It warms my heart but also depresses me that Nero's first instinct upon seeing a hooded homeless looking dude was to invite him in and offer him some food and he ended up getting his arm cut off for it.
The fact that Nero is super serious and Vergil straight up goes on a logic that, If I beat Nero than I beat you, only remarks that vergil is just enjoying his fight and not blinded by Power like before
Kind of wish that when Dante mocks him for losing even after cutting off Nero’s arm for power, Vergil responds to it. Something like: “And who’s the idiot that got smacked away like fly?”
Yeah I think Vergil after seeing the display of power Nero showed when he stopped both of them from charging at each other he kind of wanted to have a bit of fun and test his son’s skills He was probably hiding the fact that he was extremely impressed with Nero
Vergil had to learn to appreciate the power he already had by losing it and having to fight his own trauma(s). You could say his story is quite *motivational* .
It's because Nero is insecure about his strength due to not being able to save Credo, losing Yamato after Dante entrusted it to him, etc. He feels responsible for all this in a way and hearing Dante call him 'dead weight' just adds insult to injury
Nero looks up to dante as a mentor and a role model; Nero is desperate to prove himself to dante and dante turns around and calls him deadweight. The man Nero looks up to almost as much, if not more than credo basically called him useless. You don't think that shit don't stick? To an average onlooker it just seems like an out of place tantrum, but look at it from nero's perspective and you can see his justification.
@@akaru9532 Still an immature response.Dante said a mean thing in the middle of a damn fight(which wasn't even that mean;Dante said it to show Nero that he couldn't help, not to actually insult him) and Nero carries a damn chip on his shoulder for an entire MONTH????With monsters all around killing people,THAT'S all he cares about???
splitting his human and demon sides made him realize that throughout his journey for power he did many wrong things especially urizen so thats why he wanted to stop his demon side
they did him a huge favor with that,it made his character way better.before he was unlikable and very much just a text book villain, nothing special about him.the V character made Vergil's character better.
After returning to himself you can kind of tell Vergil doesn’t want to fight Dante anymore, at least not fight to the death. Dante wanted to kill him so much because he thought he was still power corrupt and thought that’s the way he is always going to be.
What? I have a son? This is wonderful, I must tell everyone! Hey Dante, I have a son! Human woman and fake mom, I have a son! Mundis: You are all my children. Me: SHUT UP MUNDIS, IT'S NOT ALWAYS ABOUT YOU!!!
“If I beat Nero... then by default, I beat you. Agreed, Dante?” This line definitely sets that bar. Nero already grabbed his attention when he stopped the both of them from colliding into each other, which alone is no easy task. [This is the equivalent of someone trying to keep 2 trains from crashing to each other.] This line also solidifies the fact that he sees Nero with equal worth to that of Dante.
@@FOREEAL Nero didn't stop them, both of them were surprised and tried to slow down on their own. Nero isn't that powerful to stop two beasts charging at each other with full strength. If they hadn't slowed down on their own then Nero could have turned into a pancake after that collission. You guys remember Dante and Vergil can react to bullets and deflect them easily then how come they couldn't notice Nero coming right between them.
Vergil wanted to protect his mother, but he failed. It's just so beautiful that this time, his son - Nero, wanted to save both of them so eagerly, and finally awakened his full demonic power, saving his dad and uncle. I was getting goosebumps when I heard Nero saying "I'M NOT LETTING YOU DIE!!"
Vergil looks really happy this time round. The way he spoke to Dante at the end of the game. He is obviously pleased he has a son who's as strong as himself, reunited with his brother and found a new devil trigger form. He walks out as the winner in this story haha.
@@shubhanshusingh4839 I think it was more of a combination of Vergil being weakened from his fight with Dante and reluctance to go all out on his own son rather than just giving Nero the win.
cheatsykoopa98 well after this game he was kind of “purified” by splitting and rejoining. He learned the value of what he thought made him weak, human flesh and feelings, through V and he broke free of Mundus’s corruption by splitting and leaving V crumbling. The familiars were his nightmares and memories as Nelo Angelo and they let Dante kill them instead of going back into him with V. On top of that he got the powers Urizen gained.
It's one of Dante's aspects that doesn't get enough recognition I think - he absolutely CANNOT handle kids. In the anime, he's dismissive of Patty, in 5 he pulls the cord from the telephone, and as for Nero, instead of calmly explaining things to him, he calls him deadweight, he tells him "you don't understand" after the Faust scene which only frustrates Nero, and in the scene you mentioned it gets to the absolute boiling point - Dante can't handle Nero, and Nero can't handle Dante's dismissiveness anymore. 5 is full of moments like that that just don't get the recognition they deserve
24:26 might actually be my favourite Vergil quote. From someone who's known to be cold, methodical, and fairly straightforward in his approach to things, and although he's had his fair share of sarcastic undertones in previous games, this one just came off as a lot more playful to me, like the character development V endured throughout the game has actually impacted Vergil. He's a fantastic villain, no doubt, but if we get a relatively good-guy-Vergil in the next game, I'd lose it haha
@@TheCyclicGamer It's clear what he meant, but using "stay" instead of "get" is what any normal person would do. I'm not sure what the translators were thinking there.
That scene + Dante's line implies that he knew Nero would try to stop him, so he said "get outta my way, Nero" before he even attempted to stop Dante. Seriously, it's amazing how many people failed to notice this, lmao.
Pretty much. I knew it was Vergil from the beginning and boy was I excited. Beat the game and patiently waited for him to be announced as playable but was...disappointed.
The fighting was fine. He didn't want them killing each other. The fighting in Hell was just to pass the time lol you can see them both enjoying it. They're devils after all. Far be it for them to like, play poker.
Here's some trivia for you: "Urizen" the name that Vergil adopts after separating Man from Devil, is taken from "The Book of Urizen" a book by William Blake, Vergil's favorite author. The book takes its name from the character Urizen in Blake's mythology, who represents alienated reason as the source of oppression. The book describes Urizen as the "primeaval priest" and tells how he became separated from the other Eternals to create his own alienated and enslaving realm of religious dogma. Los and Enitharmon create a space within Urizen's fallen universe to give birth to their son Orc, the spirit of revolution and freedom. This book by the way was written in 1794. One of the names mentioned I'm sure you recognize and can see that Capcom is not the only company that drew inspiration from William Blake.
@Ewan Callister Personally I think Urizen makes more sense as the Nobody. He had no memories or humanity from his original self, but had far greater power. Meanwhile, V is the Heartless in the same way Sora was after committing sudoku - the mind, memory, and a closer form to his original self, but still incomplete in a way that could destroy him if not fully restored.
@Ewan Callister Your point makes sense. I was looking at it in the same way as Sora and Xehanort's cases, where the Heartless got the memory while the Nobody got the power. And both V and Urizen were falling apart - Urizen was just using the Qliphoth to sustain himself until the fruit was ready - so they were kinda both husks.
Unpopular opinion: God of War 4 and DMC 5 were good and i think the rools are reversed, you play more as the father in God of War and in DMC you play more as the son
You do know Vergil willingly fell into Hell and forced Dante to leave him behind right? "Leave me and go, if you don't this want to be trapped in the demon world. I'm staying. This place was our father's home."
4 роки тому+22
@@2Good2BeTrue45 looking at it through a different angle, he was kind of left behind as dante repeatedly turned down his offer to join together for their father's power. Vergil felt indebted to his mother who died by the hands of demons and his father who considered both of them as the hope of humanity.
@ Vergil always wanted all the power for himself. He merely wondered why Dante hated Sparda like he did and had that resentment and why he wouldn't be in tune to his demonic half. That wasn't an offer to save the world. Vergil never cared of the world, never truly cared about people, only his own ambition so no, what you said was a massive nonsensical reach, so much so that its almost as if you're speakimg of a completely different franchise with different characters. Or you are only referencing that shitty rebot of DmC Devil May Cry, which that Vergil and Dante was NOT those characters at all, not even close
@@Waternar there are so many reaches and nonsensical conclusions that you came up with, it literally hurt my brain to read all of that lol If Vergil was so keen to share power, then the final fight wouldn't have happened. He would have not demanded to take the amulet from Dante and be willing to kill him to get it. He would not have fought Dante 3 times, each time willing to destroy Dante in order to break the seal Sparda created. When he says to Dante "why do you refuse to gain power? The power of our father Sparda?" Its because he is curious as to why he Dante isn't going after power himself, that he would deny his potential. Dante isn't fighting to gain power, he wasn't the one to raise temen ni gru and be willing to upend the world for power that is his birthright, the same as Vergil's and he barely trains. Instead he is doing demon slaying mercenary work/odd jobs (he hasn't opened Devil May Cry yet and become his own boss and that point in the story, Vergil and Dante met a year prior before the events of DMC3 when Nell Goldstein was still alive, fixing his equipment) listening to music, eating pizza and strawberry sundaes and slacking off. They are brothers after all, Vergil wonders how someone of his bloodline and power could be so over the top and against his own destiny. He even makes a remark to Arkham that while Dante may hold the amulet Eve gave to them as a gift from Sparda, that Dante has no idea of its true power. Vergil sees Dante as a slacker and bit of a clown. Vergil lectures Dante on the philosophy of power after defeating him because he is condemning his lifestyle and making a judgement, saying he is foolish to live his life this way and that by not going after power like he is, he can never hope to defeat him or protect anyone else he cares about and that he will die as well. Has nothing to do with that fan ficition massive reach you tried to imply. Lastly, Vergil knows that Dante wants to save him, but he clearly points a DAMN SWORD AT HIS THROAT TO STOP HIM! He even cuts Dante's hand again as he is falling as he knows Dante will follow him into the depths and he doesn't want that AT ALL. That hand slash is also the equivalent of a goodbye in Vergil's own way, as he did it prior in his and Dante's first fight in the rain atop Temen Ni Gru. In each situation, Vergil willingly keeps himself in solitude and goes his own path. He wanted to reside in the demon world as Sparda did, to be close to the memory of his father. He wanted to fight Mundus, ON HIS OWN, to prove he was just as good if not better than Sparda as he was chasing the shadow of his father his whole life. The only difference that changed in 5 is that he didn't ultimately mind to be accompanied by Dante to keep the portal closed and that they had to settle their score at the same time, best place to do that would be in the demon world. They kill two birds with one stone.
Vergil: “I won’t lose next time.” **Looks at V book and then chucks it over to Nero** “Hold onto that until then.” Translation: “Here, son. My only gift to you...for now.”
Unmoth If you read the document in the game The Old Man's Diary, he says a young boy would come over and read his collection of poems, especially William Blake poems. He gave him a Blake Anthology as a gift and the boy wrote his name on the book (Vergil) with an expression of delight. So the man wondered why he was so quick to write his name in it and he said that he and his twin fight over things often so he has to put his name on everything to make them “truly his”. The rest is really more wholesome Vergil and shows you how Mundus really messed him up. The funny thing is you would think V is chanting from some magic book to boost his power but it’s just Vergil’s favorite book of Blake poetry from his childhood giving him strength.
The most badass "turn around" scene ever. Just a few seconds, so subtile and i could watch it endlessly. It does not get better than this. And it doesnt even have a crazy soundtrack. Unlike every other vilain, Vergil does not need Boss music, he IS the boss music!
Also, Vergil did not cut off his son's arm. That was never Nero's Arm to begin with. That has always been Vergil's Yamato. Vergil just took his Blade back.
Ashura wrong it was Neros arm silly lol he just hid the Yamato in it. Vergil could've got the sword back without cutting his dam arm off but at the time he was really weak nd was Super Savage af so he didn't care lol
They made vergil have more emotion and personality in this one. You can see it as soon as he smiles and goes hmmm which made me freak out for some reason
24:47 The way vergil smiles proves that all of us DMC fans have grown to love and respect him even more than in DMC 3. Makes this game totally worth getting.
I love this Vergil, back in dmc3 he seemed so obsessed with getting his old man's power, because of his traumatizing childhood he's been on a hunt for power ever since, in dmc5 by separating his humanity from the devil he finally able to realise what he was missing in the past and you can really feel his character development over the years, capcom's done an amazing job!
And now, he's in hell along with the closest person he has to call family and the only one over the years he can call his equal. With nothing else to do, they spend the rest of their time beating the crap out of each other and other demons. All while escaping child support.
ShinIzTru As is Dante referencing the bathroom in his business (no doubt those toilets needed flushing). The cut Nero put on Urizen’s hand while he was sitting on the throne is a callback to Vergil cutting Dante’s hand when Dante tried to save him from falling into the Underworld. Etc.... Tons of callbacks.
"How many times have we fought" - Vergil "Hard to say. It's the only memory I have of us since we were kids." - Dante Pretty accurate. On DMC 1, when Dante realized Nelo Angelo was Vergil, the first memory that came up was when they were fighting/arguing over who gets the chocolate cake lol
"You cut off your own son's arm for power, and you still lost." That, to me, just made me see that even if Vergil is this cool badass, he's a goddamn idiot.
@@Mudoh415 If you are talking about when Vergil ripped his arm off, it was kinda a cheap shot. Plus his arm just kinda came off on its own. probably because he had absorbed the Yamato into it so it detached from his body to return to it's owner. Just think of all the punishment his arm takes in DMC4, he even punches out The Saviour with it.
I have never heard such inflection in Vergil's voice before outside of the end cutscenes in this game. When he and Dante are approaching the Qlipoth in the underworld, the way he says "Maybe..." makes me so happy. It's like he's not afraid to show a hint of emotion anymore. In just that one word, we hear a coy, sly, playful tone. That's... so awesome to hear from Vergil!
The moment Virgil reveal his true human form...... I freaked out. The moment he spoke his voice....I Screamed.....for a dude I’m SOOOO GLAD THEY DINT CHANGE HIS VOICE ACTOR
The voice actor Dan southworth had been hinting dmc 5 in his UA-cam interviews since last year. So he is in it. We all love vergil's voice actor and motion capture.
Capcom is doing the exact opposite of what Lucasfilm and other companies are doing here: giving us what we want. RE2 and now DMC V, they're on a roll already this year.
@@Lu1zF3l1pe”heavy chain that does freeze my bones around” vergil says this as he sticks the Yamato deeper into his stomach splitting into 2 beings shortly after.
God I finally got around to checking the poem quoted by Virgil when he impales himself. It's from a poem called Earth's Answer. It is part of a larger story but essentially the Earth is answering a bards call stating that in order for the bard to rise up from her helpless state she needs love. This very much mirroring Vergil but he ironically only quotes this in reference to casting off his humanity. If he were to take it's more deeper meaning he would understand what makes Dante so powerful. His ability to love.
it feels like at the end of this, he's realizing the meaning of the rest of the tale. Especially since at the top of the tree, he takes the time to muse about what Dante told Urizen. About how their mother died trying to look for and save Vergil, it was just that she had reached Dante first, and secured him (like a responsible adult should) and then after that, looked for his brother. It wasnt that he was abandoned, nor that she loved Dante more than him, but a mere quirk of fate, a matter of luck. Dante was the first to be found. So he muses, "what if I was the first to be found?" And he begins to realize that maybe his reasons for seeking power have been flawed, his reasons for wanting so badly to defeat Dante, are incorrect. And at the very end of this, when they're in the demon world, he's...relaxed. The Truth has set him free, he's beginning to understand what he'd failed to grasp for so long. not to mention, he now knows not only does he have a son, but his son is a half-breed (quarter?) like him, and yet gained power to _match_ his and Dante's in far less time. He has a legacy, and that legacy has what Vergil doesnt (yet). he has something to be proud of, something to live for, beyond revenge against his brother, a desire of vengeance that he now knows was misplaced. he doesnt have to be the Anti-Dante anymore, he can relax, chill out, enjoy himself and their 'game'. I'd like for there to be a dlc story that features playable Vergil. one that gives a little detail further of how he returned to earth (post-game mission screens show him hanging in the Van with the others), and maybe about adjusting to new life. Honestly, i can see post-DMC5 Vergil opening an orphanage of sorts, one specifically for children misplaced due to demon attacks. A sort of penance, for what he's done. And to give them the kind of chance at recovery that he never got. he's very practical, pragmatic. That's the sort of thing i could see him doing.
@Templar Knight the thing about that tho is how would Nero ever be stronger than those 2? Dante and vergil are perfectly balanced of being half human and half demon. While nero is more human than demon. So idk why ppl say nero could get stronger.
@Templar Knight yes I've heard that too but still its unevenly balanced. Dante and vergil are balanced and their powers should be stronger than Nero's even if he is more human. Idk we'll see how strong nero will get
Vergil is a lovable villain, you don't get those much, he's so docile but deadly at the same time. Has his reason, but never gives up. He's such a cool villian and his look is also unique. Almost a polar opposite of Dante besides loving to fight and I love when the actually team up and get competitive
when you find out that Nero is actually Vergils son, and by rights, Dante's Nephew, it makes their convosations so much more meaningful. Dante isnt calling Nero Dead weight simply because Nero is weak, he's saying it to try and keep him safe. such care, but beautifully hidden.
I'm already guessing Nero is Vergil son in DMC4 back then ... Ma friends tell he's not but I always think he is .. Yup and now it's officially confirmed
I'd imagine the DMC office would be more organized and actually have water & electricity if Vergil was running the place. Oh, probably less pizza and more caviar.
Kenji Hirata It’d be interesting if Virgil and Dante had switched places but kept their same personalities. Dante the carefree bloodknight searching for more power and Virgil the dutiful, calculated protector of humanity.
Having the sons of sparda actually spar in a friendly manner is one of the best things that could ever happen to this franchise. You can feel that both of them are Okay and satisfied
"I won't let you kill each other." Nero, Nero, it's been 5 games and yet they still haven't succeeded in doing that. It's impossible for them to beat the other. 😂😂
@@PainForYou yeah cool. I think even the level headed Dante already admits that the only way to end their conflict is for one of them to die. There's no turning back for either of them. Simple enough, no really has to die. It's just their instinct when they see each other
I love how much context we are given in the manga. During the events of DMC 3, Vergil can be seen taking every advantage he got and would attempt to kill Dante even if he was incapacitated/weakened but now Vergil wished to be on equal grounds. Now Vergil wants to fight for sake of sparring Dante much like their childhood days, its a joy hes now embraced since their ruined childhood. So when they both unleashed their Sin Devil form, it wasn’t to an attempt on one another’s lives, it was just to see who was stronger again. I’m sure Dante realised that too when exchanging blows When Nero stepped in, Vergil asked ‘What form of power is this’ not because he was still deathly obsessed with power and wanted more but because of the nature of how Nero got his power. Vergil awoken when he was nearly murdered by the demon attack when he was a child and Dante’s was awoken by Rebellion being stabbed into him. Therefore Nero’s was a weird one, awakening to it without being in danger or activated by a demonic relic. Going back to the nature of the brother’s fighting in the form of a friendly spar, Vergil would laugh due to Nero assuming that Vergil and Dante was attempting to kill one another again. Not because ‘haha’ your reason is dumb
Virgil got his from nearly dying you could argue the same for dante being beaten handedly by his brother Nero had awoken his not by death (not originally anyway unless you want to count this as his sin DT) dante and Virgil used there blades as catalyst while I believe Nero was absorbing the demon energy from the arms that Nico made for him and by hearing Kyrie say that she trusts Nero and he always makes the right decision was the final push Kyrie being his catalyst like rebellion/Yamato and the sword sparda was for dante/virgil
Only Dan Southworth can say "Dante" like he does, just iconic and badass! It's been 14 years since we last saw him (DMC4 not included) and i missed Vergil dearly!! My favorite DMC character
It'd be interesting if they could still separate in the next game. Even if just for off screen plot and unlocked post game? Trish: Wait, what that you in that-- "Clearly not Vergil... *But the unknown poet of dark arts* " T: (sarcastic) Thanks for the assistance... V: Just passing by
Next DMC will probably be Nero saying to himself: If the Yamato can separate man from devil and Dante absorbed the rebellion, then what about my... Engine looking sword.
Well, it COULD be possible given that Angus, someone who had became a Demon at some point, created the Red Queen whilst Nero modified it for his own use. But then we have to consider how Nero lost the original red queen in the DMC 4 Manga where it got melted during the final battle with the Savior (can't remember the full facts there, if I messed up plz let me know) and then got a new version made for him. Also, its been shown to hold out against Rebellion along with the best of weapons like it WERE a Devil Arm. So I think that Red Queen MIGHT have some special ability, but its also highly unlikely. Ur post interested me as a DMC Fan so I wanted to give my thought :)
12:10 is just about the coolest Vergil scene I know, probably next to DMC3SE Vergil opening. Just highlights the description of Yamato cutting through "anything, even the fabric of space".
The detail in eyes in games has really become absolutely stunning in the last 4 years. The early 2010s the models began looking great and face motions but the eyes would occasionally be kinda doll like. Now it's unreal.
@@mza5949 I think the blue had its place, because if you look at his alt appearance, he wears something more similar to his dmc3 outfit. I think they both look great though.
Dante and Vergil portray brotherhood siblings so perfectly. We fight each other often but once we're make things up together, we can be a perfect match and rival at the same time

I love how vergil is more human now. You can literally hear him with his last fight with dante being less serious.
V experiencing the full human emotion range must have impacted Vergil more than his full devil side. ^.^
splitting his human and demon sides made him realize that throughout his journey for power he did many wrong things especially urizen so thats why he wanted to stop his demon side
they did him a huge favor with that,it made his character way better.before he was unlikable and very much just a text book villain, nothing special about him.the V character made Vergil's character better.
Jori ya V definitely fleshed out vergil as a character and i loved that
After returning to himself you can kind of tell Vergil doesn’t want to fight Dante anymore, at least not fight to the death. Dante wanted to kill him so much because he thought he was still power corrupt and thought that’s the way he is always going to be.
You can almost taste how proud Vergil is of Nero's strength.
What? I have a son? This is wonderful, I must tell everyone! Hey Dante, I have a son! Human woman and fake mom, I have a son!

This line definitely sets that bar. Nero already grabbed his attention when he stopped the both of them from colliding into each other, which alone is no easy task.
[This is the equivalent of someone trying to keep 2 trains from crashing to each other.]
This line also solidifies the fact that he sees Nero with equal worth to that of Dante.
@@universemaster100 nah. Plot armor dictates Nero had the upper hand.
Vergil, the one guy who can unleash thousands of demons on two separate cities and get a good ending.

I love how they don't even let eachother finish their sentences, it's a cool detail.

Here's some trivia for you:
"Urizen" the name that Vergil adopts after separating Man from Devil, is taken from "The Book of Urizen" a book by William Blake, Vergil's favorite author.

"Leave me and go, if you don't this want to be trapped in the demon world. I'm staying. This place was our father's home."
@@Waternar there are so many reaches and nonsensical conclusions that you came up with, it literally hurt my brain to read all of that lol
If Vergil was so keen to share power, then the final fight wouldn't have happened.

@@Daboy804 what is the book?

Virgil tried that and he conceived Nero.
@Templar Knight the thing about that tho is how would Nero ever be stronger than those 2?

Not quite. They both needed to be shirtless 😍🤤
"Thank you, Nero"

happy fathers day..............someday
The funny thing is that he had no idea Nero is was his son until later when Dante told him.

@@xeroxolly Bro IS was nice mistake XD!
@@choicespecialist9413 on a related note he might actually win Father's day by that I mean the opposite category Father's day worst father
when you find out that Nero is actually Vergils son, and by rights, Dante's Nephew, it makes their convosations so much more meaningful. Dante isnt calling Nero Dead weight simply because Nero is weak, he's saying it to try and keep him safe. such care, but beautifully hidden.
*conversations
I'm already guessing Nero is Vergil son in DMC4 back then ...
Ma friends tell he's not but I always think he is ..
Yup and now it's officially confirmed
“Its gotta stay in the family” as dante gives nero the yamato
22:10 Dante and Vergil actually did a fistbump while hitting Nero... damn
Vergil: Thank you, Nero... for offering me dinner.
Seems his sons arm is enough to sate his hunger
No, I thanked him for holding my Yamato.
"That day , if our position were Switched.
Would our fates be different ?
Would I have your life , and you Mine ?"
The best quotes Vergil from Dmc 5
What would that have been like? Vergil having Dante's life and Dante having Vergil's life?
I'd imagine the DMC office would be more organized and actually have water & electricity if Vergil was running the place. Oh, probably less pizza and more caviar.
@@kenjihirata6834 True. :)
Kenji Hirata It’d be interesting if Virgil and Dante had switched places but kept their same personalities. Dante the carefree bloodknight searching for more power and Virgil the dutiful, calculated protector of humanity.
Well you wish granted
It’s funny how nero gets smacked by both of his uncle and father 😭😭😭
Nothing like teaching your child and nephew some discipline.
SVGLNR time for nero to man up
They were like "don't push it kid"
Nero's lucky he just got smacked. Dante and Vergil have done a lot worse to each other lol
Bruh
Having the sons of sparda actually spar in a friendly manner is one of the best things that could ever happen to this franchise. You can feel that both of them are Okay and satisfied
"Vergil and Dante will return in DMC 6" - Marvel Studios style.
ah we forgot you work with capcom you could ve say the word maybe !
Vergil + cool title "Alpha and the Omega" on the screen = Perfection
everytime i read "Alpha and the Omega" im my mind starts playing Subhuman with the "YOU CANNOT KILL ME IM OMEGA" part for some reasons
I love the absolutely genuine "Thank you, Nero."
I feel like it came for V’s last words.
3 years and I'm still moved by Nero's resolve and awakening. He awaken his own out of pure resolve and willpower
"I won't let you kill each other."
Nero, Nero, it's been 5 games and yet they still haven't succeeded in doing that. It's impossible for them to beat the other. 😂😂
🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣 100% right
As long as they want to make more money, they are not going to die( • ̀ω•́ )✧
I'm really glad they kept the same voice actor for Dante and Vergil
me too. :)
it wouldnt be devil may cry without reuben and dan returning as dante and vergil afterall
one of them is a power ranger voicing vergil i love it

@@Tumini1026 If you look at the Nero vs Vergil fight, you will see him laying on the ground the whole time. Like a cameo on DMC4
Anyone notice how at 19:39, Vergil nods at Nero's statement?
Makes sense he's always struggled with the fear of death. Having someone tell him he won't die there probably struck him on a pretty deep level.
@@PainForYou yeah cool.
I think even the level headed Dante already admits that the only way to end their conflict is for one of them to die.
There's no turning back for either of them.
Simple enough, no really has to die.
It's just their instinct when they see each other
I gotta admit, mocap can look stiff if it's used wrong but the subtlety in performance like that it creates is something.
Knew they loved each other. Just really competitive. I love that, perfect ending
Got a sasuke and naruto vide but this is a lot better
the best bit without a doubt is that little smile between the two of them when remembering the good old day's :P
oh yeah yeah ? More like Goku and Vegeta
I WANT DMC6 STARRING VERGIL AND DANTE PLZ
@@smarterthenyou001 Yeah, that is all they know but they still cherish those memories

Dante: What the hell?
Vergil: What form of power is this?
xD
obviously he had to throw in the other POWER somewhere XD
The power of dead weight
“Where did you learn how to research?! It’s super saiyan!” -Virgil
Ryan Cheung Vergil: What form of power is this?
Dante: What the hell?
Nero: Its called DT, dad. Y'know, that thing you and Dante had for the last l dunno... whole of your adult lives?
I love how much context we are given in the manga.
During the events of DMC 3, Vergil can be seen taking every advantage he got and would attempt to kill Dante even if he was incapacitated/weakened but now Vergil wished to be on equal grounds.
Now Vergil wants to fight for sake of sparring Dante much like their childhood days, its a joy hes now embraced since their ruined childhood. So when they both unleashed their Sin Devil form, it wasn’t to an attempt on one another’s lives, it was just to see who was stronger again. I’m sure Dante realised that too when exchanging blows
When Nero stepped in, Vergil asked ‘What form of power is this’ not because he was still deathly obsessed with power and wanted more but because of the nature of how Nero got his power.
"it's the only memory I have of us since we were kids"
The subtle smile they give each other
The iconic "Dantay" voice from Vergil. God how I fucking missed that. So glad they used the same actor.
I agree. There no one can play Vergil like Mr. Dan Southworth :)
Only Dan Southworth can say "Dante" like he does, just iconic and badass! It's been 14 years since we last saw him (DMC4 not included) and i missed Vergil dearly!! My favorite DMC character
Same Man! While I Liked Vergil's Voice Actor from The DMC Reboot He's Still No Match For THE Voice Of Vergil!
@@portiz6283 funny how both vergils are voiced by power rangers
The Vergil reveal scene would've been more godlike if he did the hair comb with his hands
Well at least we have Dante combing his hair with his hands as a taunt.
That was his edgy teenage years. He did that so much his hair permanently glued like that, no need for combing anymore lol
@@mia3033 Lmao those demon blood hair gel worked well then XD
The dynamic of Vergil and his split halves is a beautiful plot element
It'd be interesting if they could still separate in the next game. Even if just for off screen plot and unlocked post game?
Trish: Wait, what that you in that--
"Clearly not Vergil...
*But the unknown poet of dark arts* "
T: (sarcastic) Thanks for the assistance...
V: Just passing by
Next DMC will probably be Nero saying to himself:
If the Yamato can separate man from devil and Dante absorbed the rebellion, then what about my...
@@hunterxkiller8732 when you also fight Vergil as Nero, you can tell that the Red Queen is very durable as it can cause clashes with Vergil's Yamato.
Lmaoooo this comment funny as shit.
He turn himself into a bike for his SDT.
*And Dante will use that bike as his second bike weapon*
Hes either going to become ghost rider or become part motorcycle
Im almost certain at this point, Vergil just wants to get strong just to make Dante rely on him like some older brother trying to prove his worth.
The stronger protects the weakest. That will be their next rivalry.
It's like an unwritten law that older brothers need to be better, so that the younger ones try to surpass them.
The curse of all older brothers, trying to be “The Alpha” to prove their worth.
xRPTRxLANDx naw, kid... We are the alphas paving the way ;)
Nope, he actually saved Dante before. He is just like that. arrogant and very traditional !
This Vergil is more likable because he’s more mature
Old and wise vergil is imo just more suitable than young wise vergil

10:42 the detail on this one is amazing. Vergil looks at nero and then at dante.
The detail in eyes in games has really become absolutely stunning in the last 4 years. The early 2010s the models began looking great and face motions but the eyes would occasionally be kinda doll like. Now it's unreal.
