Hi Marc, just wondering if the EB60 sixth gear could be swaped into the E351 to replace the fifth gear to lower the crusing revs on the highway. Currently does 3200 rpm for 110kph (70mph).
So is the bell housing plate that covers the 3rd output shaft from an E153 as I assume it wasn't on the Rav4 donor? Could you use a E350 bell housing with a E352F mid case and a wide differential?
the transfer case block off plate actually was on the donor i just did not install it in the video since there was really no value add. when mixing bellhousings and mid cases you need to check that both have or don't have an oil pump and also that both are the same width case and differential style. Also be prepared to reshim the output shaft and the differential.
Do you think there would be any performance benefit from using the 2ar-fse engine with both direct and port injection, or would the added complexity make the swap less viable?
Unfortunately the 2AR-FSE engine is a longitudinal mounted block with a completely different bell housing so it really isn't suitable as a replacement for the 2AR-FE
@@ryanhuntley2651 Generally, comparing the head gaskets is a good way to get an idea if this will work or not. @@FrankensteinMotorworks thank you very much, ill look into your products👍🏻
Can i pay you to build a e350 trans? I dont think any shops like me would be as detailed as you. I sent you a email. Thanks for the video!
👌
film the ford swap
I'd watch the transmission swap but im just one person
I'm confused?
I thought the bottom end was too weak for 9000 rpm?
So far we know that the rods can't handle more than 7800rpm but this build is using upgraded rods and pistons. i don't know the limit of the stock pistons but i may as well replace them while i'm in there and get a more favorable compression ratio.
Let’s see the ford get manual swapped, more manuals regardless of the brand are a good thing!
Show Ford transmission swap please…..
I appreciate the feedback, thanks.
Do it
i saw the giant tranny on the bench and was like... "hold up, its 3 times bigger!"
do the manual swap video, even if it doesn't do as well... whats the deal? you can only find out if you try.
love all the vids, greetings from germany :)
i'm in the middle of an mr2 2zz swap and still curious about the EU C60 transmissions.
no idea what provides the better gearing. a celica ts or corolla ts? i have both, but information is not clear. some say the C64 is the holy grail, but its listed as a corolla trans with a super short 6th. gear, basicly no difference to 5th...
then the celica trans is a C60, with exactly the same gearings and FD, but a longer 6th. why even bother with the C64??
what is even true? damn...
Yeah, the trans is still on the bench because it's so damn heavy I haven't wanted to move it since i rebuilt it.
As for the hesitation, shooting video makes everything take 2-3x longer than it should and the editing is a bit time consuming too. But so far there's been a fair bit of positive feedback to the idea so i likely will.
Don't bother with the C64, overpriced. C60 is just fine.
10:00 NO PLEASE GO INTO THE TECHNICAL ITS SO INTERESTING! at least for me :(
I do get pretty nerdy in these videos but i have to be careful because i'll get on a tangent and spend 20 minutes talking about some tiny detail. But don't worry, the nerdy details are here to stay.
@@FrankensteinMotorworks sounds like some potential patreon content if you ask me
first.
congratulations
yes on ford junk vids
Thanks for the feedback, i'd love to make a video out of it.
Not trying to be a NAY SAYER I don't think the ford video would do as well. But there are probably more ford people than Mr2 owners.. so you'd have a bigger pool, if they found the channel. Anyway love the content, please let us know when the 2gr plenum is worked up for a 2gr TB.
