Welcome back all,
In this video, myself and Lauren start to transform our VW T4 van that we recently purchased from auction. We started with the bare shell of the van, that we had sound deadened & insulated in the previous video. We started off by using VeeDub Transporters 4-way stretch carpet lining to cover all of the green metal sections in the back of the van. This product was very easy to use and forgiving if you needed to get a crease out or correct a mistake. We then moved onto carpeting our wooden door cards which was slightly more challenging than expected but we got there in the end!
Once the van was fully carpeted we decided to lay down our pre cut 6cm flooring, which I self tapered down to the metal floor. We then played down our vinyl flooring that we picked up from a local hardware store and we were very happy with the result.
Finally we bolted down our rock and roll 3/4 bed, this needed to have the cushions screwed to the frame and then I belted it down to the floor with the fixing bolts supplied.
Overall we are really pleased with the result & are exited to carry on adding to our camper van to make it perfect for us! We also wanted to give VeeDub Transporters a massive thank you for supplying us with some of the parts to convert our VW T4!

Love it Mitch. Great transformation on the interior. You got the fit spot on. Doing a job yourself makes it so satisfying. Mitch and Lauren make an excellent video, always positive and smiling and when one talks the other has a happy face and this in turn reflects on the viewer.

Great informative video for anyone building a camper. The only thing I would of said is a full width bed with three seats would be way more comfortable, I know that wouldn’t leave space for cabinets but you could have a kitchen pod against the front seats.
Cheers pal! I think it’s all down to personal preference with the bed size, this one suits us well but may not suit others the same 👍🏻

You two are a hell of a team, you made light work of, let's be fair a bit of a daunting task and it's turned out seriously well. I imagine it's a nice cosy place to be especially on the colder nights with electric hook up and a heater, in the summer though it'll be amazing to stay out in.

Nice job in the interior sides! I opted for insulation goam under my wood floor, helps retain abit of the heat inside and makes the habitation area quieter. I like the design of the vinyl floor. I went for the grey stripe effect and grey/red tartan panels😂
Thank you! That’s a great idea I was unsure wether to insulate under the floor, we opted just for a small bit of sound deadening. If we notice it’s very cold we may do as you said and put some insulation under the flooring! 😎

fun build but Mitch you gotta insulate that floor at some point, under the wood, at least 18mm

@@Mk2Mitch any insulation would be better than nothing, most the heat seems to go out the roof or floor in my experience, a simple framework then insulation blocks (usually just polystyrene with some kind of lining on it) should to the job, loads of videos on YT about it but I like Greg Virgoe vids, his most recent floor job is probly thicker than you need to go tho

Keep a seam roller in ya box to get in all the nooks and crannies,get plenty drill bits and take it slowly when ya fit the blinds they snap easy 👍🏻

Get yourself a diesel heater, as yours is a caravelle you can tap into the rear heating so it’ll come out of the vents 👍🏻

I fully cleaned and degreased all the metal panels with Isopropyl alcohol before fitting the soundeadening, insulation and fabric. Also, I let the trimfix flash off for 5 minutes before fitting the fabric.
One thing I didn't do was cover all the little holes with tape. Doh!😂😂
