17 months ago, my father passed away and Jordan helped me so much to deal with my grief. Now, I lost my mother last wednesday. I was holding her in my arms when she passed away. So sad... but, again, Jordan helped me to deal with my new grief. May God bless Rival Sons.
And may you be blessed too 😇☮️🌈
Blessings to you Sir! Keep your head up. There is hope
God Bless you brother. Although loss is natural, grief is hard. On your own, and with others.
Glad you found support in this art. All the best to you.
Pim
Can relate so much to this Luis!!
Stay strong carry on brother these guys are the real deal we'll see everybody on the other side!
Gene Simons is wrong . . . Rock didn't die, his talent did. Rival Sons are real rock and they are keeping rock alive and well. I'm a huge fan of Rival Sons.
I like your analogy. I'm just discovering Rival Sons - really dig their "Good Things" song.
swampyD1000 I absolutely love "Good Things". Not only is the music really good, but the lyrics are incredible. It's my go too song when life feels overwhelming. It just helps me to remember that nothing lasts forever, not even the bad times.
Agree
+Alexander Everhart You are correct Gene is wrong BUT your generations propensity to share everything causes problems. Now I'm just talking economics bands need money to exist, and yes if the become famous they are entitled to become rich. The egalitarian view was not what motivated Pete Townshend or Jimmy Page OR Mick Jagger yes they wanted to be rock gods, they also wanted the money. Folks you have to pony up for the music. I personally buy my music in CD form old as that may seem directly from the artist web page. I know they made their money that way. Gene is right not paying for stuff de-incentivizes artists and forces them onto the round ALL the time. They have families ya'll they want to be home to. Pay for the music, enjoy the music.
+K6III450MHZ I'm 44 years old . . . what generation are you talking about? I've purchased all of Rival Sons albums on CD; have seen them in concert and have purchased a couple of their tour shirts.
Bottom line, Gene is wrong (and a complete douche) rock is not dead, it's alive and well with Rival Sons.
This song brings me to tears and gets my short hairs to stand up every time I listen to it. I played this for 81 year old father who , to much of my surprise said "them boys know how to play a song right" even listen to a few other songs. That says a lot for a man who is more of a Merle Haggard fan. IDK who reads these but it don't much matter. I have been a loyal fan from the day I was introduced to your music. Thanks for doing what you do!
My mother introduced me to them when my daughter passed away. Now I can’t stop listening to them when I miss her the most and I feel her close to me.
That's not only a magic performance by all...it's some of the best mic technique you'll ever see.
My dad died yesterday. "Jordan" helps me with my grief❤️ #beautifulgrief #alzheimersisanightmare
Emma Kling i hope this song heals your soul... one love beautiful...
I'm so sorry for your loss. I lost my daddy this year and yes, this song has helped my grief. #ihatecancer
So sorry for your loss. Music is so good for the soul.
Kolla Kling, my dad died almost 9 years ago, and Jordan helps me with my grief. Hang in there. The hurt never goes away, but does become easier to deal with, especially with the right music. I now listen to mine (rock), AND his (Irish folk/trad). It brings us closer even though he's been gone so long.
Beautiful grief ... so true !
This breaks my heart, makes me smile, and gives me chills, all at the same time. I am captivated and obsessed.
YES!
Well said. Exactly how I feel about "Good Things".
Stefan Polny, what a wonderful group. I just found them a few weeks ago.
I hope they stop by the house. Lol
Mam tak samo :)
Yep. Me too.
Quite uncanny how there are so many posts here about people losing parents, particularly fathers. I discovered this band recently and loved their songs. Especially "Electric man" and "Where I've been". The day after I heard of my dad's diagnosis of leukemia, I heard Jordan the first time and I howled. Exactly a month after that my dad passed and I played this song to my mom and brother and we all howled. These guys seem to really hit a note with the most sincere and unadulterated raw passion and emotion. Was looking forward to introducing my dad to this band when I saw him again. As the man who taught me everything I know about music, he would definitely have been a fan of there's. Much respect
dude i feel the same exact way ,
I like to watch Rival Sons videos after the Grammys so I still feel there's hope.
Fuck yeah.
bahahahahaha
lolll
Rival sons are awesome....nice
Not sure why you would watch the grammys if you like real music
Lost my DAD July 9, 2022 . This has got to be the most beautiful song I've ever heard . Even though it makes me weep non stop it's helping me to get it out . Thank you Jay !!!
Sorry for your loss ❤
Lyrics:
The wolves look to the moon.
And the ocean to the sky.
I've looked to you my whole life
Now I have to say goodbye...
But to say that I've lost you,
It's a selfish thing to say.
I've never seen nothing as beautiful
As watching you slip away
I'd rather see you go in the arms of your angels
Than to keep you right here with me.
I'll meet you on the other side of the Jordan
Now let your soul go free...
You did it all with feeling,
And failure, you took it gracefully.
You said "third star to the right
And straight on until morning.
When you ned me, you know
That's where I'll be"
Now the rest of my life without you
Right now it's hard to conceive,
You said, "don't cry form me now
You've got to remember
There is no death fot those that belive"
I'd rather see you go in the arms of your angels
Than to keep you right here with me.
I'll meet you on the other side of the Jordan
Now let your soul go free...🖤
I never seen anything beautiful in watching you slip away. Just that little variance makes a huge difference. Sorry not trying to be a dick.
Did they rite this song ? It is beautiful & he sings it perfect .
Jackieblue I wonder the same. This is amazingly writing.
Incredible life applying lyrics!
@@DJDouglasWarden Yes. Lead singer Jay Buchanan wrote this for his aunt… who was dying of cancer. It’s beyond gorgeous. Importantly, the song also shows his Christian faith.
I find myself coming back to watch this video every day for the past week. Best version of this song, better than the original recording! Jay is just incredible!
My dad passed when I was 20 years old. I miss him terribly. This song is so beautiful and so moving. I listen to it often and on repeat. It somehow makes loss a little easier. Thank you for this gift, that is this song, Rival Sons. Much appreciated.
If this song doesn't get down to your soul check your pulse
The one thing that brings me to love Rival Sons, is the sound of his voice. He's got that southern gospel sound, like old soul music you just can't find these days.
I agree
Most beautiful band of 2017...... Not commercialized, processed, sampled or advertised, just pure rhythm and soul.....
THIS MAY BE THE BST SONG EVER ! FANTASTIC, FABULOUS Should be heard more KILLER BAND !
Makes me feel sad because I have lost but the payoff is the memory's that give it all meaning
Better Than Any Billboard Song within the past 3 years.
you can multiply that by 7
You got that right. By far!
This song stops me in my tracks every time I hear it. Beautiful.
Everybody who posts stuf on FB like ''Nowadays music sucks'' should be forced to listen to this band all day. And especially this song....
YUP AGREED
This new band here you very angry person rocks!! go see them live omg!! so good!!
tsdon1 Smithee Alot of Today's music is shit. A very Vast Majority of it... but there is very intellingent rappers. That can rap 167 Uniqe Uncommonly used words in less than 20 seconds.
The fact that you mention top 40 tells me that you just have to dig deeper. The ammount of artists has increased exponentially due to the fact that, even with a moderate computer, everyone can release their own tracks from their own bedroom. Just look further than your average radio bullshit.
Pieter Kleij, music does suck now a days. Just because there is a few good bands out of the hundreds don't mean shit.
What kills me is this band would have been enormous back in the late 60's into the 70's. Especially being an American band during the time that the UK was killing it. It's extremely sad that today's generation of people are so caught up with shit music that they may never get their full appreciation.
thats not true they just did donington, theyre getting bigger every tour..
Nathan Arent I hear you bro
This generation likes all sorts of music and is not a racist generation.
@@jontootlegreem5652 this current generation is that absolute worst.... and your wrong they all like shit music
@@brandonbuelow5109 did you ask everyone in this generation?
One of if not my favourite Rival Sons tunes!
I lost my best friend down to an overdose about 2 and a half years a go, man if he was still alive I swear I'd slap him if I knew what he was doing. But this song always reminds me of the final day that I saw him in his coffin.. it killed me mentally. He was a prick sometimes but it hurts you know? He just walked the wrong path as some people do. Man I miss our stupid antics when we were kids. He was only 30, that's no age. RIP Lee Boss, until we meet again my brother from another mother.. fly high bro, we will meet again, but not yet 🤘
I just attended "church" on this Easter day thanks to my "pastor" Jay Buchanan of Rival Sons as usual the music was "powerful" and "uplifting"! God I "love" rock n roll😇
I know they are religious but WTF!! music is for everyone. Dont need to make it about church!
This just feels like a very special song.
Rival Sons are the most underrated band in the world. This should be a classic that everyone knows.
Faith in Music restored.
His voice is incredible
This is the most soulful and beautiful thing I have ever heard. I can’t wrap my head around it but it makes me cry every time
Ten years is a long time, and this is still the damndest thing I’ve ever seen
fantastic vocals, hell, fantastic everything. The true keepers of the flame of classic rock and blues. Love these guys!
Played this at my mum's funeral... perfect
This is such a beautiful moving song and his vocal range and singing style couldn't be more perfect for it. A match made in heaven. Singers like this don't come along very often. More songs like this please!
I can't listen to this song. I can't not listen to this song. Thank you Sons. RIP Dad.
I still can't get enough of the Rival Sons 💖🎸💜🎤💖🥁🖤🎶💖🎹 💖
Sometimes we want people to stay here with us because we care so much about them. However they are at their time to leave us and pass. Often to stay for them means suffering for many reasons. In that situation wanting to keep them here can be selfish in a way! It all comes down to whats best for them, not us! Hard to say let alone do! This song touches that issue.....
"I'd rather see you go in the arms of your angels
Than to keep you right here with me.
I'll meet you on the other side of the Jordan
Now let your soul go free......"
Beautiful and Sad, yet true!
If you have experienced this you can really appreciate this song even more!
28 people did not like this song? really? This is the best song ever!!

Songwriter: Jay Bartholomew Buchanan
I discovered this song after my daddy died of Non-Hodgkins Lymphoma in 2018 and it helped me so much through my grief. Thank you for writing and performing this song Jay and Rival Sons. It's a truly comforting song for anyone who's lost a loved one.
Lost my dad Christmas day this year. This song helps ease that loss. My dad was and always will be my hero. I dont think I would get through this if I didnt have this song to remind me hes not hurting anymore!
I have lost one friend who liked this track very much...
Have lost a lot off people a long the years. If the only way is ONE song than you gonna hurt a lot! Grow up. And yes i am sorry for your loss just dont like it when people throw out excuses that they wouldnt go on because off a song
HOLY SHIT, chills at 2:40 His vocal and mic control is incredible!!! These guys are so fucking talented! New fan here and I'm in love.
My beloved father passed away two days ago. I've never felt anything as sad as this hole in my heart. This song, in a way only God can understand, helps me with my grief. Love you, my lovely man. Someday I'll meet you on the other side of the Jordan.
#hatecancer
I'm so sorry for your loss. I hate cancer too. I lost my daddy to that damned disease last year. This song has helped give me some solace.
@@racheldobbs2028 So sorry for your loss too. We need to find the cure for this damned disease. So sad...
Got damn. Did you notice how far away he had to stand from the mic when he started belting 😳
That's my favorite part. I've been listening to this for 2yrs. + and I still concur with your reaction, GOD DAMN! dude got pipes.
Jay not only put distance between him and the mic but the fact he turned as well.
Dude's impressive
He is amazing
Because he is a truly professional Singer . Great band, really. Just since 1 year i know them ungortunately
I think that’s the most emotional song I’ve ever heard and I’m almost 60👍🏼 love me some Rival Sons🎸
Beautiful song.......these guys own it.... and their own their place in music .
Dudes voice blows me away. This guitar player is damn good too. Love the feel and emotion put into these songs. Rick on brothers rock on. Very inspirational.
True respect from holland
Music this good is rare these days, so glad I found these guys. Beautiful.
couldnt agree more
Agreed. Music is good as long as you find it.
Popular music is on the other hand not so good!
Absolutely stunning. The passion and feel in that voice is moving. Love this band
I can never keep it together when I hit play on this song. Love you big brother I'll see you there.
I'd never heard of these guy's before they opened for Black Sabbath back in April in Adelaide. Fuckin A1!!! Singer voice is even better live. Bloody magic!!! Can't wait for them to come back down south!!!
My Mother passed away Thanksgiving night. I played this at her graveside. See you on the other side of
Jordan, my precious Mother.
Wow.....I grew up in the 70s.....this bad is great. Good guitar..vocals...drum.....what's their biggest hit ? Want more.
Tjeck shooting stars
This song is so amazing. I can't quit listening. The lyrics are so beautiful. The instrumental is on point. Singing is outstanding.
My dad died 9/14/18. This song gave me solace. I cry for happiness instead of sadness.
I would love to see an entire album of folk acoustic tracks like this. I love everything they do, but this is just pure magic and I could sink gracefully into an album of this candor and tone. Great music does live on, and this will surely be timeless.
He has such a rich voice and sings with true feeling, this is a great band, the best from this generation
the best rock and roll band out here right now i love these guys
That's power and control! Do you see how he steps away from the mic! Beautiful!
Going to see them tomorrow night at The Orpheum in Vancouver. First show since the pandemic. Couldn’t ask for a better one!
The most unique voice of our time? Genuine leather. Authentic and smooth. With a bit of a smokey edge. Jay Buchanan performs from the heart. God bless and keep you as this song helps you through the grief of your loss. Until you wade across that river into you dad’s loving arms. Peace. Rest in God’s comfort and assurance man.
I am ecstatic over this song & rival sons takes me back to my teenage Rock n roll days, the 70's, they are just awesome
Beautiful song love this band. Hope to see them here tomorrow.
First time I heard Rival Sons was July 2014. I was a instant fan. Everoabout this band is spot on perfect. Saw them twice at The Stone Pony.
I just wish they were bigger, they deserve more credit than they are given.
When my dad died, I couldn't stop listening to this song, And now my mom isn't long for this world. Makes me leak.
Nothing helped me more with watching my dad pass before my eyes than this song.
This song got us through the passing of my mother Virginia
Who in their right mind would give this a thumbs down?
to me personally, this is the greatest performance of any song I've ever heard. I LOVE THIS BAND! A much needed band in parlous times!
I agree Nick !!
theyre rock n roll you know
Squeaky Reed , couldn't agree more! 👍🏻
Yes, yes, yes!!!!
Squeaky Reed check out their two man acoustic live radio version of Face of Light... now that to me is one of the best live performances. So much feel, it hits you in the feels with feels... feels.
I love this band. Jay always brings me to tears on this song.
Went to a gig last weekend in munich germany. After Jays introduction what "Jordan" is all about, the performance almost killed me. absolutely overwhelming. tears. joy. revelation.
Goosebumps! Watching this and Rival Sons other acoustic versions! It oozes gospel/soul. Simply numbing. IMO
This is a blow to the senses. Where have I been as this band has come along. This song is so haunting and so representative of the groups artistry as a whole. I am now a loyal fan. Now we have music to appreciate. Now we can truly ask the question: where did the music go? where has it been?
Best band of the 20th century
Tightest group I have heard for years.
My father died yesterday and I have been listening to and been comforted by this song since he got sick two weeks ago. This is how it feels to lose someone you love. Magic song, magic performance and Jay is singing straight into my heart. Thank you for making my loss a bit more bearable.
Danne Pohl I pray you are reminded of the incredible father you have who is in Glory smiling over his beloved daughter
Sorry for your loss, Danne Pohl, I understand really so well: I did listen to this song a lot when my father went into the Light (in 2015) - it really healed me a little bit...
it's been over a year but I still want to say I'm sorry for your loss. I've been there.
I'm so sorry for your loss. I lost my daddy a few months ago
@@evulmievl 1 year or eternity, time is of little consequence when speaking of the loss of a soul so dear to ones own. I will miss dad until my death
This is more beautiful than words can Express. Pure and raw feeling. Thank You, Rival Sons!
This sing hits you right in ❤. Your voice is so much feeling. 😍
just became a recent fan of this band....they genuinely deliver some great and emotive music not to mention they are all great players.
This is a masterwork. Perfect song, perfectly performed.
Thanks for sharing Brett, kickin' tune for sure. Cheers!!!
Deep...Honest...Heart Wrenching. If this doesn’t touch your soul... you may need to check your pulse.
Rock will never die, because our souls feed on it.
Thanks Rival Sons.
"Excuse me for my English."
I played this at my mother's funeral
This song will be played at my funeral
Beautiful pipes!
The whole band as a whole are fantastic. 🎉
I'll definitely play this at my funeral. Just so everyone knows I will inform my family knows as well I love this song
My my my....who is this young man?
Honey, you have serious talent.
I have to say that while most people notice the exquisite guitar work and absolutely stunning vocal performances, just as often it's the crazy bass lines and the super tight but virtuous drum work that makws me go crazy about this band
I want this song to play on my funeral.
I am completely blown away by the level of emotion and talent I am hearing. This is just the 3rd song I've heard from this band. The first song was a CCR cover. In the last hour I've been draining fluid from my eyes as I feel a deep connection to the content I've witnessed from the two original songs I played.
This singer has massive soul that is amazingly delivering deep lyrics with raw passionate emotion. His voice is absolutely superb. What I have seen so far in just 3 songs is at the same top notch level as the timeless heavyweights throughout the history of recorded music. I am just baffled how I've never managed to know about this band until less than 2 hours ago.
I am almost nervous to check out anything else from them because I don't want to lose this feeling if I am disappointed by other things they've made. But I also want to get the validation and feel the need to share what I've found with others who are touched by the magic of high quality music for the soul.
Please oh please let everything I encounter from this band to be at this level.
Either way I thank the universe for guiding me this far and grateful for the 3 songs I've been rewarded with the pleasure of consuming.
I have needed to experience majesty like this so badly over the past 9 months.
What a gift!!!
☮️💟🎵
Listen to all their stuff mate, they won't disappoint...only discovered a week ago myself and I have not listened to a single note of another band since. And I'm a 50 year old maiden, acdc, sabbath, purple nut case but these boys are a literal Godsend. That voice ......no more words
same !
So sad and so beautiful!
Literally the most beautifully song I'VE EVER HEARD.

This Song helped me through the time as my mom died Last january
