Hey David Thanks so much, I'm about to do this to my drone. Got Mavic Pro off ebay for ~$300 because this was the problem -- found replacement "shoulder" (official name: "saddle") for less than $10 online, was here in 10 days. Have subscribed, as that's the only way I can see to say "thank you" .... other than saying "Thank you!"
G'day David, well done and thank you for making and sharing this video. I have the same issue with a small fractured rear arm shoulder and very happy I found your video to help me fix it. Happy flying, Cheers from Spike across the big lake in the Central Wheatbelt Western Australia
Spike your very welcome Spike am glad i can help, the need for this came when a drone fixer company wanted hundreds to fix, and i hate paying people lots of money lol
That was my thoughts on it exactly. Cuz the expansion issue. Cuz you’re right. That alignment is everything. Any gaps & your arm won’t fold snug ,body won’t fit right . And also ,...all cracks need sealed as good as possible ,because of water /rain .
Hi Dave. Had you considered desoldering the wires , to make it easier to make the repair and re solder the wire back to the board. Im thinking that it might be worth the extra effort ..
Great Video Dave, thanks for your efforts. I have just been quoted £200 to replace the bottom case which is ridiculous, would you recommend any particular company in China for the replacement parts?
I got a Mavic for Xmas I've already had it fly off due to loss of GPS, luckily managed to fly back using video but had to fight it all the way. Now thinking I should have signed up for the insurance! hope you get the gimbal sorted.
Hi yes its all just waiting on the gimbal circuit board, ive had it flying and no probs just its blind but i have the GPS map which is good practice should the same happen as you had, i have also lost video feed from my inspire 1 and just used the map to fly home
Hello, David! My Mavic is with an error 1112. I can't activate it to fly. Suport DJi said he can't activate it because they reported it as a transport robbery, I was tricked by a salesman, I lost my money. Do you think if I change the logic board this problem can be solved? Thank you!
macgregoroi why can’t you glue yours? Yes $30 is cheap for one but gluing both costs less than a $ and to change them means you need to disconnect and reconnect them which is more tricky.
And the rotating component was also messed up from the crash and it wasn't completely stable. I didn't see this at fist but taking it apart did exacerbate the issue. So why not just get one good as new.
Thanks Dave, really good tutorial. Just wondering if you can share the chines sites you bought the DJI covers from cheaply. I need front and rear arm. Was hoping I could pick them up cheaply

No as i pointed out in the followup video this is a temporary fix until a replacement can be done it did hold for a long time but you must remember your flying something that's not fully airworthy but if your on sit and a job must be done it is safe to fly
@@dmgladden didn't see follow up video but i thought that it would only be a temp fix though. Have since now ordered a new arm from amazon that has the shoulder part for 35 euro.cheers.
Ok. I did mine today. I used regular super glue . But I was going to use gorilla glue (but it takes water to make it react ) so I changed my mind on using it because of that . So good. Ty. You did a great tutorial here. Better than the others I saw. Cuz they didn’t get to the point ,or as fast , like you did with this very common problem and fix ,so , Thanx .
thank you, yes i also used regular super glue, Gorilla glue expands a bit like a filler so it wouldn't have done as good a job, i use mine often and i have had no problems with it at all

Great Video Dave, thanks for your efforts. I have just been quoted £200 to replace the bottom case which is ridiculous, would you recommend any particular company in China for the replacement parts?
No not really just seach ebay you will find lots just look for ones that say original dji product
Hiya my arm has come loose like I can spin it round how would you repair that?
Sounds like something inside has broken I would open it and have a look you may need a new shoulder

To be honest i have never come accross such issues and as im not an dji engineer i can't think of what it could be sorry
Can you send me a link where can a buy?
Thank you for u help David
Awesome! Thank you so much for sharing this!
macgregoroi your welcome, glad to be of some help
I cant glue mine but now I know how to replace the part, Its one $30 for a new one.
macgregoroi why can’t you glue yours? Yes $30 is cheap for one but gluing both costs less than a $ and to change them means you need to disconnect and reconnect them which is more tricky.
Because of the way it snapped. There was just very little area to apply glue.
And the rotating component was also messed up from the crash and it wasn't completely stable. I didn't see this at fist but taking it apart did exacerbate the issue. So why not just get one good as new.

Is it still going strong? ie not broken again?
No as i pointed out in the followup video this is a temporary fix until a replacement can be done it did hold for a long time but you must remember your flying something that's not fully airworthy but if your on sit and a job must be done it is safe to fly

What kind of glue was used?
Just a good superglue
What did you use to glue? Thank you
iGofly Hi, just standard supperglue, thats why i stripped it down so much to ensure it didn't go anywhere i didn't want it too
Is it still holding ? Lol
Chauncy Web yes its still perfect
