      Song structure is something that I don't see many beginner tutorials putting a focus on, and to me its one of the most important things to learn when starting out!

    question: is it right to mix with those kind of keys that u showed us? or for example A3 with A5 or A7 with A10 in order to mix in key? i like to mix deep house usually and i want to know if this kind of mix sounds right. thnx man!

    Great tips, working with the song structure in open format mixing is something that I am not doing so I’ll give that a try.

    #1 rule of DJing, Never, Ever have 2 people talking/singing at same time.

    So which chorus gets played? Is the second song brought in as the first songs chorus finishes? Or do you bring in the second song's chorus as the first song's verse ends?

      You would bring in the intro of song b at the beginning of the chorus of song a.

    Hmm that sounded weird, not a smooth transition. I think if you would it use a loop of the intro of the second track as the first track played and slowly cut the mids when bring the second track loop and once is just the loop then you can play the vocals of the second track and let it play regular it would sound better and smoother transition. I always learned that never to mix 2 vocals cos it confuses the crowd and it will through the mix off plus it will sound weird like in your video.

    Also consider key.

    • @PDot

      Key is something to consider, but I've found that key is more important when mixing dance music.

      At times yes because you hear more instruments. But still relivant

    What happens when BPM differs drastically and you don't want to introduce it abruptly? How do you Mix it smoothly without distorting the track by adjusting the bpm

    • @PDot
      @PDot  7 років тому

      +GERHARD PILLAY I would say either make sure to keep the song you're mixing in within a close bpm range. Or try using a "bpm transition" track that you can find on some record pools.

      If you have use of traktors remix decks they become a lot easier to do...

    • @djpuma007
      @djpuma007 5 років тому

      Hmm well there a few things you could do. 1 use a transition song 2- make loop on the fly of the first track that way you can either speed up or down to match the speed of the second track and blend it or mix, 3- fade out and fade in meaning you can turn off the song making sound as if the song slowly going down or off as you bringing the second track and last you can do a simple scratch to bring the second track and cut the first off on the scratch.

    I'm not sure I like this example.... it doesn't sound good at all to me.
