I read the manga for this fight on comiXology, and there was a closeup of Jotaro’s eyes looking at Dio, and it was such a powerful image and so impactful, I wish they had included it in the anime.

The reason why Dio's ability lasts longer is probably due to him being a vampire, giving him inhuman stamina and strength

Are we talking about his time stop ability cause that’s not right. The reason why why he can stop time for a long time is because he kept on doing it over and over till he started like actually gaining something from it cause remember he learned that ability as soon as he obtained The World.
@@SpaceVibesIsI1 whilst you’re opinion is partially correct and time stop does in fact increase over useage. The maximum for human beings is 5 seconds and vampires don’t have a limit(confirmed by Araki)

I love the hype everyone gets when Polnareff shows up
I think what surprised me more than Jotaro suddenly moving his fingers was that even from the beginning, star platinum never really used special abilities like Hierophant's Emerald Splash, Hermit's Spirit Photos, or Magician's Red Bind. All he does is brute force his way through his enemies with sheer strength and incredible speed that if you look at it another way, it's not actually super speed, rather it was Jotaro and his enemies thinking his movements are so fast because he's subconsciously activating The World in a mere blink (Example is his fight vs N'doul.) Almost, if not every stand in Jojo has special abilities while Jotaro doesn't. Or to put it more correctly, Jotaro didn't know what his SP's special ability was until he saw what Dio can do.
If someone were to ask why Dio couldn't figure out Jotaro's The World despite knowing their whereabouts, movements and such while on the way to Egypt. I think because Jotaro's The World at the beginning was just blink of an eye, and it didn't make difference to Dio who could move freely for more than a second.

The thing about polnareff's attack was that he thought he was the last since he saw every one die and thought that jotaro was dead too, that was, for him, the last attack of the crusaders

For people who don’t quite understand WHY Star Platinum has the same ability as The World, or for people who think it’s a BS contrivance, it’s something that was set up at the very beginning of the part:
When DIO pierced himself with the Stand Arrow, it gave him The World. It’s unclear whether this brought out Hermit Purple in Jonathan’s body or if he already had his Stand without knowing it, like how Araki has clarified that Joseph already had Hermit Purple during Part 2, but it only visibly manifested much later on. Whether Jonathan’s body already had Hermit Purple, it was connected to DIO’s body when he gained his stand. Through both familial ties that the Joestars share and by the nature of Hermit Purple’s ability, Jonathan’s soul could recognize the threat of The World and sent out the spirit message which triggered the “Joestar Curse” bringing out stand abilities in his descendants. Of all his living descendants who could receive a new stand ability (I.e. not Joseph, because his stand was already determined), Jotaro was the one who had the best likelihood of being able to stand against DIO, being not only of a reasonably young but learned age but also having a fighting spirit. The spirit signal thus awoke a stand in Jotaro that was capable of standing up to The World, which would manifest as a stand that shares not only its physical frame and basic stats, but also possesses the same ability.
This explanation also resolves a lot of other supposed issues people often cite against Araki. For example: people claim that it’s sexist that Holly “couldn’t handle the power of a stand because she was a woman” even though it’s because a Star Platinum-level was forcibly being brought out of her. We see other child and female stand users, yes, but I wager that MOST enemy stand users we see would have gotten sick if they were in the same situation as Holly.

That’s a great explanation man, but there’s one part that needs alittle tweak, it’s wit him my and her illlness. It wasn’t becuase she had a stand as sting as SP come out but becuase she didn’t have the fighting spirit to properly control it, kinda like cheap trick in part four, his user didn’t have the strength to wield him and ended up becoming a victim of his own ability. I believe it even said it the first few episodes holly’s such a kind hearted person she lacked the resolve needed to write a stand. Otherwise your spot on
@@michaelsneddon4300 cheap trick’s specific ability is one that kills its user and then jumps to another person. Because it’s ability specifies it’s users death as a condition, I don’t think it’s fair to use that particular example as a comparison. The original Cheap Trick user DID survive having his body pierced with the stand arrow. Therefore he met the bare minimum “fighting spirit requirement” to have a stand. If you don’t have that pre-requisite fighting spirit, the arrow just kills you outright. It just so happens that his stand ability, in it’s full activation, results in death. So Cheap Trick resulting in its user’s death is more similar to a case like Notorious B.I.G. than it is to a case like Holly.
One thing I'd like to add (and the idea I subscribe to) is that DIO and Jotaro have similar stands because The World's true ability is to copy the Jostars, something he's tried to do since the beginning. Star Platinum is the stand who can really stop time, The World just stole that ability because that's what DIO does best
