The decaying remains of a former set of racing pigeon lofts on a hillside in Sheffield beckon me to explore one bright but wintry January 2024 morning.
I have passed these things throughout my entire Sheffield life and shortly before when I first mistook them, as a small kid staring out his dad's car window, for a load of old train carriages embedded in the side of a hill.
Little did I know at the time that taking a load of birds several hundred miles away across the English channel and leaving them to find their way home again was actually a sport.
Also thrown in at the start is a little one-minute movie called 'Cat Burglar Among the Pigeons' just as a bit of fun.
Just a quick apology for the pixelization of my pretty facial features at the end - I haven't quite done all my homework with the digital side of the editing process just yet.

Back in the day there were upwards of 40 lofts on the bank ranging the full length of about a mile
