    This video has been such a life saver for me. I had just lost my guitar plectrum between two keys of my Clavinova and it was stuck there. Thanks to this video I have been able to gain access to the plectrum and remount everything in few minutes. Thanks a lot!

      Guitar pick sounds so much cooler than a word that rhymes with rectum

      @gcotogno 4 роки тому +1

      @@cosmic_gate476 Yes, that's the reason why the plectrum was sitting on the piano instead of being used. Anyway, I can guarantee that the sound of my piano was not cool at all with that piece of plastic stuck between the keys...

    Thanks so much for making this video. I just managed to fix my YDP-123 Clavinova with this. The internal design is a bit different here and there, but the keyboard itself is the same. Knowing how to use a knife to replace the keys is such important information!

    great video ... changed 4 keys on our cvp107 - few different screws location but straightforward after watching this. However the keys are less heavier and make a slight clicking sound when played - assume it's because they are newer and not 'worn in' or perhaps they are made with different materials - any thoughts?

    Thanks for shhowing the details....very clear explanation....
    By the way, on my Clavinova CVP 409, it was very noisy when playing, such as "tap, tap, tap..." at each black or white keys hit. The technician just fix the white part on top (visible at 2:22 on your video) with some small cable tight all along. Apparently, it is amortiser of the metal who hit it.....it's okay, but still a bit noisy. So I wish to replace it... Could you tell me where to find/buy such soft material?

    Hi, I have one key that feels heavier than others. I’ve tried cleaning it and it still feels the same. Do you think I should replace the key? Could it be the spring?

    • @1yasin6
      @1yasin6 4 роки тому +1

      I don't think its the key if its still in place.Or isn't it correctly in place an the key is heavy because it rubs against the sides? because the heaviness is determined by the spring so this is most likely the issue. Maybe it would work if you bent it a little bit but maybe if won't work / work for long. Replacing it should do the trick.

    I tried updating the firmware on my Clavinova CVP-307M and the Clavinova got stuck during the process. I waited ten or more hours and the update never completed. When I turn on the Clavinova, all I get is a "program error" message on the screen and the Clavinova is waiting for me to provide program files. The USA website of Yamaha has version 1.80 firmware available, and the UK site of Yamaha also has a 1.60 version. Both of these versions get stuck at the same point during the process. Can anyone explain why this Clavinova CVP-307M is not completing the firmware update? The firmware version that I have been using happily since the time of purchase is 1.54. Can someone provide me with version 1.54 files?

    Great video! I replaced two (2) "D" keys following your excellent instructional video. When I reassembled the piano (P-120) I noticed about 1/8" play on them (Foreware to rearward) They play ok but I think I must have missed a slot on the underside of the keys for the Key Spring. I dread taking it all apart again. Would it be the key spring that allows this amount of front to rear play in the keys>

    I wish I'd found your video before I opened up my piano! I have a yamaha clp-585, it's 10 years old and getting a little clunky so I bought new felts and replaced them. Whilst doing that, I flipped the keyboard and some of the keys came out. Eventually I figured out that they hook in front and back and got them all back in. The only problem now is that the black keys don't seem to sit as tightly as they did before, and so they wobble and make more noise than they did before! Any ideas what I've done wrong?

    I've got two keys where the little black rubber tab on the underside has disappeared. They're probably in the mechanism somewhere, but I don't fancy trying to fish them out. I also have two black keys missing the grey plastic piece that stops sideways motion. Any ideas for how I can get those parts, or come up with a substitute? I tried some blu tack on the underside and it's better than a gap, but it gets squished very quickly.
    It's quite annoying, as I opened it up to fix some keys that hit maximum loudness and thought I might as well do some cleaning under the keys, in addition to cleaning the rubber contacts. These work great now and I've figured out how to replace all the keys properly (including those where the spring had to be popped back in) but I've just got those 2 severely dysfunctional keys and 2 wobbly ones, that I'd ideally like to resolve before getting all of the screws back in place.

    Amazing video, thank you! But the most amazing thing is that you have the same knives my family has been using here in Italy since the 50s! They were imported from the US back then ;)

    Thank you for making such a useful and detailed video! This made it straightforward to replace a broken key on my Clavinova CLP-930. I thought I would have to buy a new piano and luckily came across this video. Thanks again!

      @@Johhsa Sorry, I’m not an expert :). Which model do you have? What happened when you tried the technique in the video?

    Thank you!! This was very helpful and I was able to replace a broken key, and felt with the help from another tutorial. My CLP-840 is 20 years old and now plays like new! When I pulled my keys off there is a green, maybe silicone gel, on the underneath of all of the keys. I haven't seen this on any other tutorials do you know what this is?

    Hi
    I am having problems with 100% loud notes with P-515, then opened it and found that NWX is just GH3 with woden keys and trick cheat rubber of-circuit to make escapement fell (it is marked as GH3 inside contact board, with NWX "added" to it).
    Can you post where you get those extra keys and if that store sell some contact rubber will help too.
