Hi Lina!!! I bought this gel in it’s travel size about a week and a half ago, and have been trying it out. I think it’s the best gel that I’ve tried to be honest, and I’m from South TX where the humidity is high and present literally all year round and it works REALLY well in humidity. Surprisingly enough, it makes my waves even more bouncy after some time in the humidity. It’s puzzling to me, but hey, I like it. Also, I don’t get much of a gel cast from this product either! It’s nice to know I wasn’t the only one. Thanks for making this vid. It’s nice to see someone with wavy hair try products I’m interested in.
I'm so glad it works well for you! That's really good to know. And thanks for the feedback. I always wonder when I don't get a cast if I'm the only one, so I love hearing other peoples experiences. ☺
I have thought about buying it. Love your hair ❤😻. I thought of buying a more liquid gel for my fine hair. The thicker the gel the more it weighs my hair, and makes me look like a poodle.
I definitely get that. Heavier gels make my hair look a lot flatter too. This is a very nice, light weight gel and my hair did actually last several days, despite the lack of a gel cast. It caught me by surprise.
Thank Lina :) not in my budget darnet lol even with your hair a little straight on the one side your hair looks beautiful and you look good in that color lipstick thanks for another great video ❤️
I kind of wondered. The only reason I sprang for it was because I happened to look at it on a day that it was 50% off. I got very lucky there. Thank you for the compliments. I realized while editing that my hair, even with the flat bits, still looked way better than I thought. I'm always really critical at the time of filming and realize it wasn't that bad while editing. That lipstick is one of my favorites, and it's so cheap too! I think I have it linked in the description if you're curious.
I have the gel with the white label. I can't remember what it's called. Climate something by Ouidad. It doesn't really help my frizz or last very long. I live in Georgia and it's hot and humid a majority of the time. I also noticed that my hair is not liking gels or products with glycerin in them. I've started brush styling my hair again and I'm still having trouble with finding a good gel that controls frizz and gives me definition. I tried the curl maker or whatever it's called. It seemed to work better in the humidity for me. I just don't like how thick and sticky my hair feels after I apply it. One day I will find something that works! Lol I love your wisdom! Thank you! 😊
I know which one you're talking about. I think the name is exactly the same, just the red labeled bottle has "stronger hold" underneath it. That surprises me that it doesn't work well, but it is a much lighter hold, so maybe that's the problem. I know finding gels for humid climates can be very hard. I wish I had more advice. I'll have to do some research and see if I can come up with some suggestions. If you do find something you really love, you'll have to let me know. Good luck!
I tried this one and didn’t love my first try (no cast and weighed down), but I was also trying a new cream, and there’s a good chance I used too much of that. (I hadn’t heard that it’s moisturizing, or I might have skipped it entirely.) I’m going to give it another shot over the summer when I’m more concerned with humidity. If anyone wants to try it, Ulta has it in a trial size.
I haven't managed to get a cast out of it either, though other's have told me that isn't that uncommon. I would recommend giving it another try though. It's always hard when combining two new products to know if one is the problem or if they're both the problem 😂 Hopefully you can get it to work for you.
No cast for me either with that product. I used Biosilk Hard Rock Gelee today & got no cast either. Great hold though. Treluxe High Definition gel is about the only gel I get a cast with & Curlsmith Souffle gel. NYM Curl Talk is too drying for my hair and is the Curlsmith hard hold gel (can't think of the name) is too drying. I thought the Biosilk gel was going to be drying but it's not. I think your refresh looks amazing. You have very beautiful curls. Tfs! Blessings !
That's so interesting! Thanks for sharing. I haven't tried any of the Biosilk products, do you like them? I like the Treluxe gel. If I remember right, I do get a slight cast out of it, but not a lot. I actually haven't tried the Curlsmith Souffle. I should probably try that one too. I know a lot of people really like it. I'm always surprised that I don't have issues with the NYM Curl Talk products. I know a lot of people experience drying when using them. It's too bad. Thanks for the compliments. 😊 I appreciate it.
@@Linas_lovelylocks I am on day 3 with the Biosilk gel & it has great hold so far. No refreshing! Yay! Then again, I used 3 gels. The Biosilk Rock Hard Gelee over Curlsmith Soft Balm Cream, Curlsmith foam, then after I put that on, I glazed some Curlkeeper Original on my hair. Plopped, dried to about 50% & glazed some Inhasi strong hold gel over it. So I don't really know 100% if the Biosilk alone gave me the hold. I tend to use several products to keep my hair lasting with little frizz & a good hold. I love experimenting with different products. (Got to find some way to use up my stash!🤭) tfs! Blessings!
@@simplyamandashomesteadsampler I think that's a great idea. Layer products definitely helps with longevity. I need to do it more. Especially, like you said, to help use up my stash. 😂 It's just so fun to experiment with different products! It's hard not to want them all.
It doesn't give me a cast either, but it lasts well for me. I just recently did a side by side comparison on the Dove Texture Finishing Gel and the Ouidad Advanced Climate Control Strong Hold Gel. All that to say, don't expect a cast from this gel.
It depends on the section. Any time I'm talking, it's normal speed. If it's a shorter section that I still want to show, I might do 2x speed. When I'm going through the longer sections, I'll even go up to 20x.

I have never had any luck with ouidad or curlsmith I find I never reach for them. The Tresluxe Hi def and 4 in 1 cream is a great combo!
That's definitely fair. I love the Treluxe Hi def Gel. The cream is a little on the heavy side for me, but I do still love their products. 💕
