I know what you mean! The Moody Blues were another who were appreciated on the Continent more than their native UK! Loads of great video from those countries.
Roy Wood is the enigma of rock n' roll history, why that guy isn't as big as he should be is a mystery to me, he is an absolute songwriting genius. He should've stayed in ELO for a few more records, they would've dominated the 70s. Fu*k*ng Don Arden.
About a month ago I commented that I have loved the song from day I got such abusive reply that said hope I'm not English I'm dumb I'm a pronoun stupid new words etc etc I replied stick ur stupid words up ur crack I'm English born and bred all I said I liked a song lol xx

Indeed! ....and the band sadly went downhill after he was forced out , due to some LSD induced problems . Kefford was a shining st⭐r that burnt out too fast .
I've always thought it was Roy Wood doing the chorus part never realized till seeing this it was Ace Kefford really glad I came here, and no matter which one of them was singing it, still a classic song :)
One of my all-time favorite groups (in it's original incarnation)! Thank you for posting this rarity! Now, it's time to once again put SHAZAM on the ol' turntable!

I never noticed at the time that Carl Wayne was stuck in the groove of repeating a single move he must have admired from Jagger's routine ...with that voice he can be forgiven :-)
The original Move - great band from Birmingham, saw them at the Plaza in Handsworth twice, first time was when Night of Fear had just been released. Often saw Chris and Trevor at local clubs and pubs where they'd gone to see other local bands.

A band where everybody was more charismatic/better looking than the lead singer. He was alright in Crossroads but as teen idol front man, no chance.Pity.Great who would surely have been bigger
Something tells me the dancing girls weren't quite part of the image the band/Secunda was trying to achieve at this important stage (the beginning) of their career.

Thank god for european tv channels keeping classic music like this unlike the "erase everything" bbc!
I know what you mean! The Moody Blues were another who were appreciated on the Continent more than their native UK! Loads of great video from those countries.
Well, they did have a top-heavy Management structure who needed to be kept in the manner to which they were accustomed.
I have always adored this brilliant, enigmatic song - written by band member, the beautiful and talented Roy Wood
roy is a legend
Shame he wasn’t fronting, can’t stand Carl Wayne.

I was fortunate to see this line up live when they toured with Jimi Hendrix in the Autumn of 1967. A very polished live band.
...I envy you. Such a famous package tour.
They toured a lot with Pink Floyd too.

Would be terribly interested to hear your memories of that Move performance, and ANY memories about Syd playing with PFloyd please!

Ace Kefford was the coolest guy in that band and also had the best voice.
Indeed! ....and the band sadly went downhill after he was forced out , due to some LSD induced problems . Kefford was a shining st⭐r that burnt out too fast .
@Stefan Hoock Indeed, Ace Kefford is hands down the coolest of them all. Also great drumming by Bev Bevan.
I love that the dancers are doing Carl’s signature move where he throws his arms in the air.
I've always thought it was Roy Wood doing the chorus part never realized till seeing this it was Ace Kefford really glad I came here, and no matter which one of them was singing it, still a classic song :)
Wow right?! About to flip our minds.
They don't make bands like this anymore, sadly...
Or go-go dancers like that!
My favourite song of all Moves songs. Catchy tune, and great bass line.

Este grupo tenía uno de los mejores directos de Inglaterra, mejor que grupos mucho más conocidos.
Junto a los Hollies

I so agree...and those girls are truly so beautiful because they are French!

Pat Clarke, I agree. Very much like Jagger. Underrated song.
I think it was a tick 🤔
It was annoying.
great band solid musicians and woodys ability to write the catchiest of songs not failing
This song was the group's debut single. It was a Number 2 hit in the UK and a Number 6 hit in Ireland in January 1967.
The original Move - great band from Birmingham, saw them at the Plaza in Handsworth twice, first time was when Night of Fear had just been released. Often saw Chris and Trevor at local clubs and pubs where they'd gone to see other local bands.
Carl Wayne is unintentionally hilarious here...pouting, gurning, twirling and throwing his arms up in the air. Funniest thing I've seen for ages.

Even funnier than his true ambitions were as a lounge/ballad singer....which he did do in the mid 70s haha
Fantastique, Les Move! Carl's fearful night seemed to involve a swarm of bees flying in front of his face.
the move, love 'em, blackberry way! flowers in the rain..and all those groovy french women...
Super aufregendes Jahr 1967 .Danke Move !
Roy hiding at the back with Bev, bit like Dave Stewart did with The Tourists
Really enjoyed that. Brilliant.
Brilliant song ... charming tv show!
With that classical quote, the roots of ELO begin here.
Roy said somewhere that Tchaikovsky is his favorite composer, ever.
The Move. Ace band!

Ace and Trev!!

Very soulful voice. Should've been a superstar
What a band
too right Ray, but thanks to the power of fizzing electrons, we are transported back. I must get some
@elodevi, This is superb. Great post thanks to my friend, Randy, off Facebook for linking this for me to see
Great song, but seems odd, to see Roy, in the background!
what a great lead vocal.Nice one Charlie!
FANBLOODYTASTIC Devi.....a rare beauty, thanks for sharing!! Thomas.
A great song I never heard before in the past.
60s Girls were so pretty
They were I was one of them look at me now lol lm now 74 at least I'm still alive x
Rare stuff again, thanks Jorge !
i 've not see 'em live in France but to England it's fabulos live gig last 68 !
brilliant stuff
I love it
Legs were longer in those days.
This is brilliant to see but just one thing, the Mick Jagger moves who stole off who ?
@walter4092
Roy's on the podium at the back next to Bev on drums.
But he's not got a moustache or beard in these early clips !
Yeah, it would've been nice to see Scott Walker's tv show, or more of Dudley Moore and Peter Cook's stuff...
great vid ajso very funny
Have seen a French one to, with Kaleidoscope -67, have the orig LP Faintly Blowing
A band where everybody was more charismatic/better looking than the lead singer. He was alright in Crossroads but as teen idol front man, no chance.Pity.Great who would surely have been bigger
Bravo!
Does anybody know the original air date of this program?
Didn't a color still of this performance end up the cover to the late 70's French reissue of "Something Else From The Move"?
Who on earth would be crazy enough to put dancers in front of the stars?
Well, the director wasn't afraid to use closeups and odd angles, now...
tres bien
Night of Fear med gruppen The Move er begyndelsen til en stor gruppe som hedder E.l.O
credit goes to tchaikovsky!!
1:25 Isn't "tete de bois" a French insult against the English: "square heads" or "wooden heads"?
Nice Cheerleaders
Something tells me the dancing girls weren't quite part of the image the band/Secunda was trying to achieve at this important stage (the beginning) of their career.
Fabulous.... but why were the airline stewardess dancing so frenetically bad in front of the MOVE ?
glenn h Friedmann This was really common in the 60s. Seen lots of footage with the dancing girls. Really distracting, but it was the fashion then.
don t see Roy Wood ?
Walter Callebaut He is there, at the back, to the left of Bev (Hiding!)
No facial fungus
Is this about having a hard time on acid?

night of fear DANCERS! not really working for me. It would be like them dancing in ALIENS, or the Exorcist.
Trying abit to hard to be Mick Jagger
But a lot better looking than mick
Cringe dancing
