Great job figuring out this holy grail of incredible tunes, and well done playing it! I might give it a shot learning how to play it as well - expect to hear back from me in about 15-20 years 👍
Never considered how Dirty Boy is the perfect Cardiacs Christmas song. Played this real loud to wake my brothers up this morning! Thank you for this. Merry Christmas.
Thank you, thank you, my good Z-Man. And happy holidays. This upload makes a perfect present - on Good Friday I'd say, but Xmas will do very nicely - for that person who has every neurosis. So, now that I'm officially declaring myself your fanboy, please do share a pointer to your CDs (I'm assuming a few people other than me still bother with such relics). Or Patreon if you have one. We out here in UA-cam land ought to have a way to help support what you do. I'd love to obtain editions of (say) your filibusters and steam-powered symphonies - not to mention your Cardiacs and TMBG covers. Sadly, the closest I can find is “Zachary's Thin Mints” on Amazon. I suppose I could make do, but your music is both more enjoyable and less fattening. Bless.
Voidoid, thank you so much, it truly means a lot. I should set up a Patreon someday. As for a cd of my Filibuster Saloon material or even my classical compositions, it hasn't happened yet. Here's hoping!
One has to occasionally return to Zachary's confession to having been a Very Dirty Boy, but this is also to let you know that Norwegian band, *Major Parkinson* are about to release their new double album, and have composed a beautiful piece called *Show Me the Money* all about how the listener should show them the money so Jon can Make Music Great Again. You might enjoy listening to it. ua-cam.com/video/3OAXI4kHjWE/v-deo.html (The part where it says "Hello Tim" refers to a picture on the wall of the time when they were all pestering Tim Smith when he came to one of their shows. He was a fan of theirs, hence the assumption that you might somehow like their music.) The fandom is mutual. Their live show online starts with a well known Cardiacs hymn, I seem to recall. The album has been a long time in the making (it's already done, so the crowdfunding is just to try to recover some expenses, then make a huge profit, and probably spend it all on drugs next year.) Long time = 4 years, plus. But it is a double album. And thanks again for this Dirty Boy.
Ecstatic Christmas! Thanks! You might enjoy *A Night at the Library* - a UA-cam concert by *Major Parkinson* (- from Bergen, Norway, in case you've yet to encounter them - and some of Tim Smith's other orphans this Christmas). They uploaded it the other day, in full. ua-cam.com/video/6PIP36aczlg/v-deo.html (violin, grand piano, drums, and Jon). (Or Ivar, I suppose, one could also say.)
Very worthy- shows the magnificence that is missed that is Tim
we must sing to tim 🙏
Cardiacs is one of my favorite bands
I love this so much! So nice to see that there are others who cherish this majestic song. I no longer feel alone in my adoration of Cardiacs.
Absolutely fantastic my friend! 👏👏👏
And once again, brilliant. Definitely Tim's magnum opus.
Bravo 👏 I'd love to play this on a giant pipe organ in a church and have a choir singing the lyrics
The majesty of this track - it could be classical music. Brilliantly arranged and played, thanks Zach.

laudation!
As a keys player, I wouldn't go near this track, too hard! Well done!
really? I would say it's one of their easiest songs, it's pretty slow and it's mostly chords, no licks or tricky rhythms
@@zacharydetrick7428 It's remembering all the chord variations and weird tempo shifts. You did really well.
Thank you so much for posting this great rendition. It's a beautiful song and you played it wonderfully.
Wow this is fantastic

Worthy of Laudation.
Love it!
Ah, the majesty of it all.
LAUDATION !!! Have an awesome Dirty Christmas

Out of curiosity, whats your favorite Cardiacs song? I like Bellyeye and Hello Mr. Sparrow right now but it definitely changes
Ooo hello mr sparrow is a great pick! right now it's probably Dinner Time or Jibber and Twitch
Bravo
This is absolutely incredible! Has to be a contender for the song with the most chords ever. How long did it take you to learn?
Amazing work, I loved listening to this! How much money do have to throw at you for you to publish sheet music?
Hey, if you want to play any of my Cardiacs arrangements on your own, you can throw me a note at zacharydetrick@gmail.com . Glad you enjoyed it!

Oh yeah, Major Parkinson are great. Came to Cardiacs right after hearing of Home of fadeless splendour in the beginning of their performance.
Ecstatic Christmas! Thanks!

Could you maybe share the midi?
Sure. I put it in the video description
Awfully good, I must say.
