That kick will still hold up 20 years from now. Calculated no accident creativity. He may have fallen off but Pettis is one if the best martial artists ever. Very underrated

Pettis definitely has to have one of the most underrated chins of all time I don't think I've ever even seen him get wobbled plus RDA smoked him in the head multiple times in that fight and while he definitely busted Pettis up he never knocked him out idk I'm pulling for him vs Holloway I hope he can get another win

Totally agree. He did get knocked down and later TKOed by Holloway, but he wasn't out. He was just hurt, and I'd actually say that was from the weight cut. He looked like death making the featherweight limit. But after that, he hasn't really been stunned by anybody, not even Poirier. He got tired against Poirier and that was it. He still ate all of the shots Dustin threw at him and continued fighting until the rib injury. He has heart, he is tough and he has a chin on him. I hope he can make a comeback and win the title. Even tho, it's probably never going to happen... 😞

Agreed, I was fortunate enough to catch the ufc229 main event and then came to this video. Great job! Very entertaining. I really dig Anthony Pettis. Sure was hoping he would high kick some of the weirdness out of Fergusson last night.
Here's hoping Pettis comes back and makes another "run". He difinitely has the ability. Great job last night brother!...gw

    SHOWTIME.
had the potential to be one of the greatest EVER. IN MY BOOKS, he is. His kicks , TAEKWONDO kicks, gave him the edge. His willingness to take chances, split second, no hesitation instincts to throw badass strikes is why he became SHOWTIME.
HE has a couple finishes that puts in the MATRIX CATEGORY.
    one of the greatest

Have a new found respect for Pettis after watching this. A very humble down to earth guy that can back up every ounce of what he says. In my opinion, he is one of the most gifted fighters on the UFC roster when he is in kill mode. Super strong mind and super stout puncher. I think he is very underrated in his striking ability. Maybe not now after the Wonderboy fight lol but def. In the past. I'm calling it.....he wins the WW title back and retires. That would be an amazing legacy to leave behind. He is already a hall of famer no doubt but that would be icing on the cake!!!!!

Pettis is the man. He's always been one of my favorites. I'm glad he finally moved down to FW; at this weight, it's gonna be much tougher for these wrestlers to lay-and-pray on him. I could def. see him winning the title at 145. It would be amazing if he wins the title at 145 and gets to fight Conor for the 155 belt.
Honestly, whoever is the champ at 145 when Conor comes back should fight McGregor; that's the only way they're gonna prove they're the actual champ.

I feel like Pettis's weight cut will fuck his cardio up in the later rounds. Max holloway is more comfortable at that weight so that gives him the cardio advantage. Though it may not matter if Pettis can find a way to land that vicious left kick to the body or over the top repeatedly. That kick is fucking insane, the way he is so precise with it is NASTY. Holloway would be smart to keep him at boxing range like RDA did for the most part.

The triangles Anthony executed in the WEC were filthy. Just absolutely perfect technique.....particularly him making the angle, hooking the leg and bringing his knees together and down towards his body. It eliminates strength as a means of defense for the opponent. You cannot lift someone and slam them when the triangle is done that way. NASTY.
