The craftsmanship is undeniably fantastic. Very nicely and skillfully done. That being said, I can't help but point to the many different seams and connection points, every one of which being a weak point for a tool that is meant to stand up against a lot of pressure and stress. I just can't help but feel like each one of those connection points creates a weak point, and the fact that it's mostly held together with glue, just seems like it might last 1 or 2 seasons, if you're lucky. Not sure what kind of glue you're using, but this just doesnt strike me as something thats going to hold up to the regular stress, season after season. I feel like that glue is going to let go and fail under such pressure...eventually. If we add extreme temperature fluctuations, as are common for hunters to experience, I'm not sure I'd trust it as my go-to. Glue and cold don't mix very well. 🤷🏻♂️
thanks for the oppinion. I used super glue with nylon string to bond the joint. I think it also depend on the quality on the string. the one I am using hasn't dispppiont me.

Hi again just saw the video great work as usual I do have some questions 1 why the pvc outside of the fibre glass I don't think it adds much to the power of the bow but it will certainly make the limbs heavier so reduce efficiency 2 I'm really surprised it's only 40 pounds with 6mm fibre glass. My favorite bow is about 52 lbs at 31 inches (just measured it) and I made it with 4.5 mm efg. I made the tips with recurve for 27cm. It shoots quite snappy. 3 what is the total length of the bow
Thanks bro for the question. The PVC is only for making the limb less skinny. I just don't like skinny limb. the draw weight is lighter than intended because I tried to achieve the V shape of the Assyrian bow, so unlike the composite or horn bows, the limbs don't bend very much when I put the string on and thus store little energy, and also because the over all lenght of the bow is longer than the average horse bow. I used to think about making it shorter.
@@backyard.craftsman ok thx for responding, I'm an engineer so I care more about the performance of the bow than how it looks. Maybe try the green efg here in Indonesia they have a couple of different grades. The clear one that is stronger but much more difficult to split evenly if you want to bend the tips and the slightly opaque once that is easier to split. I make my bows lean and mean. Cut out everything that doesn't help performance. I tried making a takedown horse bow but first version was a complete flop 😁 I think maybe I'll try your method of making a metal insert and put the limb straight into that.
That's a very interesting way to add PVC to the bow. It makes it look like it's covered in sinew and has a horn belly.
Beautiful work!
thanks I glad you like it.
Thank you so much brother 😊 आपने बहुत अच्छी तरह से धनुष बना कर दिखाया है
