GB Color was my first system ever. Ironically we both got it on the same Christmas. Even though I go back to the SP when I feel like playing old Game Boy stuff, the Color will always have a special place in my heart. So many nights huddling under a lamp...
Impressive collection! The reason Dragon Quest was Dragon Warrior in North America was because of the game D&D Dragon Quest. They changed the name for legal reasons.
Nice collection. In elementary school, me and a couple of friends from my after school program had Super Mario Bros. deluxe and we'd play it everyday together religiously haha. BTW, they had to change Dragon Quest to Dragon Warrior because the Dragon Quest copyright was already held by some other party at the time.
My first gaming console was a game boy color (a purple clear-ish version). I loved it so much. I only had one game for it: Pokemon Blue, so I played it over and over and over again. It rocked my world.
Excellent stuff here, Craig. Always nice to take a look at these great handheld games, most of which still hold up so well today. One game on the GBC that I don't believe you have is Xtreme Sports. A VERY early Wayforward game if I'm not mistaken? Also not a game I would typically flock to, but there's actually more to the game than you'd expect. Definitely give it a look! :)
Hey Craig, nice collection as usual. Next time when you do one of these games collection vids, you should briefly show off the system as well! Especially if you've got multiple ones, redesigns, or limited edition systems :D
That's a good idea! I've thought about it before, but I don't want to detract too much from the games themselves. I would make a separate video for the systems themselves. :)
Nice GBC collection. I still have my see through purple model and it works like a champ. I don't remember playing much except Mario Golf which is a great game.
Dragon Warrior 1 on Gameboy was made to be much more accessible than on the Nes version, which is why it can be so short if you know what you are doing. The nes version has nerfed XP and nerfed gold drops so you must grind a tonne on the original. Personally I always liked the grinding, I like being able to only win a couple battles and then limping wounded running hopefully back to town to get healed. It gave me a really good feeling of accomplishment. It made sense though on the portable version to speed things up for sure.
The GBC was probably the system I liked the least in the GB line. Only a few games sparked my interest. The first Spider-Man game is actually really good as Spider-Man games go. I agree with you sentiment on the Zelda GBC games. I never thought too deeply about it, but you reasoning makes sense. They never really felt unique.
Great collection. I really expected you to have Pokemon Gold, Silver and/or Crystal. Gold/Silver were my very first games on the GBC. I played the absolute hell out of Silver, easily my favorite Pokemon game to date. I know they remade it on DS, but I would jump for joy for a 3DS version.
I did buy Silver when it first released, but I don't remember what happened to it. I own SoulSilver now and just felt like repurchasing the original Silver!
Great video and collection as always, Craig! I love the Game Boy Color as a system, and thought I only had a handful of actual GBC games. But this video has made me realize that I actually have some of my games categorized wrong (GB vs. GBC). I'll have to fix that. :P Like many I'm also surprised to not see Pokémon Gold/Silver/Crystal. Gold/Silver are actually the oldest boxes I own from my childhood. I probably kept them cause of the shine. I'd also recommend Dragon Ball Z: Legendary Super Warriors. Even if you're not a fan of the show, it's a pretty fun strategy-type game with some great sprite work. It's a card battle type game, but one of the best I've played.
Game Boy Color is my favorite of the Nintendo handhelds to be honest. Lots of great hidden gems on the system including the imports... shame it didn't last longer.
This got nothing to do with your (awesome as always) video but I'm gonna tell you anyway... I was kinda freaking out because of a phone call I had to do.. your voice calms me down. Thank you for that.
aww. Not so nostalgic for me. I had that Super Mario Bros. Deluxe and that's all we have in common :P Still though, I love the GBC. This was my first game boy ever.
I remember having a point & click adventure on my GBC called "the fish files" with a comic little story about aliens abducting some pet fish. Not anywhere near as good as the lucusarts games it aped but fun none the less.
One of your best videos ! Brings back so many memories. I used to devour your content when I was in uni 😃

When i was born people were already plaing gameboy advance sp but to be honest i like to skip gameboy advance and go to ds or 3ds and gambe boy color
+NatCat The worm light is where it's at! I used that on both the GB pocket and GBC.
Impressive collection! The reason Dragon Quest was Dragon Warrior in North America was because of the game D&D Dragon Quest. They changed the name for legal reasons.
Awesome collection Craig! I hope to see the GBA collection soon, I'm super excited for that!
Cool video man! I am really enjoying these videos. Can't wait to see your Game Boy Advance collection.

Ah that makes sense. Thanks for filling me in. :)

brings back memories of insrtuction books that had content in them and not just some basic info on the game.

Nice collection. I too like it if a box art has weird artwork for the game. Makes it more unique in my opinion:)

Neat. I'd like a boxed MGS and Resident Evil Gaiden :/

I completely agree on the Oracle games, I thought they were a bit sub-par for Zelda standards. Especially OoA I thought was tedious
I want Lego island 2 for the Gameboy color it looks cool
No Pokemon Gold, Silver, or Crystal? The second and sixth gens are probably the two best of the whole series!
I rather jealous you have boxed MegaTen games, I've only attained loose ones so far for the gba, gameboy and the color
My first gameboy was a purple gameboy color, with: Donkey Jong country , Super Mario bros Deluxe
Is the Pokemon Pinball box bigger than a normal GB box?
Yes, just a little though, presumably to accommodate the larger rumble cartridge
@@tvandlust Could you please give me the exact measurement?
+tv and lust do you have tetris dx i have it and it is an amazing game simply because tetris is my favorite puzzle game
"This box art that looks like it was done by a child" LMAO, that's actually concept art from RE2
ToruKun1 Yes! yes! the touch my gameboy collection
i got a boxed Resident Evil Gaiden a couple years ago for £3
Dang! That's a steal!!
Dragon warrior monsters 2 was the shit. One of the best gameboy color games of all time.
I have also Binary Domain and its a fantastic n funny shooter..... :P grettings from grecce!
This is how I ended up with a rather large GB and GBC collection too >_>
I remember having a point & click adventure on my GBC called "the fish files" with a comic little story about aliens abducting some pet fish. Not anywhere near as good as the lucusarts games it aped but fun none the less.

Great collection and video btw
"Link Passwords" he says whilst talking about a zelda game... 😅

The reason Dragon Quest was changed to Dragon Warrior, cuz of trademark issues at the time. Just saying.
You got my like at "Zelda can do better"
Your voice sounds extremely similar to Adam Koralik's voice.
it wasnt called dragon quest because the owners of dungeons and dragons owned the name dragon quest in north america
Koro Koro Kirby (Nintendo Japan)
Kong**
