Seeing that Dinobot commercial makes me remember the last day of school of 85. Just finished First Grade and got a really great report card. My parents took my two older brothers and me out to get Dinobots to celebrate. I got Sludge and my brothers got Grimlock and Slag.
I remember reading the Strega Nona book to. I thought the kid was lucky because pasta has always been my favorite since I was very young. I totally miss being a kid in the 80s. Especially '83 to 86 those were some great years for the best cartoons and toys.
CBS Storybreak Ending- I remember all three of those books that were mentioned and still own the “Charlie and the Chocolate Factory “ and “Strega Nona” books. “The Chocolate Touch” book is essentially the fairy tale of “King Midas and the Golden Touch” with the main character changing things into chocolate instead of gold. Frosted Flakes- Impressive effect of an animated character like Tony the Tiger and the live action kid rowing the boat together. It must have been complicated to pull off an effect like that back then.
Ah, G.I. Joe cereal, cardboard stars in a box. I ate enough of that crap to get a personalized T-shirt back in the day. I "think" I still have some of the cardboard cutout accessories in my box of Joe figures/accesories. If I remember right one of them was a machine cobra created to turn lead into gold.
CBS Storybreak-best theme tune ever G.I. JOE Action Stars Cereal-wished there were a limited edition version with mini marshmallows shaped like the COBRA insignia Dungeons & Dragons-always considered Don Most's character to be the Dr.Zachary Smith of the group Transformers Dinobots-hated how they were used in the Bayformers movies Taco Villa-"we have Del Taco at home."
Here's to the lazy complacency of that Cobra guard who saw the kid crawling by but decided not to act on it. Personally I find it reprehensible that GI Joe is sending child soldiers out into the field.
The domino clip was used in the movie Broadcast News. Holly Hunter’s character played it at a news convention speech to show the dumbing down of nightly news.
The Storybreak guitar shredding totally blew me away as a kid.
That domino clip had the over excited commentary from Japanese TV! Love it!
Back in the day when every kid’s pop culture icon needed a food product. I could eat my Pac-Man pasta while chugging Bugs Bunny and Pals fruit drink.
I remember having the Hamburglar Fast Mac toy. I was playing with it in the kitchen, it went down the basement stairs, and we never found it.

Love that Tokyo world record breaking dominos challenge at the end, and to think this happened on my birth year too 😀

I haven't heard the "in the News" sound effects in years.

Damn I'd completely forgotten about Kronoform. I remember toy watches of all kinds were hot shit on the playground back in the day.
I had that little watch robot dude!

Is that the voice of Rick Dees on the bumpers?
Yes
Disco... Disco Duck
'85, dead on 80s in it's truest form.
You've gotta watch "Robert Parker - '85 Again"

They were still rerunning Land of the Lost in ‘85?
Yes
