I totally believe the brothers, the band member from Menudo Jose raped repeatedly, and the Madam who appeared on Geraldo in 1993 whose girls serviced Jose Menendez and who detailed to her his extreme cruelty when they serviced him. She had to finally cut him off. Threatened to report him. If these boys were monsters the apple doesn't fall from the tree. They were made. Not born. After 3 decades they deserve to be freed. They have been model prisoners who have helped countless prisoners behind bars. They have done excellent work on prison reform as well. I suspect they would stay in prison and die there but it is society who is saying otherwise. I think they deserve to be free. And, I hope they will be freed in time for Thanksgiving.

His own children don't talk to him and have already said that he has no right to say anything because he doesn't know anything, he wasn't even close to the boys growing up, he never went visit them, never talked to them and he was never a trustworthy figure for them. Moreover Mr. Milton was abusive towards his wife and his children didn't trust him, that's why they never told him what they saw at the Menendez household, they knew that he wouldn't believe them. He is part of that hush hush mindset. Oh and the asking witnesses to lie. Well I would have done the same in absolute desperation. At that time, real witnesses weren't ready to speak up or were too scared or too young. If I'm certain I murdered a child SAer who was torturing me and my brother my whole life, I would also not want to end up in prison for having defended myself. Whatever wrong actions they took doesn't negate the fact that those two boys were victims.

He didn't though. A will of that magnitude has to be notarized and there was no record of that nor a notary that came forward. Their uncle managed their expenses and he approved them. That's not what triggered them. The trigger was Erik confessing to Lyle that his father had been SAing him and that he wouldn't let him move to a different city to attend college which meant he had to remain in the prison mansion to be continuously and relentlessly abused by his sick father. Lyle just wanted to protect Erik.

It’s sets a precedence that literally anyone can kill their parents, they just have to say they were abused. They were 21 and 19 when it happened. They weren’t trapped there
I am assuming you don’t know how the law works. This would not set any dangerous precedent. No one is saying m*rder is right. We are saying that the abuse and trauma should always be taken into account when sentencing. They have already spent over 35 years in prison so they would not be getting off Scott free. The brothers have been exemplary inmates and have been doing a lot of good in there, if you are worried about them being a potential danger to society. Lyle has never even gotten into a fight during his incarceration. Erik works with dying and disabled inmates. There are letters of recommendation from their correctional officers, and they are both well respected by staff and inmates alike. Also, I would recommend that you educate yourself in the areas of ‘battered person syndrome’ , ptsd and the psychological ramifications of child s/a, before blaming them for not leaving. You should know better in 2024.

I still remember the first trial, the brothers laughing and talking to each other, terrifying.
They were tortured, confused kids in a traumatic situation.
