  • Today we'll walk through my first look at the Mavic Enterprise Controller. We're just getting our Mavic 3E setup, and getting familiar with the controller and the drone. This will be an ongoing series from the viewpoint of someone just starting out with this drone.

Course member here! Congrats on the new purchase! I might be picking up the Thermal version later this year. I'm looking forward to seeing how you integrate & utilize the drone into your business.

I've also been interested in the thermal version. The M3E looks stellar (especially for corridors) but I've been geeking out over thermal more. Still looking at Autel options, though. Let us know if you get it and what your thoughts are!

So far there's a bit of a learning curve, but not anything horrible. The controller is easy enough to navigate, and most of the settings we're familiar with are there. A few disappointments as well, like the fact that there's very little fine tuning for the video modes. Basically 4K and 1080 30fps, mp4. We'll get it in the air soon and see how it really handles.

Ah man, GREAT STUFF! It's nice to see an in-depth look at what the interface offers. A couple things:
    1) What's the storage on the remote? Is it expandable with a micro SD? I'm curious how much screen recording and other drone video can be stored on the device.
    2) I want to throw out Dronelink as another 3rd party option. They show support for M3E and I've been happy with their mission planning and interface (both desktop and mobile).
Looking forward to your next one!

Taking the controller out of the box and using it for the first time you'll find about 43.48 GB free on the controller. I wouldn't advise removing what's pre-installed. So, you have 43 GB ready. I picked up a Micro SD card that is a 128GB card. So, plenty of room for screen recordings, etc.
Part 2 - Dronelink apparently does work with the M3E. I've actually watched a few of their videos. I can't remember their pricing, but at some point I might used them here as well.

How did you get the map on the remote controller?

I export KML file from Google Earth on to microsd card, place it in the rc pro enterprise remote, and import it into a mapping mission, waypoint etc. easy to do...

I think I'm having an odd issue with importing KMLs. I have many for different projects. I'm doing some research today on why my KMLs aren't loading. I'm sure it's something simple.

I would recommend an edit at 8:00 and 11:47 minute mark, you're doxxing yourself. I realize most people view UA-cam on their phone or tablets and can't see the detail, but a number of people such as myself view it on a big monitor or their TV. Too many weirdos anymore. Thanks for the video overall, very informative.

Thanks for the heads up. Usually I catch it all when editing but I missed those spots. Fixing now. Glad you enjoyed the video

Thanks for the great video. What cloud service would you recommend for sharing orthomosaics, waypoint photos and 3D models with clients? I was leaning towards flighthub 2 but they have no comparison or timeline features.

I actually use my own final delivery system with custom web presentations for the client. I use Drop Box to store a lot of the data, and then embed the videos and still images. For presentations with 3D models I use Sketchfab, and embed the link into the custom page. I'll be watching Flighthub 2 in order to see the final version from DJI.
