You guys passed our homestead in your last video. We're off old Highway 80 close to Wellton but in the county rural area. We've driven our side-by-side into some of the mountains around us and really loved it. The snowbirds flock down here in the winter and we have a blast with our neighbors when they return. You can follow the old trail that follows the powerlines far into the mountains then back out again. Fascinating around here. We're glad we bought land here. You should check it out.
Very pretty where the joshua trees are! Love all of the animal tracks. We really enjoy Red Rock Canyon a bit S of Dove Springs - have wondered about this place - I think if we went mid-week it would be great!
Thx for the great video brought back the memmories as 1st started dirt bike riding there in the 60s lots of camp outs under the stars. I think I see a toyhauler and UTV in your future. Great fun in the outdoors. Happy Camping
I spent a lot of time at this very spot in the 1960's with my Parents and Big Brother, Cousins and the San Fernando Valley Stump Jumpers 4 wheel drive club. Endless things for Kids to do and the pot luck dinners were DELICIOUS! This is also where the LA Aqueduct Railroad terminated (not the Lone Pine Branch) and a large construction camp for the construction of the LA aqueduct was over a 100 years ago. Thanks for the memories Love Your RV.
Wow that side by side can get you in some places you would have never been able to go without. Did you rent or by one or just thinking about it. With one places you have been going to for years will have a bunch of new places to explore, just make sure you have a winch though haha never leave home without lol. Enjoy live love laugh and be happy
Hi Ray! I am so glad that I found your channel. Now, closed in a flat, due to this situation, we have the possibility to "travel" again. You made great videos, great music selection. All the best to you both, and safe travel! Cheers from Serbia!
Hey Ray, you said you didn't see any snakes but check video @ 2:25. On your walk on the ridge it sure look like a snake just to the left side of your path. Maybe you can check it out and comment if it was a snake. Great video! Thanks , Russ
Great video, as always! I always enjoy your music selections, I hear new music I never would have thought to listen to on my own, thanks for well-rounded, inventive, inspiring videos. Escapism for me ☺️ Question: A few years ago you did a video on how you go about looking up places to boondock. Has anything changed in your methods for that?
Got me thinkin of my old desert rat dad. He lived next to a mining property in northern Nevada. He had a vintage trailer and tinkered in mining science. Lost him in 2013.
We have headed over to the Oregon Coast and will see what happens. If the state parks here stay open and our travel medical insurance stays in place we may stay here a while. It's quite a nice location to ride things out but things are changing day by day. At least we are only a days drive from the border now.
It is the Hella Monsters that concern me. But it has to be hot for them too. Nice empty spot which is exactly what you are looking for these days! Have fun! Did you get a flat? I see a different rim on the right rear.
Yes, picked up a screw back in December, it didn't puncture the tire but didn't trust it anymore so have the spare on. Gonna 4 new tires soon as the OEM ones are wearing out. Cheers, Ray
I've only driven into Jawbone, never camped but has some nice colored rock formations in spots. I think I like the wide open views of Dove Springs better though. Maybe more level campsites to be had as well.
Picked up a screw back in December, it didn't puncture the tire but didn't trust it anymore so have the spare on which has a black rim. Gonna 4 new tires soon as the OEM ones are wearing out. Cheers, Ray
The one Anne has is called a DJI Mavic Mini, very small and lightweight and takes great video and photos, also not too expensive. www.dji.com/mavic-mini Cheers, Ray
Every now and again, Uncle Sam goes through a rough patch. Most American generations have gone through at least one. And this one, like all those before it, will make for some interesting stories for grandpa and grandma to tell the litluns a half-century and more from now.
California is a beautiful state as for as the landscape but the democrats have ruined the once golden state into a tarnished lump of coal. I took my wife last year to L.A. and San Fran and was appalled at the nastiness of human feces and used hypodermic needles everywhere. We drove back to our motel, called the rental company to pick up our convertible, checked out of the motel and caught the next flight out of there. The only good part of the trip was driving the scenic 380 miles between L.A. and San Fran. The destinations, on the other hand, were a disgusting bummer... Great video though :)
Its a huge state, avoid the big cities though. Next time try to spend some time in the more rural areas of CA, its a beautiful state like you say and quite different in the country areas, actually very conservative people out there.

Hi Ray, we lived in LA for 7 years and spent lots of weeks at DS. Great place to dune buggy.
Never did see any razzle snakes🐍

Just thinking about you two and hope that you are well and safe. Take care, cheers from Canada R&D

The song played while riding the atv sounded like the Chipmunks! 😉👍
Hi Ray. With what’s going on, are you heading home soon 🇨🇦?

How would you compare Dove Spring to Jawbone?
I've only driven into Jawbone, never camped but has some nice colored rock formations in spots. I think I like the wide open views of Dove Springs better though. Maybe more level campsites to be had as well.
Does the mini drone tell you if you are in a no fly area?
Yes, its part of the DJI app
Had to cancel our trip and retreat to TX. How's the virus treating you Ray?
Thankfully no problems, been keeping to ourselves away in the boonies.
You guys have a lot more nerve than me going into that mine shaft, be safe
They wouldn't let us go inside. Not that I minded. Not a cave woman.
So thers plenty of mine shafts to check out. Any that u can help guide us twords? Saftey being #1. 5
Did you change the wheel rims on the back of your truck?
Picked up a screw back in December, it didn't puncture the tire but didn't trust it anymore so have the spare on which has a black rim. Gonna 4 new tires soon as the OEM ones are wearing out. Cheers, Ray
Do yo have a reco for a photo drone?
What is a reco?
A recommendation for a drone to use for taking video and snapshots.

In a short while there will be no free travel between states. Find your long term spot and get settled. Prep well. Be well and peace.

Looks like the old homestead needs a new roof.
Can I get cord please!!
cord?
@@LoveYourRV he wants coordinates, latitude and longitude

First rate example of social-distanccing.
