Gotta say this phone is very good. Been using for 2 months. I like how natural the pictures taken.
Nice initial impressions. This has replaced my sansung ultra (reallybad audio in comparison). Also replaced my iPhone 15 pro max - great phone but heavy and big.
Battery life of the sony is insane - twice that of the pixel 8a.
Audio os great as you'd expect: wireless, witwd and external speakers.
SD card slot is very handy for me.
Ease of holding is way ahead of the ultra and pro Max - by a long way.
4 years security updates which I'm glad to see.
I'm taking mine tomorrow. Got my message yesterday, came home today, we'll get it tomorrow Saturday. Can't wait to return back to Xperia 😂.

@@hansley7307 thanks mate. Following Xperia content is easy, getting one is hard. But always set your expectations straight and start low. You'll get there eventually. I've been waiting for years to return back to Xperia. I just thought it's time.
Great choice there! I'm still very much on the pixel side currently! Hopefully future Xperia models will bring me back to Xperia again!
5 is a compact flagship. 10 is suppose to be mid-range. (same size as 5) Ace (asia only) is the low-budget low-end.

5 is not compact especially the phone tall is above 15cm..

Sony 10vi £300 - not many phones give you this battery life (twice the pixel 8a), 3.5mm headphone socket, aptX adaptive, LDAC, as card slot...
I have been using the phone for around a month, and I was shocked by the battery life. It is amazing. In cameras, the main 48mp 24mm lens is amazing, and the 48mm crop also looks amazing. However, I feel like the telephoto lens is a bit lacking when compared to my old S22. But the dynamic range and video quality when shooting with HLG(BT.2020) are fantastic, and the video zoom performance is not the best, but it's good. Try the HDR mode in video. It looks amazing.
Are you using auto mode or professional mode !??😊
go to settings - about phone - and click on the build number couple of times to activates the developer options setting in system menu. then you can change it or even turn off the animation speed for faster and smoother experience.
Finally, I was hoping that you will get it and make a review. Please make a full review. I am using mine for 5 weeks now and I love it. The battery is amazing, cameras are very good but they could improve hdr maybe a little bit more(I am using only auto mode, the darker areas come out as black sometimes, detail is lost). The display is amazing, it is so clean and bright in sunlight, you can see everything so clear. The loudspeakers are the best on a phone, amazing. I own a 1 V. I will Upgrade next year to 1 VII when it comes out. For me, Xperia is the way to go : excellent picture quality, excellent display, excellent design ( classic,how I like it) and very important, excellent sound quality and let's not forget: microSD....so... Yes: best phone

Been using 1 IV, Happier than ever, no overhating issue really like the 20fps, videography pro was very smooth went shooting FHD 60fps, upload to medial sosial very smooth if you know the setting for videography pro, i never uaed the stock camera video because its a bit lag dunno why

please review the proximity sensor issue. double tap to wake on and prevent accidental operations on, cover the proximity sensor and try to drag down the quick settings. it works and unfortunately this is what happens when the phone is in the trousers pocket. and it messes up with the quick settings.
also, set AOD on and double tap to wake screenn off. you will see that double tap still works.
there are issues that nobody is mentioning in the reviews but they are real and very concerning since they are unresolved by Sony since the first xperia.
These are reasons I sold it and the same problems had xperia 1 v and iv
Will any of these phones work on 5g in the US I have a 1 mark 2 and T-Mobile won't support it

Have you upgraded the lens as quality of camera and pixel increases as compare to outer as well as inner never was previous world. Around you to capture even for eyes barely..... So lens comparisin to photooutet world aswellas in on phone screen pixel to get real deal and check world ourlter changed or not
I find the zoom a bit soft
Still did a better job than xperia 1v.
Because the sensor size of the Optical Zoom rather outdated and small the VII will used a bigger sensor for the zoom lenses and that's gonna be great.

I have the phone, I'd like to see a In depth caparison of what we lost from the Xperia 1 V, as far as going to one Camera App, Vs 3 Separate Apps. I miss the 3 Apps, on this new Phone. I think its missing some features.

I think Xperia 5 models are the compact versions of the flagship (1). Sorta like the FE of the Samsung Galaxy flagships. Xperia 10s are the mid-range ones
Bro please do one thing when you test out cameras please share images from auto mode from all lenses without editing we want to see how that works out
Dude, everyone knows Xperia auto mode is **s, makes no point showcasing Xperia on auto...manual mode is where it's shines

@@Heartstarts2pound i don't know about photography but as far as i have seen auto mode videography videos online it has made a lot of improvement even during night time it is going head to head with iphone
While I love the longer zoom and telemacro support, I do think that Sony should give a bigger camera sensor for the telephoto lens. 1/3.5" just won't cut it.
Also, I'm not a fan of the new 19.5:9 screen. I know Sony did it to save some hardware cost, but I don't see any problem for them to make their own display in-house with the Bravia department. Sony should have kept the iconic 21:9 screen but give it a more efficient LTPO panel.
They just addressed the common complaints. Not that bright and only has 60hz/120hz adjustment. There is literally no ltpo 4k panel.
@@josephaquino3095 It doesn't have to be 4K resolution. Xperia 5 series never have 4K resolution, yet it always have the 21:9 screen panel. That's why I suggest LTPO 21:9, and not LTPO 4K. I doubt even most Xperia owners can tell the difference between FHD and 4K resolution on a small smartphone screen.
@@FAT8893 My bad. But, maybe, they have to go for the 19.5:9 aspect ratio for the availability (still). Quite curious about xperia 5, if it will have an LTPO.

I been using Xperia phone for years. however mk vi downgrade to 1k from 4k which stop me buying it. I am going to change my mk 2 to mk 5. if mk 6 got a 4k screen version I will buy it.

Mine was Z5. Loved everything about that phone, except the camera. That phone was getting better and better after each major android update. Nougat worked as a charm.

bro next time please give us more details about the zoom. coz i have the 1 v before. but the zoom are totally trash.
This zoom perform better than the xperia 1v but only by a bit. But at it's longer zoom range yet still do better than xperia 1v means quite an improvement. Same for it's digital zoom. 21.3 times did a better digital zoom than 15.6 times of xperia 1v.

I really like Lim's reviews. However, they look like paid promotions sometimes. UA-camrs have been comparing this unit with other flagships and the cameras are just doing a bad job. Given that the mobile is that costly, it must be worth it.
Was looking to replace my 13pro either to 15pm or this, i was a sony user before this and i made the decision to buy this over the 15pm, cant wait!

Lags galore, sent ti back after 1 day, software is a joke, camera is nothing special at all.
The camera a bit dissapointing on auto. Always overwashed picture the sky is white and brighter than what we see. And in low light telephoto so bad and noisy photo.
idk i sees yt vids comparison and xperia 1 vi is only a little behind against s24u, ip 15pm etc when it comes to daylight photos the terrible part is photos at night is way behind..

2 years of software update is unacceptable in 2024. Sony pls shut the shop n get lost.
Sony 1vi has 4 years security updates and 3 years os updates. Same with the 10vi.
The change in update is why I got it, along with the 3.5mm headphone socket, as card slot, WiFi 7, snapdragon sound, aptX adaptive, Bluetooth 5.4, Bluetooth LE, insane battery life and of course the camera.
This replaced my Samsung ultra which sounds terrible for audio in comparison in comparison, and photos are over sharpened. Also replaced my iPhone 15 pro max. Great phone but heavy

Camera is not valued according to the price of phone. Others brand 478 , 597 dollars midrange phone like Samsung, Xiaomi, realme, oppo can easily camera compare with this phone's camera.
