Review aside, you know he's a good person by the fact that he's a healer. He helps people do the fun part (DPS & tanking) and makes sure everyone's having a good time.
Real G!
relax nerd
he has gotta fix that cable management tho, it crazy
I have rarely commented on UA-cam videos, but I wanted to say this was the perfect Mac review for me. Realistic with the purchase and showed realistic things people want to do on a computer that can be built for work and play. Thank you!
Actually I’m glad you mentioned that it looks starlight to you. I got mine and noticed the same thing and thought my eyes were going bad. Great video as always.
Finally a review the viewers can relate to. Love that you did some gameplay. Bravo.
If you want to benchmark more games, enable the performance HUD that's built into the operating system. It's done via a terminal command that you can find pretty easily with a search.
I would love to see a review of an M3 14" Max and how it performs!
This man pulls up one of my favorite dungeons ever to test in...what a bro lol just wish it was testing the M3 that's the one I'm looking at most right now. (Possibly just snagging an M2 Pro it seems pretty similar but with extra port and fan)
Thank you wow is what I’ve been looking for.
This is crazy im subbed to you and used to get every camera review you ever made and then youtube hid your computer videos.. what the heck youtube i need these videos too 😂😂 .
really appreciate the deep dive on warcraft, I play this thing all the time. And it consumes way more resources/gpu then people think.
Bro it looks like a ps1 graphics
@@calumwoodward9489 yeah, it makes no sense at all. 😂😂😂
thought it was going to be other games and YES, WOW! exactly what i was trying to seee :D
This is the exact model I’ve bought, and also the first review of it! Thanks for choosing the base model m3 max lol
I loved that you showed the gaming performance live instead of just showing numbers, thanks a lot!
Thanks for the review, curious what are your thoughts on comparison with your previous M1pro?
Ordered the space black version of this but 14inch. Thanks for reviewing this one!
Exact same specs i ordered for mine ... i did get the space black color so I have a couple weeks to wait.
Thanks for having a review of the 14 core instead of the 16 core only one I’ve seen so far. Can you post geekbench scores?
This was a good video, thanks!
Can you show off Grid Legends on your M3 Mac beast?! Oh wait, that game still has yet to be released on the Mac. Nevermind! Good job Everyday Dad. Love your videos! Happy holidays.
5:15 I think the current Face ID complete system is still too “thick” to fit in the MacBook screens, maybe as they make it slimmer (the Face ID system) over time we’ll see it in Mac’s (although it could definitely fit in the iMac 🤔)
nice, this is the one I am also interested in picking up.
The silver color is so neat ❤
THIS IS THE REVIEW I’M LOOKING FOR! I’m eyeng the 30-core GPU variant, albeit only the 14-inch one. Huge thanks for the video!
I'm thinking of getting the 96 gb ram with the 14/30. What do you say
Luv this vid 😊😊
Interesting, thx for sharing
Very curious to see how Ray Tracing performs in WoW, be cool to see how performance looks like in a very demanding zone in retail, like just outside the tree in Ardenweald.
It's not supported with Macs yet. They'll need to patch it in.
Yes Dad, I am also big fan of great packaging like this
Exactly the kind of review I wanted - WoW on the latest high end MBP, thank you!
Also, which vertical monitor did you use? I have interest in getting one but I don’t sure what to choose.
It's nice to see from the review and comments that I'm not the only person playing WoW on my MacBook :)
Only issue I find with every Mac I try in World of WarCraft is that you get these weird dotted lines across the environment that definitely are not there in the windows version. Not a game breaking issue of course but they've been there for a while now and I just don't know if the developers will ever fix that
Good to see one review without the fake unboxing of the maxed out high end MBP given by Apple.
I look forward to comparisons between m1 max and m2 max MBP. Thanks
Does your M1 machine keep up for the most part? Seems the sweet spot purchase at the moment with the discount and refurbs available now.
How did you get wow to work on your MacBook? I have been unable to install WOW on mine for months now. I have tried every fix they recommend.
It has been so long since I've played WoW in any fashion. I played that game from the EARLY days when MC and then BWL were the end-game content. Where you'd have 40 person raids in those dungeons. Where you'd hope you were lucky enough to get a piece of the epic armor or weapon for your class and you were the one next up on the "who gets it" list in the guild raiding party. Oh, back then we had to walk to school barefoot through chest-deep snow, too. And we LIKED IT! LOL.
Sometime soon I’ll have mine too 🎉
@TheEverydayDad -- how do you like using the Mx Master mouse for gaming?
Can you give me some insight on the Fan Noise? Thanks!
I got the same specs as you just because you mentioned WoW classic! I also resubscribed :). Would love if you could talk about your monitor setups sometime!
It would be great to see a comparison of the 14 core vs 16 core M3 Max, I can't seen to find any!
Lookin for the same thing
I got the top end model for the m3 pro 14" not expecting to do alot of gaming on it, but I might have to fire up Lie of P to see how it runs.
I'd love to see X-Plane 12 (Flight Sim) in 4k on 3 monitors. It's a tall task because it requires a fair amount of hardware (yoke, rudder pedals, & throttle quadrant) and ideally, someone with flight sim experience. However, if you have a friend that has a flight sim setup like this and the only thing missing for this test would be your M3 Max and a few cables, it would be an easy test to set up. Although high frame rates are not super critical with typical flight sim use (30 fps is good and 60 fps is great) flight sim programs are notorious at not utilizing multiple graphics cores and putting 90% of the load on just one core. Historically, this has meant big, powerful gaming computers with lots of fans and liquid cooling; but when Apple introduced the ARM approach and M1 came out with the promise of (then) future 3 nm technology, it made me wonder if Apple might be able to tackle the problem with efficiency rather than the brute force approach of powerful, hot CPUs, GPUs, heat sinks, etc. To be able to use a single computer (MacBook) for both mobile and desktop applications, as well as business, personal & fight sim work, would be SO much more efficient to the work flow than having to have a MacBook for general computing and a dedicated PC monster for flight sim work. Not to mention not needing 2 separate work stations. It's a lot. I know. Just thought I'd throw it out there. Either way, thanks so much for the great work that you do!
how is the input lag on external monitor compared to the macbook screen?
Can you test the non classic WoW and post the results ? I know it is much more graphics demanding than the classic. Thanks
What's the fan noise on the MacBook Pro 16 like when running WoW?
I briefly tested it and mine got quite loud, although that was the 14" version.
What monitors are you using?
First time mac user here. How do you install WoW on your macbook?
Any chance I can convince you to login to retail WoW? I’m on an M1 and wondering what improvement I’d get by upgrading. I subscribed for resto shaman content!
I actually like your gaming content. Do you have a channel for that too? I'd be interested if so.
I’m glad I’m watching this
What are the M3 like for gaming?
What’s your battlenet?
Could it all have worked the same in the smaller body, the m3 max 14” mbps?
Resto shaman... a man with taste!
upgraded from a MacBook Air with 8GB of RAM to the same model, but in Black. When I was using the MacBook Air, my memory pressure was consistently around 7-8GB. Now that I've upgraded and am using the same apps, my memory pressure is at 28GB. How does this even make sense? Do you think that because I have more memory, these apps are utilizing more of it? Now I feel like I should upgrade the ram even more, but everyone I talked to said I would never use all 36GB of Ram
Can you turn off vertical sync so FPS won't be capped? A non native game like Overwatch would be interesting to see.
Can you do a test on wow with native resolution max settings with vsync off and tell me your fps in valdrakken
Thanks for the Silver!!!
Hey, its the keyboard back from the other DIY keyboard channel.
PREACH!!! I was shocked at how "small" the 16" MBP is I have the M1 it's incredible and yet so small and thin when I put in my backpack .. nuts! And the battery life and power, insane
the shure sm7 sounds a lot better than the shotgun mic that you have at your desk
can i run Battlefield 3 on this? damn confused, should i go for it, or lenovo legion 9i or asus roz strix 16
Nice review seeing the fans were quiet and was only warm with the 16 inch Max I'm having second thoughts of buying the 14 inch M3Max the only other option I can see is I can get the High End 14 inch M3Pro with 2TB for the same price as the Basic 14 inch M3Max with 1TB for the same price but if it still runs hot with loud fan noise I probably will go with the Basic 16 Inch M3 Max
14" on m3 max is probably pointless. m2 max on 14" throttled quickly from videos i have seen and m3 max is probably hotter in the same chassis. i would recommend an m3 pro 14" or m3 max 16"
Thanks your right about the 14 inch Max I'm going with the 16 inch M3 Max because of better battery life, performance, and less fan noise.
The silver looks the best.
Sounds like I'd be able to play some Warhammer 3 on this
atleast you show the actual specs..i have seen alot of youtubers with their “maxed out” model but never show the actual specs in the video
what is your keyboard?
Please turn off v-sync so we can see how many FPS we get without the monitor, and the bandwidth of the interface between device and monitor.
Knowing a device can hit the maximum refresh rate of a display taking into consideration all intermediate equipment is nice, but isn't a lot of detail.
I don't need all this speed and power but my current 17" Windows 10 laptop is over 10 years old so I'm thinking of buying this computer for it's performance and for future performance! My current computer is still fast and powerful for a 10 year old machine!
Wonder if the 14 of this same setup will run things well also
Should do just minor differences
What server you rolling for WoW Classic SoD? haha
Macbook Pro M3 16" Silver
plz try cyberpunk 2077 on the m3 max using the game porting tool
You didn’t say “A-pple”
When you opened it and it started booting lol 😂
Bioshock Infinite on Apple Silicon would be cool
I prefer console gaming and I do still think PCs are better gaming machines overall, largely because of game availability. However I also have no doubt the M series are very powerful chips. I have an M1 MacBook Air, an M1 Mac Mini, and an M1 iPad Air. I love them all but the iPad Air is just so much more powerful than any previous iPad apart from the Pros that also have M1 chips. Game changer for me. I feel like I really dont need a laptop anymore. Honestly if I had bought the iPad AIr before the MacBook Air I would not have purchased a MacBook Air. If they update the iPad Air to have the M3 chip I would probably trade in my MacBook Air and IPad Air to get one.
You sound a lot like a Blackberry user after the first iPhone was being delivered.
can I ask what game changer the m1 iPad is for you? compared to other devices.
@@harveysmith4424 The amount of power the M1 series of chips provided moved the iPad into a whole new category for me. For example I do quite a bit of video editing. The iPads have been capable of doing it for a while but now I can connect external SSD drives to the iPad Air, and use all of the footage from those drives, edit and render back to the external SSDs. Most importantly of all the software runs extremely smoothly. No hesitancy when scrolling through clips, everything is extremely responsive. It performs just as well as the laptop and desktop does while performing those same tasks. That has never been the case with previous iPads I have owned. Like I said I really dont feel like i need a laptop anymore and use mine a lot less than I used to.
@@tonyburzio4107 you couldn’t be more wrong, never owned a blackberry. I just feel like the iPads with M1 now offer the same performance as laptops and desktops. Something that was never true before.
@@davva360 that’s awesome man. I’m glad that it works for you flow. Just cool to hear other people and their experiences.
Gary, I love you as much as you love Apple.
Im gonna wait until m10 come out
There are so many GOOD games I can’t play on this. All the great ones I default to my PC.
Plz!!!! Geakbanch 6 test results!!???
It's a pretty big deal for me that you actually test out dungeons at Ultra, since I pretty much only play world of warcraft on my Mac. I actually play retail wow with my M2 Pro, and I'd like to q more mythic+ and raids on my laptop. Thinking about an m3 Max for this :D
Your m2 pro can’t run mythic + and raids well?
@@joevanalvarado2373 It ran it just fine. I'm a bit spoiled, I do use an M3 Max now, and it does a better job. The M2 Pro was just fine though.
Silver the best color
i think the Macbook Pro trackpad should be compatible with Apple Pencil. for little doodling or signing documents.
5:00 - I disagree, as the M2 chip brought us the M2 Pro Mac Mini. quite a machine!
Have you tried gaming while on battery? Playing Baldurs Gate 3 chewed through the battery in less than 2 hours on my 16" MacBook pro M3. Is that normal?
What about battlefield 3?
I get the dock issue but really we looking for worse case.
I am not a heavy gamer. I like word games, puzzle games and card games like solitaire. That's about it for gaming
Please compare it with m1 max 🙏
Can you trying it on call of duty. From what I know it one of the heaviest games out there, so it should be a good case study for the whole over all use.
What about battlefield 3?
Expecting WoW Classic to run on that machine is like asking if your phone's calculator can solve 5*5
Why don't show how well retail runs in the newest zone? My MacBook Air M2 runs Classic on the highest settings at 75FPS.
I’m so glad u cheeked gaming now I can’t believe it’s beginning to become a reality to game on the mac and it’s such a good hardware efficient too
Should’ve played on the Mac screen tho not like docked like that
If the M1 Max has been running everything perfectly (as you said)
Why you upgrade to M3 Max ??
Game mode is cool, the lack of games is trash unfortunately.
Ah another Clique enjoyer
Can I play Mortal Kombat 1 on Mac
I never played WOW even though I’m kind of that age, but I play a lot of lies of p these days, so wondering if M3 families handle it better 😂
Edit. Ayy you actually covered the game! I made this comment before got to that part 🤣 I don’t want to upgrade my gear this soon, but it seems like future upgrade will be great for me.
Gotta play modern wow
where r benchmarks?
space black just hides the apple logo , better is the space grey or even silver colour
Loved everything about this video, dude is really fun, but the warcraft moment i was smh... Really that its impressive for a really expensive computer to run warcraft and discord at the same time?...
