Building & Riding the Backyard Oscar Drop

- Today we build a mini feature and name it after Oscar! The feature is a mountain bike drop which is small enough for Oscar to actually follow and run off of.

I want to give a shout out to Kevin. Every mountain biker needs a “Kevin” in their lives. Enjoying his contribution to the channel and trail system. 👍🏼
Dude is a really great guy/friend.
Wholesome 💯
Yeah he seems mad fun.
So true man. Well said
Thanks Rick. This is was my first hand cut section and glad it worked out well. The wall ride is was the icing on the cake.
The production quality just keeps getting better and better. For what started as a side channel, this is some great content.
@@sbinnala14 the first 2 min was more than enough to conclude this
@@lucasgauci what ?? You had to watch the video to conclude this???
Agreed
Nearly has 1m subs calls it "side" channel😝
this is probably his main channel now lol
Oscars little sneeze at 4:44 mid turn is too much! He was so excited about the delivery man treats too. This was such a fun video.
Ya
As I veterinarian, I’m intrigued by your making a Frenchie into a trail dog ,and I’m glad Oscar is having such a fun, enriched, active life. (Typing this as I recover from a similar mtb-related ankle fracture as yours - 2 plates, 17 screws)
(And yes I watched the Knee Rover upgrade video!)
Heal up! Yeah Oscar was supposed to be Amie’s dog, but he hangs out with us all day. She wanted a good house and cuddle dog, but it turns out he’s a country pup!
@@BermPeakExpress what do you want that he's a real country pup? With such a big and great playground in his backyard! I think he can be a real cuddle pup too you know 😉 ! But i totally understand you guys... Once a Frenchie... Always a Frenchie. Whetever he's a cuddle pup or a country pup...
@@BermPeakExpress Do you have information on the breeder he came from? His build is great, and I am just now contemplating a new one since losing mine earlier this year.
Seth, I caught this video 15 minutes after it was released and 6,000 people had already watched it. If the question is whether or not people want to see more of this sort of thing, I think that's a yes.
I’d rather see something different, but kind of the same!!
I caught this video 1 hour after it was dropped and almost 40,000 people already watched it.
I just like his voice.
2h here, about 52k views
almost 10 thousand likes and just over 65'000 views
Who would have ever thought Oscar would become the trail dog you always wanted 🤘🏻
Seth has to figure out a way to put wheels on him!!
@@MichaelRei99 Chris P Bacon
He‘s like the dog in FarCry 6. Chorizo is his name i believe
He definitely has a low center of gravity.
@@thomasmedeiros5722 very fast lil puppy
Oscar's bottom bracket is almost dragging on the ground.
Wait what
I know it’s not the best but it is fine
Nice to see it come together, fellas. I think that ice cream from Friday gave you the extra strength to move the boulders, lol. Good meeting y'all!
Hey Seth one thing to point out thought that those screws might still snap because it looks like the boards don't have much gap in between and as we have seen on The Airbag jump that can snap screws, So be awear of broken screws on the next check😅😅
Great video Seth, The drop is cute just like Oscar and talking of Oscar he is much more energetic as a trail dog than Drama miss him soo much
Yep! We didn’t get good audio of me talking about it but I did gap them very slightly. We didn’t want big gaps because of Oscar’s little paws.
@@BermPeakExpress Oh Yeah! I totally forgot about that and I did thing you would talk about it at the end but I was confused when you didn't!!
@@snbsmtb The way Oscar lands so close to that rock on the landing makes me cringe every time, my heart stops! Perhaps that needs some chiseling away, Kevin nearly imploded his derailleur on it too lol
@@BermPeakExpress You might need to gap them more. Back of the envelope math puts a 6" wide board of black locust moving up to 3/32" over a year. (Radial coef of expansion of ~.0025 per 1% change in moisture, with outdoor east coast having up to 5% change over a year, within several standard deviations of normal expectations).
Those gaps look under 1/8", I think you'd want at least 1/4" for safety and drainage.
An alternative to larger gaping, which does reduce the holding power of the screws but means you can keep the gaps smaller is to make the screw holes wider in the direction of movement, so the board can move around the screw. You'd want to use washers between the screws and the boards, or even longer screws with bigger heads, though.
Surprised I woke up early enough for this. Haven't watched more than 30 seconds but I already know it's gonna be good!
It’s around lunchtime in Sweden when he launch the video, so this is perfect!
@@Astu-yg5po its 15:42 in germany right now idk its anm hour after lunch time lol
@@Astu-yg5po oh ok Thanks!
It's really important to keep a breed like a Frenchie in shape, with their potential for health problems from their conformation; it can keep them healthier so much longer. It's great to see Oscar being so athletic on this feature designed for him!
You know its a good channel when you feel like you know everyone personally (including Oscar obviously)
always love to see new things being added to the trails and ridden no matter the video length
Just do like I do , if you want a longer video watch it again and again!!
YEA SETH! Been waiting for this one ever since Drama passed. Thanks so much man
Don't worry about me...just over here watching all of your pup videos. SO CUTE! As the mom of two frenchies...this is the absolute best.
Hey Seth, i love watching Oscar ride the trail. Hopefully he gets bigger to a point where you can let him wear an action cam for dog POV trail cruising. i don't think i'm the only one here who would want to see that! make it a playlist of every portion or even the whole dh lap in berm peak of what Oscar can do!
i'm already suepr stoked just thinking about it! ;)
he’ll be tired out after half a run lol
@@huntersweapons2175 i think so too but it's worth to try. =D
honestly just great line choice by oscar, saving all the energy and speed he can for some skids infront of the wallride
I absolutely love how your editing and the way these videos turn out has changed over the years! A lot of UA-camrs don't age well.
I LOVE your editing style, and all the music you choose. Your videos videos are S Tier in my opinion.
I can see Drama just looking down at Oscar and be proud of his lil brother
It wouldn’t be a berm peak episode if there wasn’t the prime ‘something different’ slogan
I love mountain biking! Have my own decent bike and all. Started off a few years ago and Seth told me everything I needed to know about the sport. Great channel, keep it up!!!
we love seeing the smaller builds too seth. theyre much more relatable for a lot of us who can only build on a smaller scale
Building & Riding is the best series from you and has been since it started
Ive been going through alot of famiy stuff And its 1 am and your videos just help me through, thank you so much Seth. 👍
As a carpenter i was always taught, that a good rule of thumb, is that the screw must be 2x the dimention of the wood. So if you have 2 inch boards the screws need to be 4 inches :)
I love these little videos, short, and right to the build. nice thing to wake up to on a Sunday!
Love your home trail builds Seth. They are really cool and I love seeing how you and your friends put it all together.
Finally! A drop for Oscar!
I started watching your videos because of the bikes!! Now I'm just waiting for Oscar to show up! 🐶
Trail building content was the reason I subscribed. Wasn’t far off unsubscribing until the past two videos! Finally getting back too it. Can’t wait for more
I love build & ride on BP Express! Even the small stuff! One of my favorite videos right here. Keep it up Seth!
Finally the Oscar drop! Love seeing Oscar send his drop
This is going to become iconic I already know it.
Oscar running past the wallride at about 4:45 made my day. Fun stuff!
Love seeing this property progress. Well done guys
The amount of bloopers and clumsiness kills me 😂
I love it, and I love Oscar! It just makes me sad to hear him struggling to breathe due to the way people have bread these types of dogs :(.
(this is not at all an attack on Seth for his choice of dog btw)
Yeah they would be cool little dogs if breeders would stop going for such extreme features. The huge increase in demand for frenchies doesn’t help reduce bad breeding either.
Love the channel man you are doing so great. Being here from the beginning has made so many memories and your experience with everything has progressed so much.
Never a dull moment in any of these videos, your consistency/hard work is unimaginable, and I thank you for it. Enjoy your Sunday my friend.
Does anyone else remember when he was trying to make drama a trail pup and now Oscar is a trail pup
Loved this video! Casual build video
I love these little project videos and these kind of features are so much fun.
these dudes are really living the dream of a mountain biker, nothing gets better than this
This is awesome! I’ve been waiting for is Oscar’s feature ever since the second drama drop!

Honestly, these videos are the best. I binge watched the "Berm Peak" Playlist over on the main channel in just a few days. I would really like to see a lot more of these videos and more often!
I love this, its a start to a new beginning and I cant wait to see it play out.
The vibes remind me of early Seth videos, but with the best production yet. Just some friends hanging out and enjoying the fun

Now these are the unedited videos I like. That was amazing great job!!
That's such an awesome, and creative way to build a feature. Can't wait for the future

Finally! A feature at Berm Peak that I could actually do!

I like these trail build videos. Keep it up!
I'd love to see the smaller stuff too. It's in many ways just as interesting, and the little details is what makes a trail good.
You inspire me a lot. I really like your content and i enjoy watching.
Honestly, I appreciate any content for Berm Peak. The presentation style just works for me.
