I already use something similar to this by adding a split shot weight crimped halfway up the hook. Probably a lot cheaper also

Thought you didn’t like screw-lock type bait holders, Randy. Maybe that opinion is just for shaky head hooks? Anyway, I tried the non-weedless whacky hook version of this where the screw lock is under the hook..attached to the weight which is molded onto the whacky hook. Once the bait is on the screw lock, the hook sits completely above the bait. I like that idea, but wish they made a weedless version (think Gamakatsu weedless whacky hooks with the plastic weed guard that bends up under the hook point). Don’t know if I like the shank sticking out from this bait in the new version. I haven’t been able to use this original Core whisky shot rig much yet, but just messing with it a little, I feel it sinks too fast even at 1/28 oz. Maybe they’ll make an even lighter one?

Core Tackle stuff is innovative and awesome. I really like the TUSH and Hover Rigs, they're just as good for the saltwater as for bass. I might try the new Wacky Shot in the saltwater, I've never heard of wacky rigs being used in the saltwater but I think it should be great for docks and next to rocks.

Don't use wacky. Never have. Boring af dragging a worm on the bottom. I fish for walleye and trout in Michigan's winter and start fishing for bass when they are actively feeding on moving baits like buzzers, frogs and cranks. Thanks for sharing!

@ NP, I got into the habit of doing a search on a specific bait after seeing it on UA-cam bcuz many channels can only mention their sponsors. Which I understand bcuz many products are given to channel owners to review and promote, but when it comes out of our pockets I look for the best price.

Thats it. Google Zoom Zlinky. Its there version on a senko. Every company has stick bait. Yum dinger, Zoom Zlinky, Yamamoto Senko, Bass pro shops Stik-o ect. The rig is the new deal tho its called the core tackle weedless wacky shot.

This is necessary because it’s a design to be fishing in deeper waters. You don’t want to use this type of a rig in shallow water

Thanks for reading my post. I don’t think my posts about Randy using, selling and manufacturing toxic Lead Fishing lures are negative. My posts comprise a litany of unanswered questions and challenges to Randy over his decision to support mining toxic Lead for throw-away objects. These are legitimate questions, posed in the same way Randy himself asks questions of others. As for my post on his failure to read a report before speaking to it, my concern stands justified. Just today he had to delete an entire video based on one such false report.
Hey I was watching a video by Matt Stefan fishing, the video titled The shot wacky rig is taking over! He was using a Zapu o in wacky hook, same kinda hook rig but its 1/32 oz with a 3.8 in Realis skinny worm. He was slaying small 1 to 4 lb bass. Check it out same deal as yours but for small bass & big blue gills.
