I'm actually a roofer in the Dallas area, and I can tell you right now, this guy does not understand the roofing industry at ALL and how it's supposed to go with Insurance companies. The average life span of a new roofing company is 3-5 years. This guy is a master speed runner - Usually they can make it for a few years but holy S***. He is the EXACT example of some dude and a friend that heard you can make a lot of money starting a Roofing Company cause insurance will pay you no matter what. That is NOT the case. The company I chose to work for has been around 50+ years, (They still to this day run Radio AM ads) so I'm not only speaking from my own knowledge but the knowledge from everyone else in the company that's been there for 20+ years. The fact that they are chasing the customers for the second check tells me that he's either doing one of these things or all of them at the same time. 1. He cannot tell you what the cost of a roof is without insurance paperwork, and he's lying to the customers about if they actually have damage or not. If you are a roofer working an insurance job, you know that the pricing is set from the insurance company on the first of the month. If every company uses that standard and every roofer should be able to measure a roof, calculate pitch, count vents, eaves, rakes, gutters, ridges, tell you the felt, shingle type, drip edge, flashings, ect. and give an exact quote for the costs of a replacement. Every quote will be same no matter who the company is, because they follow that standard. He can't read the paperwork and is telling his customer lies off it 2. Lying to the customer about the true cost of repair, and giving them a flat price, (We call them the $15K Roofers) then getting swallowed alive cause they can't cover their proper margins, and the end up leaving thousands of dollars on the table. Imagine if you were a car dealership and you sold every car for a flat $10k no matter what it cost them. Of course they'll be flooding with customers - hence 10 jobs all going at the same time 3. He's taking the Deductible and using it to order materials for his next job and not calculating labor, people screwing up the job for unknown reasons, missed materials, and anything else under the sun that could happen. The deductible is the set amount from the insurance company for a reason, which goes back to my first point about him straight up not knowing how to do the basic job of estimating a roof's replacement cost. I love what I do as a roofer, and I absolutely hate to see these kind of people give us all a bad name, when in reality, being honest goes so much further than making a fast dollar. For those who don't know how it works insurance claims or that whole industry, I would recommend a channel called @TheRoofStrategist. Adam is an excellent channel that's all about roofing and insurance claims process. That's all from me - enjoying my sweet treat in my truck on lunch

So this guy doesn’t have a moral obligation to pay certain debts back, but he expects his clients to have a moral obligation to pay him back? I’m confused.
I was thinking the same thing! Every debt he seems to owe is either “it’s unfair” or “they’re a big company” then 2 seconds later when he’s owed the money it’s “but they clearly signed up for this so they should pay”. I know Caleb roots for everyone but this guests kind of logic is infuriating.
He definitely watch those tiktokers that says debt is good but its dumb enough to use on his favor... write off your ELETRICITY because you had a TESLA?

Sorry to hear that, shipmate! This scammer also makes me angry. I was also in the Navy and I am getting 30% for my bummed knee (parachute accident). I used to be a marathon runner/triathlete; but now, I can no longer run or ride a bike (I still do long distance swimming to control my weight).
Yeah, but that's the business in insurance work. Of my last 30 insurance customers, only two became issues. One is on a payment plan and one is ghosting with 5K still owed. Around 600k in gross for the projects, so not horrible, but I get paid once the project is paid in full, so still something that matters to me.
The dude is a scammer, we have these "builders" in Florida, after a big hurricane they swarm like flies to homeowners saying you need a new roof bc of wind damages even they don't. And the homeowner makes a insurance claim they only pay the deductible and insurance pays the rest. It's the reason we have such fucking high insurance in Florida bc of pieces of shit like him, it's also probably why his clients got sued for insurance fraud
@@iamcleaver6854I imagine it’s like you “purposely hitting your car into something” but in reality you just damage your own car and file the claim later with the insurance company then the insurance pays you… well it’s the same thing as roofing. Turns out by the end, he admits that he quit that job that allegedly pays $200k a year, but he still gaslights Caleb and the staff saying that payroll is there at the beginning? He seems like he gets his way a lot by talking in circles and “gaming” the system. He seems like one of those guys who knows everything and BS’s and “always has a plan” but doesn’t actually accomplish anything. In other words, all talk and no results.
He said something at the beginning that made it seem like if you were to look at the totality of money that came in at some point this year you would see that amount of money. So I’ve been thinking the whole time that it’s not really direct deposits as much as it’s just like some sort of Note from the bank that says how much money came in. And because I’m not all the way through. I was thinking that he got paid that money, but not recently or in any other statements that recently got to Caleb and the team.
I don’t know, I feel like he also got scammed by the company he got the franchise from. The largest sucker out there for scams are usually other scammers
It's so obvious, I can't believe comments and even Caleb is entertaining it. Everything he says is a lie, coming up with stories on the way. Who's paying his 'lawyer' fees... please give me a break...
If you have to sue 17 of your clients because they refuse to pay you, there is something really wrong going on, and I'm guessing they are refusing to pay because the work was done horribly or incorrectly, as others said, this guy seems to be scamming his way through everything he touches.
That’s got to be it. There is no way that many people are withholding payment just because they don’t want to pay especially after they are losing their deductible. The roofs haven’t been done correctly and maybe inspections were not approved/finalized so people are waiting for stuff to be fixed.
My guess is it's all a lie and there are no clients. He has zero proof of ever owning a business, probably took out the loans to pay for his lifestyle.

My friend got blown up by an IED, lost about 50% of the hearing in his right ear and constantly gets tinnitus, PTSD, wrecked his shoulder and back from the explosion and they only gave him 70%. He had to fight with a company on behalf of him to help veterans out to get 100% but maintain his employment.
LMAO!!! Panic attacks? I know!!! How shameless for someone to get compensation after a little ass play and some sucky sucky. Sarcasm... Sexual assualt is reason enough for his rating on PTSD.
Yeah, probably the jobs were technically incomplete and there were probably issues that needed to be addressed, so customers refused to take the next step until everything was done correctly.
I think what is happening is he is going after the client because the insurance stopped paying. He went over his budget and the insurance companies refuse to pay more than they agreed on so they go after the homeowner for the difference.
Your producers shouldn’t have let him film. This episode was pointless. Caleb needs to review this with his group as an example of what not to let happen again.
I'll bet every dollar that this is deliberate (for the UA-cam and TikTok engagement). There's a reason for the constant stream of guests who straight up don't give a sh*t about their finances.
Losing interest in this channel with the guests he brings on who aren’t really committed to change and have had an “that’s it” moment. I would film with him but I’m a dad of 2 who budgets and has my finances together. Just interested in how Caleb built together his real estate portfolio.
A lot of this story about the roofing stuff doesn't make sense. Did he start a franchise without understanding any of the actual business agreements? There is zero chance he makes 176,000 a year. That's why that bank statement is never "found".
Roofing contractors engaging in insurance fraud is common. The way it's done is after a storm the contractor goes door to door promising homeowners to get them a new roof for free, paid for by insurance. The homeowner signs their rights over to the contractor to pursue the case with insurance. Then the contractor comes up with an overinflated price for a total roof replacement for a broken tile or two. When the insurance adjuster doesn't agree, the roofing company threatens to take the insurance company to court. The way our court system works it costs the insurance company more to defend these cases than to pay out the claim. So they end up paying some amount of money to settle, and the contractor replaces the roof on the cheap and profits handsomely. The homeowner gets a free roof, the contractor makes a bunch of money, and the insurance company gets screwed and eventually ends up raising rates on everyone to pay for this fraud. This is what happened to Florida. Rampant roofing scams from homeowners and contractors have gotten so bad insurance companies refuse to do business in the state anymore.

VA disability. Not social security disability. Completely different vetting process and rules. Now... if he's on record physically capable and the military wants to recall him for active duty, there would need to be significant mental disqualification or he might he back in uniform.
@@ChachoTrades I didn't say draft. That's different. As for being recalled, it's possible. As for 100% disabled rating upon recall I prefaced that with provably being physically capable (thus fraudulent physical claim) unless there's mental disability on that claim.
Yeah and apparently he was offered a management position for $80k “essentially overlooking all of Texas”. Lmao what a bald faced lie. Dude is just a bullsht artist.
So let me get this straight. The reason this guest is here is to have Caleb write him a budget using the monthly $3.7k VA disability payment as his only income source because he quit his job. He wants to follow this budget until he gets his new job which he has already accepted. Brilliant use of time my guy.
Those homeless vets have full right to utilize the VA most don't even know they offer home assistance for struggling vets. Most don't even fool with the VA because of many things most are just stories of how the VA doesn't care.
The issue is that there's so much bureaucracy and stuff. And that the military loses things for older veterans back when records were all paper. There are lots of shady roofers that go around after storms and do this. Investing can be a powerful tool for building wealth and securing financial stability especially in this hard time. but it’s important to understand that it’s not without its challenges. The investment landscape is inherently volatile, with periods of both gains and losses. This variability is a natural part of investing and requires a clear strategy and patience to navigate effectively.
To be honest, at first and not being from the US, I thought these payments were just a regular benefit that every former military would get, based on how frequently it was brought up. I was wondering how not every single American joins the military just to have this forever salary.
My husband served 3 tours in Vietnam, in combat and was injured. Not sufficiently to take early retirement but over time those injuries took a toll on his body. He was rated at 100% service connected disabled based on the long term injuries to his heart due to infection from shrapnel and severe PTSD, as well as injuries directly due to Agent Orange. Those injuries affected every aspect of his life, yet to his dying day he loved being in the military and loved America. However when he saw younger men claiming to be 100% disabled who never saw combat, never left the CONUS, could still manage to have active social lives; he was rather confused.
This dude is full of crap. I sell roofs via insurance. They do not pay 20% up front. They pay like 60-70% up front which is tyoically the break even point. The money that comes on the back end is usually the profit. Not to mention ive sold hundreds of roofs and never had a single customer try to not pay. He is lying and was obviously horrible at running a business
>they pay like 60-70% up front which is typically the break even point. That would make tons of sense too, so the roof can get fixed quickly. Since the insurance company wouldn't want to delay the fix and have a bad roof lead to damage inside the house.
Dude is a scam artist. He’s lying to the VA to get benefits he probably doesn’t deserve, and he’s lying about his income and lifestyle to get clout he doesn’t deserve. Did Caleb not see/sense? Is he rage baiting us?
As an insurance agent of 20yrs. Not accurate. They pay 80% up front. They release the last 20% known as recoverable after job is completed. Less than a week.
@@michealab5299could be the policy coverage like acv vs replacement cost. Could also be state regs. On Ohio once the claim is approved 80% is released. 20% held back.
There is no set %. It is based on the age of what is being replaced. For example, if you have something with a normal lifespan of 30 yrs and it is 15yrs old, insurance is going to pay 50% minus the deductible. The other 50% will be recoverable depreciation.
I just had a hail claim for my roof approved and insurance estimated the replacement cost at about $17k, we did get a supplement bringing it up to about $21k total. I received $14k initially after it was first approved and just got a second check being up my total to about $17. I have a $1500 deductible and there is both recoverable and non-recoverable depreciation so I'll get some additional money once the roof is replaced but compared to what I've already received, it's not that much. I will end up paying maybe $3000 for the roof replacement, which I think is pretty damn good, especially considering I have no idea how old the roof is but it was estimated to be over 19 years old. I gave the roofing contractor a 50% deposit of the initial insurance estimate, so about $8k. And they'll get the rest when the work is completed.
Bad episode. He’s a complete liar. Said he makes 196K, come to find out he makes $3800 per month off of disability even tho he’s a body builder. And he already made up his mind with regard to what he’s doing financially - bankruptcy. I hope the military saw this and takes his disability away. That’s insane

He can't read the paperwork and is telling his customer lies off it
2. Of course they'll be flooding with customers - hence 10 jobs all going at the same time

There is zero chance he makes 176,000 a year. That's why that bank statement is never "found".
Or there's another account or a bunch of it is in cash. Either way, yeah, it's sketchy.

Thats why his gf is spending his money and doesnt work. Why whould she if they have the infinite money glitch of spending the debt until the bankruptcy?
If rich people can do why can’t the rest of the population do it
The key point is intention. If and only if he takes out the debt knowing it won't get paid, he's committing fraud. Normally the bank wouldn't bother contesting his bankruptcy because how they gonna show intent? Except he just admitted it on UA-cam.
@@nineteenfortyeight6762 Its obviously intent, only on the fact that he already knows that will file for bankruptcy but he tries to prolong it as long as possible. How is he going to fund his lavish spending until the bankruptcy happens if not from the debt?

As someone who used to work insurance fraud claims, this guy is 100 percent starting work on peoples houses prior to the insurance company approving the work. There are lots of shady roofers that go around after storms and do this. My husband is a disabled veteran. He was in a vehicle explosion during his first deployment to Iraq. He deployed three times in 4 years. He has a TBI, back issues, knee issues, intense migraines, PTSD and a whole host of other issues. And this guy gets 100% VA disability???

Tell your husband we thank him for his service and also equally hate this guy for getting full disability when your husband clearly does not. As far as I know it's hard to get full disability from the VA so he's either lying(I'm sure he's lying but since he never deployed I doubt he was injured too bad) about the injuries or he's lying to Caleb about the reason. Hard to say but I'm guessing he scammed the system. Gross.
@@rebeccazeman9309 thank you.
You would be surprised how hard it is and isn’t. All you have to do to get 100% disability is tell the VA you’re an alcoholic or you have such bad PTSD it’s affecting your job or both.

I'm sure there are rare homeowners who try to get away with it. But 17 in one year? That's pure bullshit.
>they pay like 60-70% up front which is typically the break even point.
That would make tons of sense too, so the roof can get fixed quickly. Since the insurance company wouldn't want to delay the fix and have a bad roof lead to damage inside the house.

As an insurance agent of 20yrs. Not accurate. They pay 80% up front. They release the last 20% known as recoverable after job is completed. Less than a week.
I just had my roof redone, and my insurance only paid 30% up front. It may depend on the company.
@@michaelsanders7819 no depreciation with replacement cost.
