Au5 static chorus trick - bring the low pass filter all the way up and bring all other knobs except delay 1 and 2 down and mess with delay 1 and 2,you'll get comb filter type of sound ,this can be done in phaser and flanger too.
Lol. There are sooo many weird af ways to get comb filters. Like, speaking of delay, you can get a ping pong comb with delay. Just turn off bpm, and set the delay to linked or whatever. Than if you bring the delay time low enough, it’s kind of a free comb filter. Set it to ping pong and note latch the delay time and boom. Than there’s taking any wave, setting the rand down all the way, making like 16 voices and modding the unison width….than you can just resample to osc a (or b if you are b gang) and reset the parameters. Usually sounds dope with a mirror or some other top end sorta warp thingy. Also, ya gotta edit the wave table. Usually the first 10-20 are all you need. X fade, remove fund, normalize, warp spectral or crossfade….Now you can get stupid with it. Fukin lfo comb. Make a square wave in the lfo. Make it like, really really tight. So it can loop as much times as possible per cycle. You can deadass do this by taking osc a with a square wave. Set it to sync. Than resample to warp. Thaaaan alt click, drag the wave table into the lfo….set the rate waaayyy up. Until it roughly matches the pitch of the note you are playing. Thaaan just rout a noise to the rate. Or chaos. Whatever. Even a whole ass other lfo. If ur a mad lad, you could rout an lfo to adjust each vector, essentially doubling the rate but….nobody wants to do that…Cuz it would suck. And, in reality, it’s just an extra osc if you want it. Whatever you rout to it, you can adjust the peaks and valleys to get the volume of the pseudo wave just right……you will never need to do this ever. Buuuut, yeah. You caaaan if you want. Where else can you locate free comb filters? You can kiiinda do it with hyper dimension. But, not really. You can make unique noise sounds, I guess. Tbh, all are cool. But, if you are part of fl gang….patcher exists. Which basically turns serum into phase-plant. Like, I’m honestly using Serum fx more and more with samples, instead of just using serum. Cuz, with patcher, and midi routing, shit gets wacky. So yeah.…also, lmfao. Serum is so simple that I desdass thought I learned everything about it like a year ago. But, lowkey, there are so many random ass things that I’ll just pick up every month or so, that over time, makes me think that it’s infinitely powerful… and I’m just simple. So yeah…my biggest serum breakthrough is that, you can just use serum fx with midi routing on anything ever. You can straight up take a sample of a random drop you made one time, set the notes up in midi, and use serum fx as an envelope on the whole thing. It’s just soooo op.
Also worth mentioning is that you can get the Serum effects chain as a separate plugin if you want to use any of the effects on a sample or just a different synth. It can come in handy sometimes
