It has something to do with politics. When the Dilawan Party was lording it over in the political scene, they painted a picture of impoverishment for the entire country to the whole world. Poor people, poor places, squatter areas etc, were played up to the hilt for international news... for the reason that if the country experienced calamities, lots of outsiders rush their help and aids, which went directly to the Dilawan's outstreched open arms! Remember the billions of Typhoon Yolanda fund missing til now? And things and food from foreign aid left to root in warehouses?! Thankfully presently the government is moving and acting for the good of the country and the people and showing to the world what we really got!😊

Well, I'm not surprised you used this title coz most (if not all) westerners use this title about the business districts in Metro Manila (BGC, Makati, Ortigas Center). Makes me wonder what really westerners think Metro Manila looks like. This title gives the idea of westerners couldn't believe that this country is able to have a modern West-like business/residential/leisure district. I know you mean no harm or negativity but I just want you to understand that this kind of title gives negative context and feelings, that it feels insulting in a way. I hope you understand. Anyway, enjoy your visit here. 🥂😁

Filipinos are proud of their country and hope you learn your lesson of derogatory title. but it work cause you caught my attention. good click bait.

Manila is actually the 10th most expensive property market in the world based on property price to income ratio. The rental yields in Manila are even higher than San Jose, California, Melbourne, Australia and shockingly even Vancouver or Toronto, Canada which are some of the most expensive places in the world to either live in or invest in property. This only means that properties in Manila either for sale or rent are way too expensive for the working class even moreso than wage earners living in the places I just mentioned.

Pasig River is looking like a 3-in-1 coffee right now, lol. It's also because of the rains. And it was way worse before its rehabilitation. Still has a lot of cleaning up to do but it will take decades to bring it back to how it originally was. But at atleast something's being done now. And the said rehabilitation work has even been recognized internationally.

I tried an airbnb at Acqua once before. Its all good and nice. The only difficulty is going in and out of the property. It looks close to the main roads but it’s actually not. You need to go around the property or something. You will walk a part of the E. Pantelon road (which floods during rainy season) to get to the common areas of mandaluyong like offices, Edsa and malls etc. cabs don’t normally drive by the area and getting grab on a daily basis will take a toll on the budget. But that was way back. Maybe cabs frequent the area now or something.

I agree with this as well. If you are working from home, and have all your needs delivered, then Acqua is perfect. But if you want to visit places, or do your own grocery or get to work, you will always need to book a cab. It's hardly walkable. And the neighborhood is, unfortunately, not pedestrian-friendly and quite dirty. The river also stinks at times. Rockwell looks really close to Acqua, but in reality, it's not.

Why we are getting shocking reaction or topic all the time? Philippines is a progressive country , with highly urbanized cities but, certainly not a jungle or uncivilized nation. Or maybe they are just trying to stir up viewers.

Most people concentrates in their own country, other bordering countries, or the prime countries and cities around the world. Mostly don't try or has no interest in knowing other countries and the culture. As they say, Good or Bad Publicity is still publicity and can be relevant. 😁🤙

So happy to see those infrastructures in the Philippines it's unbelievable. But still, feel sad because the poverty in the Philippines is still huge. Wealth there is not equally distributed well, because of rampant corruption everywhere. Hope and pray that every Pilipino could have a piece of economic development in the Philippines and could afford to live in that infrastructure.

A lot of Underconstructions on going in some parts of MANILA that homes with world class Hotel, condos, sports complex, entertainments and Offices. indeed, massive construction for infrastructure and modernazation for transportation still on progress, once these things completed in a few years it will add more options, conveniency for local and international visitors. and these is the reason MANILA Lagging behind its counterpart along with some world class cities like Shanghai, Dubai, Singapore, and New York. What Makes Bangkok and KL ahead a bit to Manila, is more hotel and food options ,advance and modern transportation that accessable for all. i been to these Cities and for general aspects these cities are quite similar most Certainly, MANILA and BANGKOK.
