This song proves 2 things never change:
1. The epicness of classic Smosh
2. The awfulness of UA-cam’s copyright system
The copyright is justified though. They claim it was a parody but it wasn’t, they used the actual full unedited song and just lip synced it while doing “funny” things (that’s not a song parody). This video is an actual parody of the song.

well, Ian and Anthony were actually quite far ahead in terms of production. Even when it was just the two of them in the very beginning, you could see they had a great investment in production. Also they had a good notion of computer usage so their quality was top notch for that time

I'm rewatching all the old Smosh videos in celebration. Smosh is now just Anthony and Ian again. They bought Smosh back from the people that bought them years ago.
The original company went bankrupt and shutdown. Mythical (Rhett & Link) then bought the company and kept it running since.
They were just as excited as Anthony and Ian that it'd get back into the hands of the original owners ^^ There were no issues at all

The copyright claims actually doesn't have to be from Smosh at all. YT has very shitty copyright laws and it could literally be anyone. Smosh encourages fan content and knows those guys, so I don't think they'd do something like that.
