You can. Especially if it’s half squelched what I was getting at is filtering skip and high powered stations like mud Duck out so you can just hear local truckers. By using RF gain and Squelch. If you run with your RF gain open and squelch close to “static” you’ll just hear skip and mud Duck and other annoying nuisance radio traffic
These days many truckers don't even speak English. I started trucking in the early 70s and everyone was on a CB. Not so much anymore, but now that I'm retired I always run a CB on long RV road trips just in case. And, after a 20 year hiatus from ham, (though I've always renewed my ham license) I'm getting back into ham radio. I just bought a brandy new Yaesu FTD 500 D. I'm loving it. KD7LWL

Why can't you just use the CB to talk to truckers on their CB? I think I missed something
