G’day Tim. Love the relaxed ‘no fuss’ videos you make. Another tip re washing out dirt from doors. Run the hose in the chassis rails (find an access hole) to flush out the rails. Dust becomes mud like inside the doors and rusts the rails from the inside out. Especially good to do if you’ve been on the beach. Hope you can get out and about soon once we’re out of this lockdown #6.
G'day Kenny, Thats a great extra tip mate getting the hose into the chassis rails. They can get clogged up for sure. I got out last week and two new solo camping videos coming in the next few weeks. Thanks mate for your feedback on my videos, i greatly appreciate it. Cheers Tim

Thanks Tim, I am a younger fella and I have been really enjoying your videos lately. Thanks for the time and effort you put into your videos, they make days in the bush much easier! Zack
I'd add three things...1) You can get a soft hair broom (blue in colour) from Kenworth truck dealers that really speeds the process up, and it screws on a telescopic pole. Good for the fourby, the boat and the caravan. 2) Don't mistake CT18 (blue soap) for the CT20 (yellow soap) that Tim is using. The CT18 is great for the chassis and steel rims (not alloy) but never use on paint. The CT20 you can throw anywhere. 3) Look out for specials at Supercheap Auto for the Tyre Shine. I have got it for $1 a can and it washes off without leaving greasy residue. Another good vid Tim. Washing a 4X4...who would of thought.
Gday Tim, I use the same methodology as you but I use a pressure washer to rinse and get under the guards etc. I've never thought of the truck wash for those areas and I've still got some in the shed from my old trucking days. I'll give it a go next time. love your videos because they are aimed at the simple things that are all about getting out touring and camping.
G'day Paul, Yeah mate, it is a pretty simple wash on my Patrol, but it sure gets the job done. I find the CT20 wash is great in the spray bottle to get into those hard to reach spots. Thanks heaps mate for your feedback, i greatly appreciate it. Cheers Tim
There’s something therapeutic about washing your car I reckon, I love doing mine. It’s my way of relaxing at the end of the week and love to give it a tub on a Sunday arv so I can start the new week in a fresh clean car. Great stuff Tim, just remember not to wash too much horsepower off though mate 🤣😉👍
Gday mate, Yeah I’m the same mate. Get some music going and a bucket of soapy water makes for a top few hours. Lol. Increasing the horsepower mate by making the Patrol lighter with the mud coming off. Lol. Thanks for your reply. Cheers Tim.
I always have a second bucket to rinse the sponge out in. That means you’re not putting dirty gritty water back onto your car to potentially scratch the paint. So one bucket for soap suds one clean bucket to rinse off in then back into the soap suds and onto the car. Back into the rinse bucket back into the soap suds and back onto the car and repeat.
That sure is the go mate with the two buckets if you are concerned about scratches. Im not greatly worried about them. Thanks mate for your feedback. Cheers Tim

Ive been thinking someone needs to opena car wash with some sort of ramp or hoist where we can get our vehicles off the ground and clean under them. Ive got a shot back so getting down to clean under my Paj is a nightmare. As for the cloth on the swivel head thats the same as I use for under my roof racks as it makes it so much easier but does not give it a real deep clean so once a year or so I like to take the racks or at least the basket off and give it a really deep clean and wax.

The mix ratios are listed on the bottle.
Cheers Tim
Hey mate do you mix the ct wash with water in the spray bottle or is it just straight pour?
Gday mate
Yes I mix with water.
About a cap full for my spray bottle.
Hope that helps mate.
Cheers Tim

@@timbates4wdadventures PERFECT!!!
@@leannehickman4414 Hahah Lol
Hi Batesy. Is it that particular brand of truck wash you find the best or would any truck wash be the same?
G'day Ross,
They should all do the same job i would think.
Just that I've always used that CT20. CT18 gets a lot of mentions as well. So check them out mate.
Thanks for your reply.
Cheers Tim
The truck looks good, how long did the entire job take? I was confused when I saw Datsun Patrol on the bonnet?
G'day Steve,
That kind of wash would normally take a good hour to get around to it all.
That Dato badge is gold mate. Lol
Cheers Tim
Hey mate, how big is the lift? Just so I know if I’ll need a step ladder to get into my patrol 😂. 3” Dobinsons going on in a few months
G'day mate,
Thats the same height lift in my Patrol.
So, looks like you will need a step ladder mate. Lol
Thanks mate for your feedback. Haha
Cheers Tim
@@timbates4wdadventures cheers mate haha
@@HeinRothman No worries mate. Lol
Man, the clearance of that truck is massive 👍 Just for scale: how tall are you?
Haha lol
I’m 5ft 7
Cheers Tim.
You used the word ‘tall’ very loosely when asking Mr Bates 😂
@@markroycroft7725 Hahah Lol
🤣 I'm not the only one who needs a ladder 😁
Yeah, i need a step ladder for sure. Lol
Cheers Tim
I don’t use tyre shine inner guards and under car, I use WD40 bit more expensive but so much better than tyre shine
Gday Matt,
Yeah mate that would work as well.
Thanks mate for your reply
Cheers Tim
I've been using a ladder for years. 👌
Same here mate.
It's the only way i can get to those high spots.
Cheers Tim
Timbo, I reckon you have got it partly wrong. Roof first, then windows then panels and continue towards the tyres. As you said start at the top and work your way down.
G'day Stu,
I did start on the roof mate if thats what you mean.
Cheers Tim.
@@timbates4wdadventures yeah but then you did the bonnet, then on one side the windows then then the panels and repeated that on the other side. Mixing the dirty water to wash over the glass again.
When I learnt to wash cars in a car yard, procedure was roof, all glass, then the panels, finally the tyres. Liked your tips on spraying under the guards.
@@stuartcrawford1 Ahh righto mate.
That spray under the guards works well.
love ya work.. pity it doesnt become a cruiser
Hahahahah Lol
Thanks mate.

I got the same rims i hate them mud n stuff stay in there n i have issue with tyre shop wheel balancing them
@@DaveOLoughlan yeah I totally agree mate.
I got rid of them a while ago and now have alloy wheels on.
Heaps better.

My Patrol is lucky to see a hose, it gets washed when it rains...lol
Hahah Lol

Bugger, l struggle washing myself let alone my rig, saying that my rig is raptor coated.🙄🙄
G'day Greg,
Hahah Lol
Thats handy if you have a raptor coating over the panels of your 4wd.
Saves on. scratches as well.

Sounds like Tim but its not Tim... 🧢 😂
Hahah Lol
Trick video mate. Lol
Cheers Tim.
Need side steps mate won't need a ladder haha
I had rock sliders mate, i took them off when i cut a heap of weight out of the Patrol.
