    They make serious mistakes here.. they expect us to take them seriously and fly safely and legally.. you don’t trust the message until you trust the messenger…. Unbelievable!!

      That has always been my issue with bringing them to task too much in a public way. Sadly, however, it seems this might be the only way to get change.

    I would assume the 75,000 originally comes from the PWC paper from 2018 titled Skies without limits which states 76,000 drones by 2030. All commercial drones mind you.

    Sending copied letters/emails to MPs is not the way to go. They need to be unique content, based on the sample letter. i.e. in your own words.

    The CAA must be hiring 10 year olds to prepare there reports which contains figures from fantasy island. If they are doing this for RPAS what have they done to other parts of the aviation industry.

    🥺 didn't get a notification for this one

    Maybe the CAA are actually talking about ' businesses /companies ' rather than OA holders? For instance, network rail, they may have 400 uas in operation/flying, or the police have 2000 uas in operation/flying. 7000 would would make sense, and the scaling up to 75000 operational/flying by 'buisness/companies isn't that far-fetched....especially with delivery uas users coming into the airspace.

    • @Geeksvana
      @Geeksvana  2 місяці тому +5

      No. They have confirmed the 7000 was nonsense, sadly. Numbers of UAS by each OA holder is also not tracked by the CAA. We have asked that before.

      P.S. they confirmed their future prediction is actually 3.5K to 2031. That includes delivery companies etc. Remember drone deliveries etc will not use a PDRA.

      We read the paragraph containing the 7000/75,000 figures several times and as charitably as possible. We couldn't make the context of the paragraph fit to anything other than authorisation-holders.

      @PhantomandtheDrone 2 місяці тому

      @eyeup we certainly know there aren't that many OA holders, but actual uavs in operation those figures would make sense.
      The fact remains that the figures are wrong within the context they were submitted. It's just hard to understand, especially from an organisation that we are meant to trust and follow.

    Much of this is incomprehensible because of the acronyms. A one-liner explanation would help.

    • @eyeup
      @eyeup 2 місяці тому

      Let me know which of the acronyms you need explaining. OA in this case is an Operational Authorisation. That's one of the key ones and is the document the CAA releases to allow operations in the Specific Category against a risk assessment. The risk assessment may be a CAA produced Pre-Determined Risk Assessment (PDRA), or one generated by a user organisation. The latter would be an Operational Risk Assessment (ORA,) often referred to under the legacy term Operating Safety Case (OSC).

      Hi! Our how to and drone rule videos take a lot of time to explain the different meanings, etc. I don't like using industry language too much but sometimes it is required. Particularly when discussing technicality at this level. Otherwise every video would be 2hrs long.
      I have thought about creating a 'key' in the description with acronyms.

    Current growth rate cannot be extrapolated forward if the CAA reforms come in making BVLOS more widespread. It’s all crystal ball gazing

    • @Geeksvana
      @Geeksvana  2 місяці тому

      Hey Paul! 100% agree. Future flight is very much that. We should prepare and embrace it, but not ruin what we have now in case it happens.

    Hmmm. So representatives of what the CAA see as a body which is inherently ‘unprofessional’ call out the ‘professional’ body governing the industry without recourse? Your request for clarification and transparency to government is the least that should happen. Is this not industrial and public fraud by the CAA when they are supposedly the regulatory body??
