Your awesome man. I am a single father with 12 year old twins I have raised alone. The Honda CR-V carried me through the hardest times💪. I'm currently drying it again and am dreaming about a simple carburator turbo.
I have been following your channel for quite a while now and honestly I really appreciate your content. You have made alot of the modifications and even maintenance I’ve done to my 99 CRV so much easier keep the content coming you have actually inspired me to start my own channel! You are appreciated bud 👊🏻👊🏻
@@hondaresource yup, weakest link should always be something easily replaced. Seen too many drag cars turn drive shafts into spaghetti because of billet u joints.

Since your driveshaft has "cv joints" the angle is less important and you can move the mounts deep up into the chassis for better clearance. I was thinking to convert my subaru to these type of joint rather than traditional u joints for the same reason
could you spin the steady bearings to face down then add material to bolt to bottom of CRV body to mount them that would allow the entire driveshaft to be lifted and get it up out of the way??
I have a 2000 honda cr-v sport than i want to off road but im on a bit of a budget in regards to upgrades. What are the most beneficial upgrades would you say?
These adapters are a great idea. Do you still have to have the Freelander drive shaft lengthened on a regular B20 RD1 CRV if you use these adaptors? If the adapters were slightly wider you wouldn't have needed to lengthen yours would you?
Awesome project man! I am doing a kswap in a rd1 also i have the eg subframe and a brand new dc power steering rack. The crv pinion gear is smaller than the dc gear but everyone says they are interchangeable. Any ideas?
it is good to see you get outside for a change:) thanks for your videos, I have learned a lot. Question: what size rims and tires are you running on in this video?
@@hondaresource That is what I thought and that is what I want on my crv, cool! does that fit nicely? no rubbing or issues? no spacers? What is the offset of those rims?
I need help and you are just the guy for the job. I have a 1998 CRV FWD LX and I need to find the rubber weatherstrip or seal that goes around the inside of the door. I need front driver and front passenger. The dealerships tell me they are discontinued and they cannot get them. Parts stores cannot get them. "Out of stock" My mechanic friend tells me I wouldn't have much luck at wrecking yards from his experience. I think it would be almost impossible to make a universal one work so I'm stuck. Any advice from you or your viewers would be appreciated. Maybe you have some for sale? Thank you for your great videos. They have helped me get my CRV running well and saved me a lot of money.
That ripped really good besides the hitting a tree part but it still yeeting. I was thinking can you the the mounting arms off the coupling and reweld them back on but on the sides I think that would give you some more clearance but not sure if that's too much work for you?
I’m looking to build an awd second gen crv but I’m unclear on what all I need to do to get what I’m going after. I want front and rear lsd’s but I thought the rear differential has a viscous coupler in it so i have a little confusion there. Is it that you’ve pin them viscous in the rear end so now you need one I really drive train?
Thanks for the video. I'm seriously considering doing an awd conversion into my 91 crx using a basket case of a man. trans awd rd1 as a donor. My concern was about drivability. Does the rear end bind at all with the locking plates?
Nice! Quick question ! I've noticed that the all-wheel drive automatic transmission has a different gear selector on the gauge cluster then the two-wheel drive version. If I were to mount and all wheel will drive transmission in my two wheel drive CRV (all 1st gen) would that affect the driving somehow?
New Subscriber here! Amazing channel btw. Keep it up. I do have a question for you. How do you feel about daily driving this setup(vicious coupler, pinned diff with phantom). Highway driving and all.
I’ve dreamed of doing something like this to my Saturn VUE, I would love to see more outside Offroad, seeing if it can slow crawl up an incline or something.
@@hondaresource I figured it was all time lapse or sped up. But it looks like you did really good, there’s just something about taking the little SUVs that were never supposed to really go off-road and challenge them. Makes it just that much more fun

Awesome! Best of luck with it, it's a lot of work with little return
Nice. I'm going to have to come south to buy my next one, so it's not all Illinois rusty
Rust is almost non existent here
The rust belt sure does add extra time to every under carriage job doesn't it?
@@juiceybananas5489 it sure does. My subframe was all rotted from where that air conditioner drains off on the passenger side
Good to see it off road, I think some reinforced lower control arms would be nice added feature. They seem to get taco'd easily.
I thought about the reinforcement but at the same time, I would rather that bend than something else like a mounting point.

Yes, but I feel like it more rigid mounted with it flipped up

I think so. The adapters are primarily made to work with AWD civics but, yes a thicker adapter may work just fine
hi reverse down the fixation and no need to cut the CR-V chassis ;) how the vicos freelander works ?

locking plates will cause no binding if you use a viscous coupler
I may have missed it, but did you pin the rear diff and that's why you are using the freelander DS?

Looking good!

What year car do we get the driveshaft from? So I can go look at my location pick a part

Will it start then turn off when you let go of the key?

Will an 03 freelander driveshaft and coupler work for the crvs?
Yes. That's what I have on this
What year did the driveshaft come from?.. is there a way i can get the site to order the adapter? Thanks

I've driven it to several states. The only down fall is fuel economy will suffer.
Pros and cons of deleting the 4WD?
pro's - better fuel mileage, con's - limited off road capability.
@@hondaresource safe to say that having it deleted would benefit for city driving?
Great content, maybe you should invest in a subframe and engine drop kit from hrg

Do they make one for k series
