Tommy has to be the best guitarist in the world. He excels in every style he plays.
Very true. He sings, he plays pretty much every music genre one could ever imagine playing. It's impossible to pin his music into *any one* genre of music. He can play American country music and folk music, or heavy metal rock, soul, R and B, whatever he likes. That's what makes him a favourite of mine. :)
He’s definitely one of them. The worlds has many incredible musicians.

What a joy it is to be alive at the same time as Tommy Emmanuel. I’ve even had occasion to see him perform live, something I will never forget. He absolutely stands alone in terms of total and complete mastery; he represents a mathematical limit in terms of expertise. Others may try to get close, but his perfection will simply never be reached by anyone. The instrument is an extension of Tommy and Tommy is an extension of the instrument. He has achieved a level where technique and physical skill are transcended; he is completely free to play whatever he wants, whenever he wants. In my mind the greatest guitarist that has ever lived or ever will live.

The man is a giant atop a magic mountain, for guitarists and all musicians. After watching him play and listening to his songs it is a bit enticing to just put the guitar aside not play anymore, ever!. How can this level of talent possibly be topped? However, he is so humble and inspiring he makes me want to practice even more! I don't know if I am dumb, stubborn or both.
@@mikelazar5610 I am still not happy with my level of playing. We're talking 50 years with guitars here! Way too much enjoyment from them to ever give them up. Just because a person possibly can't play as well as another person doesn't mean that person can't make a better song. Individuality is key.

I love how Tommy never plays a tune the same way twice. He always brings out how he is feeling at that exact moment so no two performances are exactly the same. A true artist.
Never heard Fuel before. Love that one! Would love to get the tab/sheet music for that! It looks like one of his more manageable ones (which still puts it at 9.5 out of 10 difficulty lol)

I have been to see Tommy 3 times, took the whole family, had the opportunity to talk to him. Had our picture made, he is an awesome man. He is a great person, as well as one of, if not the best guitar player in the world.

I first saw Tommy about 40 yrs ago, he was a drummer in the band Gold rush, they played country picking as well as long David Gilmour style spaced out pieces courtesy of brother Phil on a Strat......saw Phil many times and Tommy , unfortunately, only a few....they played together one night in a small club in Newcastle Australia...why do I remember this after 30+ years?..
When they played, the people were in total silence,...we wanted to hear every note....it was ....perfect...

I bled my fingers over layers of calluses to play blue moon and other masterpieces by this man.. a Melbourne teacher forced me to study Clapton instead
Such an amazing song, I lost the ability to play without pain a few years ago and I've never stopped wanting to play again I played for about 15 minutes the other day and had fun but unfortunately my hands ached later. I've given up on playing again mostly but still love music.
