A mid 80s Strat with a Kahler Spyder was my first real guitar. Wish I still had it. You’re bringing back some great memories for me.
I just restrung my HM Strat with a Spyder. Love that thing!

I agree with you wholeheartedly.
Kahler cam with the locking nut is really to me the ultimate. You can do subtle to full divebombs. The I'll say semi weak link was the behind the nut lock only because if the nut had an issue with the nut then it caused problems. I did put one on my Peavey T-60 and never had problems because those came with an aluminum nut that never had any wear.
The string lock is fine. I bet everyone that has ever had problems didn’t have their guitar set up correctly.

Super excited to see that interview! Always been a Floyd rose guy till I played a Kahler, much better quality imo, would love to see new guitars!
There are really great Floyd’s out there and I love them, but…
Because Kahler never licensed anything their quality is way more consistent.
Kahler and Floyd are like Mac and PC. There are great PCs out there but since anyone cans make one most are crap!
Mac on the other hand is only made by Mac so they tend to be way better.
I can tell you too after spending 5 days with Gary he only uses the best material and along every step of the way threads are being chased and quality is his top priority.
So yeah, typically a Kahler has way more quality than a Floyd.
Haven’t seen many Kahler bridges on Fenders before, this is certainly an interesting guitar setup!
The 2300 was actually designed to have holes match the outside holes of the 6 hole bridge.
The 2200 was made to go on Gibsons with a tune-o-matic bridge.
I will be installing both as well as a bass bridge.

I did not know that, I rememeber some of (if not all ) of the Gibson branded stud mounted ones had the spring loaded saddles like the Flyer. Instead of the regular pro saddles with adjustable spacing.

Kahler Fender ? One baddass axe ! I love it !
The 2300 was designed way back in the early 80s to fit perfectly in a fender with a 6 hole bridge.
The 2200 was designed to do the same thing with a Les Paul.
Gulf of Mexico is my favorite place on earth, I live in north Alabama so I could go for a weekend trip but just haven’t been able to afford it and man I got beach fever something fierce.
I’m loving the Kahler content even though I’m not a Kahler guy myself, I might be, lol I’ve never had one.
Well, I’m working in the oilfield so it’s a little different for me but it’s still pretty. Hot as hell though!
Had a Charvel model number 4 back in the day. Was a great guitar and I’ve never understood all the hate for Kahlers.
I have a model 4 with the JT6. It’s a fine whammy bar for what it is but no where near the quality of a Kahler.
I’ve spent lots of time with Gary Kahler and done tons of research on the 80s tremolo wars and I have come to a conclusion, the hate isn’t real but rather was manufactured.

I absolutely love the Kahler on my ‘86 Charvel. I would be stoked to see these make a comeback.

This is awesome! I'm going to be very interested in your installation videos, especially since I know Kahlers need more of a neck angle than strats typically are...are you going to shim the neck, or recess the Kahler?
It will be a case by case basis. There is a lot of confusion about Kahler. A lot of information out there is completely incorrect.

Kahlers are some of the best trems to exist and it's so weird that you dont see them around as much. Very underrated.
Believe it or not it’s because Gary Kahler insists on making them in America out of top quality metal.
Floyd is everywhere because of their willingness to let people pay for the license and just make copies out of whatever.
Neither is right or wrong.

@REXYLAB I can't even imagine how brutal the 80s trem wars would've been considering how many players jumped in, so excited. 🤘
@@hms2407 one thing Gary told me that seems so cool is that all the different manufacturers used to rent their own hotel room in a specific hotel at the same time and rock stars would just bounce from one room to another checking out their stuff.
Can you imagine what that must have been like!
@REXYLAB oh yes, that must've been so cool. As a design graduate myself, I can totally understand why they would do that, haha, considering how many solid floating trems came out in that decade alone, which still hold up today. Those guys definitely did their homework.

The Vega trem is absolutely amazing! It’s made out of top material and there are no compromises.
With the Kahler, same.

The Washburn WONDERBAR was awesome but just not enough quality parts
It’s a great piece of engineering but it is want away quick because it don’t work as well as the other bridges in my opinion.
