Fin Smith’s pass selection and timing of the pass on the line is truly world class, he picks the right pass nearly every time if only Borthwick gave him more of a chance with England, Sleightholme too, that lad is brilliant how Daly got in over him I’ll never know and I’m liking the look of Freeman at 13 too, Saints really do have an abundance of talent
Was going to say the same thing - Fin’s selection and timing are already world-class and he’s still so young. Marcus will probably have to continue to be a super sub for England.
@@dgoodall to be fair I don’t mind who starts as long as they’re both in the 23 and Ford isn’t there, they both offer something different that can greatly improve the England squad and they’re both light years ahead of Ford
Saints firing on all cylinders! Fin Smith is looking more like the future England 10 every time he plays and Sleightholme is looking like the real deal too nowadays.

@@jj9749 Marcus is great too, I think Fin Smith suits England better, though. He's classy, quick and skillful but knows when to keep things simple.
Sleighthole and Feyi-Waboso would be a very decent England pairing this summer vs the All Blacks. The amount of defenders beaten and post contact metres would be insane.
Saints continue to impress. Sleightholme, Freeman and Smith are looking particularly ncredible.
All three have to be on the England Tour this Summer.

When saints played against the Stormers last year they were leathal in their finishing and they no different today. Very well coached team.
On behalf of European Rugby. Thank you Northampton Saints for putting these SAFFA jokers to the sword. Just 7,500 of their supporters could be arsed to turn up last week for their home game, and now they send a Z team to England for a huge quarter final game. Kick them out of the competition for good and let them play in their beloved Currie Cup in front of empty stadiums in Johannesburg and Bloemfontein.

The Bulls had to play a C team last week at the same time as schools rugby so it’s little surprise people didn’t show up. But this comment just smells like grievance and bitterness. Rugby brings us together. If you want to use sport to be divisive go watch football.

It's so strange to concede . They would have been facing Leinster at the semi-finals if they had no fear of competition and got the result . But in the URC, they are also challenging Leinster for the title, amongst others. They didn't like what was coming, and Northampton dug the sword in . They just have put huge pressure on themselves now for the URC.

Why did bulls play their B team?
URC is more important to South Africans at this stage. Not used to these competitions yet and all Finals have to be played outside of SA. But, give it some time and now that more money is coming into SA rugby vis overseas investors, SA teams should be able to keep more of their players.

and employed the suitable tactics and training. I bet that at least four of these Bulls players who did not tackle yesterday will not have their contracts renewed. The SA franchises will strengthen over the next year or two let us judge then.

Problem right now for all teams is the compressed schedule between URC and EPCR.
Add to that the fact that SA teams are funding their own travel, a 25 hour multi-stop flight on economy takes its toll on someone as large as a SA rugby player so 'player management' has an additional edge to it. This is only for the next year or so until SA become full members of the competition so the argument, if you can call it that, is only current and will ease off in the future.
It's also not a SA specific issue. Lyons did it last week, Leinster did it last year in the URC.....
I'm impressed by the Sharks run lately.......Fielding almost a 90% black players team. Irrespective of anyone's politics this is good for SA Rugby future and very bad for international opponents. I'm convinced a SA Black Invitational team like the Leopards(1970's) will humiliate a NZ Maori team

As a Saints one-eyed Saints fan, even I don't think we'll cause an upset. If the game was at Franklin's Gardens, then it would be a much closer match. Crowe Park with 80,000 Irish fans is a very tall order, we'll make it difficult for them though. Every game we win in Europe is a bonus as our main target is the Premiership this year, but unlike the Bulls we'll go to Dublin with a full team and show the competition the respect it deserves.
