throw from the catcher. Silver lining tho is that we get to see just how involved his job is. Came away more impressed with Tatis, if that was even possible, to do be able to do all of that AND an interview. I think maybe I just didn't like the grilling interrogation that could have distracted him. "What are your favorite drills to prepare for hitting?"!!?? I mean, i did enjoy the hair question. That was good tv.
How often have they been doing this type of interview? I like it, I am thinking if I had money on the game especially if all my money was on the Padres I would not like this.
I think it's only the weekend ESPN games maybe. Not really sure, I've only seen it a few times. I think I wouldn't have a problem with it if they weren't asking him in-depth questions that he has to really think about while having to concentrate on the game. Like if it was a loose fun conversation it would be more ideal. And also the A's are just a tough team.
You typed a whole essay 😂
I know social media wants short, quick takes, but I can't help it.

Love the guys at mlb. Great replays and love when you mic up players. Hope you can do more!
This guy undoubtedly brings a new life to the game of baseball.
Tatis is the only reason why I started to watch baseball
Same here even got me to buy mlb the show 21
this is what special players do, Tatis, Ohtani, etc bringing new fans to the game. Baseball needs more of this excitement.
Whos got the best hair? "I gotta go with me. Sorry bout it."
imagine they do this to a pitcher and in his windup they ask him questions 10/10 would work
Anyone else watch live when he said “oh sh*t” on air? 😂😂😂
It’s just so weird to me how he’s having a whole conversation with the commentator mid play. Only in baseball

But he is leading the league with errors
Tatis has brought a WHOLE NEW vibe to mlb, and honestly I'm here for it. I'm relatively new to watching baseball (I started watching about 3 years ago) and I instantly clicked with the padres, and especially Tatis. I am honestly so excited to watch Tatis grow.
Why is everyone saying he was distracted and missed plays? Every time the ball came near him it was way out of reach. The interview didn't affect his play at all.
I don't think he was, and I'm pretty impressed that he managed to not be. I guess I just feel like this concept WOULD be distracting, he just handled it well. Maybe Tatis asked to do it this way, I'm not sure. But describing his hitting process is difficult for some players in post game interviews, let alone being an in-game shortstop. I did still enjoy Tatis in the video tho.
I think those people are saying it's better for him to be focused just in case a play came his way, especially at shortstop. However, he still was focused on the plays.
Yeah, nah, he wasn't affected by it at all. I'm sure it was annoying but the interview took the Backburner over the game and that was obvious

Love this, but way too distracting as a player. Especially an infield player.

For my first homer over the fence i got a grand slam over 235 ft at age 11
This man is crazy he is already a future hall of famer lol
......stop lol. In his shortened rookie season he already had more multi-strikeout games than actual Padre Hall of Famer Tony Gwynn had in his entire career. Obviously Tatis Jr. is playing great right now, but to be in the HOF you need to do what he's doing right now for 20 years straight.
@@SilhouetteLifter bruh u don't need to be having a season like he is having for 20 years right now he is probably the best player in the MLB no one has ever been that good for 20 years but he is on the right track to becoming a hof and potential all-time great but he is still a rookie and it is too early to be saying stuff like that as if its guaranteed.
@@SilhouetteLifter nah I wouldn't say THAT long. A good 10-12 year run like that sure. You're really not going to see many mlb players play for 20 years anymore.
@@gillygoat881 Ok, well first thing I'll say is that Tatis is having a good month and a half, which is different than having a good full season. Yes, in an imaginary scenario where he doesn't cool off he's on track to hit 51 home runs in a full season. But he'd have to do that for a decade just to reach 500HR. And I wish him the best of luck! But that kind of thing is extremely hard to do.
You say no one has been that good for that long, you should go look at some Hall of Fame numbers 😄 Look at Hank Aaron, heck just look at Albert Pujols, dude hit 30HR (or many more) in 14 different seasons! Meanwhile Miguel Cabrera is another one of the greatest hitters of our era, and he hasn't even cracked 3000 hits, even after playing 18 seasons. Injuries happen, slumps happen, players fall off. Someone could be outstanding for around a decade and still miss the Hall of Fame (remember Ryan Howard?). For a hitter, it's extremely hard to get Hall of Fame numbers without playing at least 15 solid seasons.
@@SilhouetteLifter I agree with you but what I was trying to say is tatis has the potential to become a generational talent but it is far too early to say he is a future hof
now get em miced up while hes batting and watch him hit a home run while answering a question lol

In case anyone is curious, when he looks at the second basemen and has a closed mouth, that means “me” meaning he would cover the base on a steal or double play, if he looks at second baseman with an open mouth that means he has the coverage. Or at least that’s what I did in high school haha

Can you imagine them trying to mic up a guy like Jeter during a regular season game? My how things have changed.....
The game is changing 😳 an interview in the middle of the game!!! Wow your awesome 👏
It's been done several times
Not sure how I feel about this mic up'd up stuff. Seems distracting for Tatis. If the questions weren't question after question I guess it would be okay. But some questions require a little more thought for Tatis which seems distracting. Plus, he has to think carefully what he reply back on TV. A lot of stuff going on but it seems Tatis is game for this type of interview. Me though... I'll have think about longer if I like it, lol.
Derrick Samuels seems appropriate for exhibition but not regular season..

Karros was a Dodger, but what is forgotten about his father's 2 slams is that they both came off the same pitcher!
7:05 oh sh*t
Omg hi Fernando
This was horrible. Please contact your MLB teams and tell them NOT to bother players while they are playing. I was watching this game the announcers were incompetent and the time "interviewing a SS while he was trying to PLAY" was cringeworthy. Then we all sat in silence as the mic'd up A's batter got behind 0-2 and grounded out. Horrible. Please contact your MLB teams and tell them NOT to bother players while they are playing.
I thought it was more of ESPN's doing than specifically the teams doing it. Obviously the players have to except doing it (and are probably paid for it), but it does seem like half of them are a little annoyed while having to do it. And yeah, just huge distraction while playing.
@@MetaGnomePictures Yes, I think the team should come together to ban it. I didn't intend to make it sound like the team was the one doing it, but without their consent it can't happen. It is a team game. They win and lose as a team.
@@chuckleslastlaugh4759 not ban it should just be highlight of him talking like the NBA

I think this would have been better if they did it like the NFL or NBA, by just taking clips of what they are saying. I don't think it works very well while he is playing on the field on an interview
